1. Why was Asianfanfics created?

I'm pretty sure it went something like Jason wanted his girlfriend to have a place to post her fanfiction about a Taiwainese idol?


2. What is the exact date of AFF's anniversary?

Since I know it's in April and that this popped up a few days ago, I'm going to guess April 3rd. Otherwise, I don't know :c


3. Our admin, Jason, wrote a fanfic: Zero Day Diaries. Which kpop artists are featured in this fic?

Hm...can't really say I've read it before. Sorry :C





4. How long have you been on AFF for?

Since Jan 8, 2012, so a little over 4 years


5. What color was AFF's layout when you joined?

Green.


6. How did you find AFF?

Not sure, but back then I was absolutely obsessed with TaeNy (the Taeyeon and Tiffany pairing from Girls' Generation), and I was probably looking up stuff about them when I stumbled across a fanfiction about them from this site.


7. How did you end up becoming a member? What made you want to become a member?

I used to just come here and just search for fanfics to read, but eventually decided that I wanted to comment on them and subscribe to them, so I made an account and eventually used it to start writing myself.


8. You are user no. ____?

Uh...how do you check this? hehhheh...


9. What was your first username?

I haven't changed my username ever since its creation, so kesujo


10. What was the first story you read on here?

I forgot; probably some fluffy TaeNy story.


11. Who is the first AFFer you talked to?

I think it was a username by the name girlsgenerationftw. I read one of her stories and I think it was one of the few (at the time) that I commented on, and we just started talking from there.


12. Who was your first friend? Do you still keep in contact?

The user mentioned above was, I'd say. We did exchange phone numbers, but don't talk to each other much anymore. Last year, I think, she wished me a happy birthday, but that was about it.


13. How many fanfiction/thread(s) do you currently have? How many of them are complete?

10 fanfiction; 3 one-shots (of the 3, one was created for one of my stories), one completed story, 1 'story' where I dump all of my one-shots at, one created for a friend I made here, another one that I had a sudden inspiration to write-wrote 3 chapters and then decided to stop until I finished the rest of my stories, another sorta slice-of-life journal-like story, one romantic drama, and one action/mystery story (sorta; don't really know how to peg that one). So to answer the question, 10 fanfics and 4 complete

Nope.


17. Out of a scale of 10, how much do you frequent the site?

I'd say a solid 9. I do visit the site daily, but most times to check for notifications or to update my stories; I do sometimes look for fanfics, but recently, not that frequently.


18. What is the main activity that you do on AFF?

Write for my stories and the occasional blog (that I steal from creamysmiles :D)


19. How do you spend most of your karma points?

I don't think I've ever spent those.
Well, there was this one time where I sent some karma to someone who needed it for something, but otherwise, that was it.

21. Have you ever uploaded a video in the video gallery?

Nope.


22. Have you entered the chatroom? How was it like for you?

Yea; I think it was about like 3 years ago when I stumbled upon the chat and was greeted by an insanely energetic SUPERSHINEEGEN. I loved it almost immediately and honestly, it was what I looked forward to doing every day when I got home; we would even go onto tinychat sometimes, which was pretty bad because it was soo laggy and stuff but it was still nice.


23. What is your favourite feature of AFF?

I'd have to say the random daily featured story thing; it's a nice way to give publicity to stories that have potential and give them a little kickstart.


24. What is your least favourite feature of AFF? How can it be improved to make it better?

Actually, I think there are multiple things.

1) more tags for the stories. I'm not saying too many more, maybe a total of like  .. 15?
2) a way to specifically look up stories by their names. There were times in the past where I recalled a story and wanted to read it, but couldn't find it because it was pretty old and didn't show up in any of the tags associated with it.
3) another way to search for fics other than most recently updated. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be the default--in fact, I think that most recently updated being the default is a good idea--but I'm saying that I wish there was a way to search for fics based on popularity, or how long ago it was created, etc.

25. If you could introduce just one feature on AFF, what would it be and why?

I would say it would be the third point up there; the option to search for stories using multiple things and not just 'how recently was this story updated?'


26. If you could customize the way AFF appears to you, what color would it be? You could just pick one color or a palette.

I'm not really one to bother too much about these things, so blue is fine for me.


27. Who is/are your best friend(s) on AFF?

That energetic SUPERSHINEEGEN that I mentioned above is definitely my best friend right now, and also during the times I frequented the chat a lot, a user by the name of Ariya (or something) was also a pretty close friend.


