Taehyung POV

*Minjung* what a beautiful name. I took a deep breath and asked her if she would like to have lunch with me tomorrow.

"Tomorrow? What time?"

"Would 1-2 be okay for you?"

"I’m fine with that, that is if I don't over sleep"

"I trust that you won't"

"You just might regret trusting me" she said and laughing, I laughed along with her.

"Do you want to leave now?"

"Yes please"

"Do you need a lift?"

"It’s okay I drove here"

We exited the café and bid each other goodbye. Now I have to go back to the office and pick up a few files for Rapmon hyung before heading down to our usual pub. After leaving the office I was driving to the pub when I received a phone call "yea kookie?"

"Yah where are you?"

"Sorry, I'm turning in now"

With that I ended the call and parked my car alongside the road, with the files in my hand I made my way over. I push opened the door to the put and the scent of alcohol filled my nose, I spot the guys sitting at our usual table I waved to them and walked over.

“Hyung, here are the files that you wanted.” I said and place the files in front of Rapmon hyung

“Ah, thanks Tae.”

“Hyung what took you so long to get here? You’re almost an hour late, were you stuck in a traffic jam?” Jungkook asked me just when I took a sip of the beer that the guys had ordered earlier on.

“I was busy with something and lost track of time, sorry”

"What could you possibly be busy with? Your life practically revolves around us and work" Jimin commented and the others laughed.

I sulked and took a sip of my drink, but coming to think of it he's not wrong. My life does only revolve around work and the boys, I'm always either on cases or hanging out with the boys. That is till I met Minjung, I wonder if she'll really turn up for lunch tomorrow.

"Yah Tae you're spacing out" J-hope hyung said waving his hand in front of me. "Is something bothering you?"

"No, it nothing" I assured them with a smile.

"Okay... anyways we're planning to go down to your grandma's house tomorrow for lunch, do you think it's okay?"

Before I could reply my phone beeped indicating that I received a message. "Hold that thought hyung"

I looked at my screen and saw that it was Minjung who texted me *how did she get my number? Oh, right we exchanged them earlier on*

-flashback-

I was about to enter my car when she called out to me. "Hey, you're not telling me where we are going to have lunch and I have no way to contact you. So, do you think we should exchange numbers?"

"Aish, if you want my number you could have just asked you didn’t need to use lunch as an excuse" I replied while flipping my hair coolly.

“You’re too in love with yourself now” Minjung said taking out her phone, laughing.

-end of flashback-

From: Minjung:)

Hey, I'm really sorry but I can't make it for tomorrow's lunch.

*I knew it was too good to be true* I was about to reply when there came another beep.

From: Minjung:)

It's not that I don't want to but something important came up. I will have lunch with you when I get back okay:)

*come back? Is she going somewhere?*

To: Minjung:)

Sure:) are you going somewhere?

From: Minjung:)

Unfortunately, yes, I don't know when I'll be back. But when I am I'll let you know okay?

To: Minjung:)

Will I still be able to contact you?

From: Minjung:)

Hopefully. I got to go bye.

I look up to find the guys staring at me "lunch at my grandma's sounds great, I'll text her to let her know"

Minjung POV

I parked my car outside of the hideout and exited the car humming to a happy tune, I pushed open the door of the hideout and was immediately faced with a relieved Tyler. I sense that something is not right here “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Why didn’t you pick up your phone? We have orders from the boss and we leave now, you have 5 minutes to pack your luggage”

“Sorry I had my phone on silent, I’m ready to go when you are. What’s the problem this time? Rookie groups or- wait. Luggage? Someone fill me in on what’s going on.” I asked folding my arms staring at the whole lot of them.

“We tried to call you in advance but you weren’t picking up our calls” Aiden said shrugging his shoulders.

“But what is going on? Why do I need my luggage?”

“Look the boss wants us to travel to the states and a few other countries to teach new rookies the ropes and to keep the other gangs in place as well.” Tyler cut in before anyone else could answer.

“Why us? Why can’t he do it himself or call his other men to do it?”

“I don’t know okay, don’t ask me. But he only requested for the both of us, the rest are to stay here and take care of the things here”

“And I have no say in this?”

“Nope, now get moving we need to be at the airport by 10pm” He walked pass me towards the car.

