27 Writers Questions (Get to Know Me Better) ;)

I wrote this so you could get to know me better.  ;)  I hope you enjoy it.

1)  Who is your favorite tumblr poet - the one, without fail, you must read - and why?
I only read poetry if I find it randomly and am curious.  Other than that I rarely - never - read poetry.  Tumblr is mostly for my updates or reblogging way to many images from other posters.  :D

2)  Who is your favorite tumblr prose writer - the one, without fail, you must read - and why?
...  What?  Most of the writers I read are either one A03 or AFF - minus the original books I find in stores, there are a few authors I do read, but I can't remember them at this moment...  -.-

3)  Who would you say is your greatest writing influence - in terms of your own writing style, and why?
When writing I'm usually not influenced by other writers.  Maybe inspired and end up with a story not close to related - you have to love inspiration.  If I had to pick, Stephen Kind and J.K. Rowling and the writer of the Anita Blake series.  I just love genre's and what ever I'm in the mood for is what I write.  I shamelessly write to my preferences.  ;)

4)  Paper or Plastic?
Yet again, ...  What?  Just so you know I got these questions online:
LINK You can check out the full blog there.

5)  List three books you've read more than three times.
Um, none.  I rarely re-read books.  I'm too excited to move on to the next adventure.  There is this one comedy witchy story I've read like twice...  maybe three times.  Hey... that shows just how good it is.  I like strong female characters, romantic comedies,  ok, comedy in general.
Most books or fics I read have a humorous element.  I also love anything paranmoral, supernatural, magicky... that junk.  Haha.

6)  Do you find alcohol or drugs enhance your creativity/writing ability, or distract from it - why or why not?
When I'm drinking, which isn't very often, sometimes it helps.  Usually, though, I'm a happy hyper drunk and am having too much fun to sit down and write.  I don't do drugs, even pot.  I have bipolar disorder and those two things don't mix.  It makes me want to dig my brain out, because one of the symptoms of bipolar disorder is racing thoughts.
Alcohol kicks it in to gear so bad it's like torture.  The only way to deal with it is to go to sleep.  I-hate-it.  No judgement to those who do though.

7)  What is your favorite place to write and why?
I write at a table.  It's like being at work, so I'm alert.  If I sat in a bed I'd be tempted to go to sleep.  Even still, my body naturally says, "Bed, at least relax."  Ugh.

8)  What other artistic pursuits (if any) do you indulge in apart from creative writing?
Does listening to a ton of music count?  No?  Well, I also draw.  I like to crochette and build things.  I would love to create big art with wood or sheets of metal and bead.  It'll happen eventually.

9)  When do you find is the best time of day for you to write, and describe why this is so?
When the sun goes down, and I say that instead of night time, because where I live, during winter it gets dark around five pm.  Dark time is quieter and I'm nocturnal.  I wake up then and things work perfectly.  I also like to write when people aren't around me.  When they're around it feels like they're judging me for spending so much time writing, or they want to talk to me or show me tons of facebook posts or are like, "Look look," and want me to look at the tv.
My reaction - *dramatic sigh, rolls eyes, widens them and looks at whatever.  *Scowls, then looks back at computer.  Fun.

10)  You get a brilliant thought/phrase/idea at an innopropriate moment (in the shower, while driving, while drifting off to sleep), what do you do?
I don't drive, so that's not a problem.  If in the shower I focus hard to remember it (sometimes it doesn't work), and if I'm about to drift off to sleep, you can guarantee I'll get up and write it down.  A good idea can't be allowed to go to waste.

11)  Cake or Death?
Um... cake?  (Another weird question.  Sorry.  ...)

12)  What are some of your favorite words, and why?
Vista - I like how it looks and how it sounds.  Peitree - the sound of it cracks me up.  Pup - I resonate with this word *wistful sigh.  Haha.

13)  If you lost the ability to read and write for a day, what would you do?
I could endure.  It's just a day, but it doesn't mean I'd like it.  -.-

14)  Do you desire to be published or make writing your profession?  Why or why not?
Yes.  I want to self publish, because I get more royalties and set my own hours - I'm my own boss.  What more could you ask for?

15)  Tyler Durden and Holden Caulfield is a no-holds-barred fight club grudge match.  Tell me the story.  Who wins?
    What the fu-?

16)  If your writing process could be analogized to a movie, what movie would it be?
*scratches head.  Why are these questions so complicated?  I plead the fifth.  Does that apply here?  Probably not.  Well, it does now.  XP

17)  What is your favorite style or form of poetry to read, and why?
Style and form are different things?  And I've already expressed my feelings on poetry - just no.

18)  What is a style or form of poetry that you cannot stand, and why?
Haven't we covered this already?  Poetry - NO.

19)  Who would you save the last dance for, and why?
...  What does this have to do with writing?

20)  What one thing would tell you've made it as a writer?
Um...  good ratings, loyal readers and I can write full time.

21)  Why would anyone ask this question?
Ok, I can appreciate the sarcasm here.  Hahahaha.

22)  Lyrics or music, and why?
I like listening to music and if it appeals to me I'll read the lyrics.  Because I love music, and I'm a writer, so words are my bag, man.  ;)

23)  Do you prefer to handwrite first, or compose on a keyboard.  If you do both do you find your work differs if you write it on the keyboard versus writing out by hand?
I prefer both.  Sometimes, if I'm uninspired I'll go to the notebook.  When I'm inspired at the computer it displays it better for me and the ideas flow better.  It's not a better experience, just a different one.  I love both.

24)  This, or that?
*bangs head on table.  I should've read through these before I posted them.

25)  If you were a merperson, what song would you sing, and why?
*laughs hysterically, bangs head on desk some more, throws laptop in the floor.

26)  What subject(s) do you find you can not write about, and why?
Um...  I write every thing, from fluff, to dark verse.  It's all fiction, even if I always add realism.  I write what I'm inspired to write.  All readers have preferences.  I have a story to tell, and those interested appreciate them.

27)  What is the end?
Oh, for s sake.  Just shoot me now and get it over with.
...  The end is when things are - or aren't, depending on the characters and plot - wrapped up at the end.  Lessons have been learned, issues worked out, a chapter in their lives closed - there's always an opening, rather there's a cliff hanger or not, because with life, it only ends with death - except it's only another chapter on those you left behind.  You're gone, but never forgotten.  Ok, I have no idea why I took a depressing turn there, but... yeah.  The End.
I really hate myself for saying that.  This has been pure torture.  Repost at your own... something torturous.

I hope you enjoyed it.  Comments can be left below.  I also hoped it helped you get to know me a little better.  ;)  Until next time!  ~Demitria_Teague
