The time has finally come. Joohyun who had been in a thousand-year-long meditation finally came out of solitary training and back into the world. A pained smile entered her face as she prepared herself to face her fellow underworlders and fulfil the promises she had with the rest of the world. She was to be punished for the deeds of her predecessors, for releasing the great beasts of the underworld and stirring chaos in the world. She was to be punished for her title as madam of the demon realm. Finally, she was to be punished for her relationship with the high goddess of the heaven realm, tainting her, and resulting in her death.
At the same time, somewhere on the other end of the world, a being was rebirthed. Her memories of her past life flashed before her eyes, of an unadulterated love shared with another, of all of the blood she had shed to preserve the world, of her struggles in her death throes. Her name was Seungwan and her lover was Joohyun. The being convulsed once as the flurry of memories before her was erased away.
Seungwan, with no memories found herself in an adult immortal body yet her mind was as pure and innocent as an infant’s. She did not know what she had done to warrant her such great reverence from all the immortal beings but she accepted all of them humbly. They brought her treasures from the four seas, weapons once owned by great celestial beings, and magical fruits that only matured once every ten thousand years.
Seungwan thought this day would be no different as she was to receive greetings from more immortal beings except that this immortal being that sought for her audience had a reputation as great as herself. Yet, this individual resided in a different realm from hers, the great ruler of the demon realm, Queen Joohyun.