“I have packed your things for you so you better get going” Jiyoon unnie said as she dragged my luggage over to me “We’re going to miss you a lot” she said and gave me a hug. Slowly one by one they hugged me telling me to come back in one piece, which made me chuckle. I’m lucky Ethan is not here I don’t want to see his face. “Unnie please take care of my baby and don’t let anything happen to her” I whined. “Relax Minjung your car will be well taken care of, you better go now before Tyler blows his top.” I waved to the gang one last time before entering the car, I wonder how long it would take for me to come home this time. The last time I was sent overseas to do somethings it took me 5 months, that was before I became a group with Tyler and everybody else. Tyler and I took a cab to the airport, when we reach we immediately went to check in our luggage. Somehow, I felt like I had forgotten something important, it was then I realised I was supposed to meet Taehyung for lunch tomorrow. I fish out my phone from my right pocket and texted Taehyung,

To: Taehyung^^

Hey, I'm really sorry but I can't make it for tomorrow's lunch.

*What if he misunderstands?* I quickly send out another text telling him that I had something on and it wasn’t that I didn’t want to have lunch with him.

To: Taehyung^^

It's not that I don't want to but something important came up. I will have lunch with you when I get back okay:)

From: Taehyung^^

Sure:) are you going somewhere?

To: Taehyung^^

Unfortunately, yes, I don't know when I'll be back but when I am I'll let you know okay?

From: Taehyung^^

Will I still be able to contact you?

“Hey Minjung we need to go now” Tyler called out to me.

To: Taehyung^^

hopefully. I got to go bye.

I walked over to Tyler “Got everything you need? Because I feel like this is going to take some time before we get back. Oh by the way you might want to have a look at these files, it’s what we have to do” I took the files over from Tyler and flipped through it, there are files about the new rookies, the gangs that we have to deal with and a few other deals that we are supposed to make while we are there. We have a total of 3 places to go, California, Japan and Hong Kong. Now we are headed for California and I can already feel a headache coming on. “You might want to get some rest, this is going to be a long trip.” Tyler said to me as he sat down beside me. “Hmms I will, you should sleep too” I looked out the window and my mind drifted back to V *When will I be able to see you again?” I plugged in my earpiece and drifted off to sleep.

Taehyung POV

I inserted my key into the keyhole and twisted it to unlock the door to my apartment. I dragged my feet into my house and the lights, now did I realise that my house is in a mess. I sighed and start to clean things up. By the time I was finished cleaning the whole house it was passed midnight, I took my clothes from my drawer, a black long sleeve pullover with a print of a monkey and long black track pants, and headed for the bathroom. I was finally in bed at 1.08am, I took my phone from my bedside and unlocked it *No text from her. Maybe I should send her one?* I contemplated for a little while before deciding to send her one.

To: Minjung:)

I guess you’re on the plane now, have a safe trip and text me when you can. I hope to see you soon:) I am going to sleep now, goodnight Minjung^^

I set the necessary alarms and drifted off to sleep.

-Next morning-

[Alarm sounds] *Urgh, morning already?* I groan and sat up to off my alarm. I shuffled to my bathroom and took a cold morning bath to wake myself up, after I was done I took my tower from the rack and wrapped it around my waist. I looked at myself in the mirror and ruffled my hair a little, sighing I exited the bath room. I walked towards my wardrobe and opened it, after staring at my clothes for some time I settled for a simple black tee, jeans and a brown leather jacket to finish it off. I took my wallet and placed it into the right back pocket of my jeans, my earpiece went into the left front pocket. I was about to leave my room when I remembered that my keys and phone was still on the table beside my bed so I turned back to get them. I locked up my house and walked towards my car, just as I was about to enter my phone beeped.

From: Kookie

Hyung, can you help the other hyungs and I get some hot chocolate on your way here?

To: Kookie

Got it

I press the back button and saw Minjung’s contact right below Jungkook’s, unconsciously pressing her name *She has yet to reply huh? Don’t think too much about it, she would if she could.* I reassured myself and entered my car speeding off.

Minjung POV

Since we did not have our own house in California we had to crash at the rookie’s house. Tyler and I went up the stairs to settle down in our rooms, I unpacked my luggage a little and sat down on the bed after I bathed and changed into a new set of clothes. It was now 4.37 in the afternoon and the sun is high up in the sky, but luckily it was snowing here as well if not I would have died from a heat . Turning on my phone I saw that there was a message from Taehyung,

From: Taehyung^^

I guess you’re on the plane now, have a safe trip and text me when you can. I hope to see you soon:) I am going to sleep now, goodnight Minjung^^

I smiled to myself a little and replied

To: Taehyung^^

Hi, sorry I just landed. You must be sleeping now since it should be about 1am in Korea, talk soon:)

I was about to leave my room and go to Tyler’s when a beep sounded from my phone

Hi, I just got home actually.”