28. Who are the users you want to get to know better?

Back when I first started writing, there were a few authors that I viewed as like, the pinnacle/best authors (which included BubbleEater, FujinoLover, marsvern, MashiPao, and a few others that I don't remember); so I think I'd like to get to know one of these authors better.


29. Are you grateful/owe something to someone on AFF? Who and why?

Yes. I'm really grateful to Gen (aka SUPERSHINEEGEN) for just being an awesome friend in general and to Ari (Ariya) for helping me through the period of time when my dad passed away.


30. Who are your AFF inspirations?

The authors that I mentioned above where inspirations. Honestly, I still don't think I'm at their level yet, but I can always strive for it ^^


31. If you could put a star on any of your fics/threads, which one would you pick?

Mine? Hm...I don't really know, I don't think any of them are worthy of the star yet, but maybe the most popular one for more publicity (named The Garden of Hesperides)? Or maybe the other slice-of-life journal-style story (The Do's and Don'ts of a Friendly Relationship) because I really like writing for that one, but honestly ... I don't think either of them are good enough to be featured yet.

32. What is/are your all time favourite storie(s)/thread(s)?

I had a lot, but here are a few:

My Disorder is You, The Ghost of You, and The Lustful Wife Of Mine. Also, the story that I mentioned above (the romantic/mystery one) is on the list too.


33. Who is/are your all time favourite author/s?

Again, the above mentioned authors.


34. If you could put a star on another user's fics/threads, which one would you pick?

There was this one fanfic by one of the authors above that was a romantic/mystery fanfic using the TaeNy and YulSic pairings, and it was about just them solving mysteries and whatnot. I remember liking it a lot, so I'd choose that one probably.

Also, just as a side-note, there was this huge TaeNy fanfiction that a bunch of authors that I mentioned above and I (who was extremely shocked and felt extremely lucky to be a part of them) where going to write where each author would write one chapter, and it was going to be 26 chapters long or something, but ended up not being able to do because the one that was leading the project had her account hacked. I remember being really hype about that, and it probably would've turned out to be an awesome fic, so maybe that one.


35. If you could have any username you want, what would that be? (Did someone already take the username you wanted?)

I'm content with mine :D


36. If you would write a fanfic about your life in AFF, what would the title be?

Maybe something to do with learning how to write from reading? Or the transition between using AFF for its chat to using it for writing?
IDK, I'm sorta bad at creating titles on the spot :C


37. What was the weirdest thing you encountered on the site?

Not sure...


38. What was the best thing that has happened to you on the site?

Randomly deciding to scroll through the different functions of the site and discovering the chat function, definitely.


39. Have your interests changed on AFF? If yes, in what way? (Eg. Change of OTP, bias group, AFF activity.)

Although my interests have changed, it wasn't because of AFF; I just started to look at more groups other than SNSD and found that I started to like Girls' Day, AOA, Twice, and A Pink (in that order, I think). My new bias group is A Pink now, although I haven't really written any stories about them yet.


40. There are many communities now on AFF (such as the writing, designing, coding, applyfic, roleplay, reader communities). Is there a community that you aren't part of but want to try one time?

Actually, I'd like to try out the roleplaying stuff once; I've seen those a lot, but never ventured into them.


41. What is the best thing AFF or being a member of AFF taught you?

That reading actually does improve your writing, and that you need dedication in order to become recognized (and an ability to use what's popular with the majority of the audience to your advantage)


42. What is your greatest contribution to the site so far?

I haven't really made any great contribution to the site ... so maybe just my stories? Still, my stories aren't really that great, so...


43. What are your current AFF goals?

Just to finish some of my fics that I've started a few years ago, maybe get one of my stories featured?


44. If the AFF community decides to do a get-together, how should we spend it and where?

We could go to a restaurant or some big place to eat and talk with people and stuff. Maybe have a bunch of computers available so we can check each other's profiles out and stuff.


45. AFF is celebrating it's 7th year and is continuing to grow thanks to our admin, Jason. Do you have a message for him?

This has been repeating SOO many times, but I'm going to repeat it anyways.
Thanks so much for creating this site; I can confidently, with 100% certainty, say that this site has changed my life for the better. Not only have I made a few good friends and one best friend I couldn't imagine my life without, but I'm pretty sure my writing has been improved a lot--and especially since I liked to write before joining AFF (I started at fanfics.net, which is, I would say, a more hostile environment than here), that means a lot to me. So honestly, thanks so much Jason :DD