To: Taehyung^^

Just finish work?

From: Taehyung^^

Yea. Which country are you in?

To: Taehyung^^

California

Wow that’s very far. Since you owe me a lunch you have to keep me company while I eat dinner now, you have the choice of Skype or calling.

To: Taehyung^^

Eating dinner so late isn’t good. But okays we can Skype a little before I have to go. Give me your username and I’ll add you.

I looked into the mirror to make sure that I was presentable before accepting the call. He was wearing a plain black tee, while I was wearing a white hoodie with denim shorts.

"Is this on? Minjung can you see me?" I heard him talking to himself, which is really cute.

"Hi Taehyung."

"Oh, hi Minjung, do I look okay? Hehe" he asked as he adjusted his hair ruffling it a little, I can't help but laugh at this he is simply too cute. "You look fine Taehyung. So what are you eating for dinner?"

"Jajiangmeon, have you eaten?"

"Nah, I just got settled down. I'll probably get something to eat later" he nodded as he started to eat his food.

"So what are you doing there? Business trip?"

"You can say that. How was your day?"

"Busy haha."

"You should sleep early then"

"I will after I finish eating and talking to you, what are you planning to do today?"

"Well, my job here officially starts tomorrow so I guess I'll just go have dinner and recover from my jet lag haha"

“I see, do you perhaps know when you are coming back to Korea?”

“I don’t know, it depends on how long I need to get things done here.”

“So you are going to be in California the whole time?”

“No, I have other places to go as well but I am planning to leave California in 2 weeks’ time. So hopefully I can make it back to Korea before Christmas.”

Taehyung and I talk and talk for what seemed like hours but in actual fact it has only been an hour, I was about to reply to Taehyung’s question when I heard a knock on the door.

“Sorry give me a moment.” I said to Taehyung and opened the door. I opened the door just big enough for my body to be seen, I want to keep Taehyung a secret, for now. Behind the door stood Tyler who had already bath and changed out of his old clothes, he was wearing a plain baggy black long sleeve with jeans and slightly wet hair, his room, which was just across from mine, door was opened and I could see that he has finish packing as well. “Yea?” I asked still covering the view of my room with my body.

“Have you finish packing?”

“Yea I have. Do you need anything?”

“No I just wanted to ask if you want dinner? I am going out in a while.”

“Sounds great, what time do you want to leave?” Tyler looked at his watch and said “6.30 sound good?”

“Sure, I’ll see you in a bit then” I closed the door and went back to my bed where Taehyung was on the computer waiting for me.

“Hi, sorry about that.”

“No it’s okay. Who was it?”

“Colleague?” I said unsure of myself.

“Oh, is it time for dinner?”

“Yea, we’re going out to eat soon. So, I’ll talk to you soon?”

“Sure.”

“Bye” I said smiling cheerfully at Taehyung.

“Take care alright” He said and waved to me. I exited the chat with Taehyung and went to change into jeans, when I came out of the toilet I saw a blinking light from my phone indicating that there is a text message.

It was nice talking to you, thanks for keeping me company while I ate dinner:) Goodnight Minjung.

To: Taehyung^^

No problem. It was nice talking to you too, goodnight:)

I put my phone into my back pocket of my jeans, took my wallet from the table as well as my white coat that was hanging from my chair and left the room. Tyler was already waiting for me in the living room where he was talking to the rookies.

After dinner, we came back and I showered before getting into bed. I had problem trying to get some shut eye so I took my phone from the bedside and saw that it was already 1.07am in the morning. Just when I was about to leave the bed and go for a walk outside my phone beeped.

Good morning!

To: Taehyung^^

Morning, did you sleep well?

From: Taehyung^^

I thought you’re supposed to be sleeping? I slept okay I just wish I could sleep longer though

To: Taehyung^^

I can’t seem to fall asleep. What time is it over there?

From: Taehyung^^

It’s about 8 in the morning. What about your side?

To: Taehyung^^

About 1 am in the morning. You should get ready for work, talk to you soon.

From: Taehyung^^

Sure. Everything is okay right? When you can’t sleep it’s either you’re thinking a lot about something or in your case you might not be used to the new environment.

Somehow, I felt better like a weight was lifted of me, smiling, I lay back down in bed.

More than a week has passed and I was more or less done with what I had to do. I want to go home, I want to see Taehyung and I want to be driving my own car again. While I was wallowing in my unhappiness a beep came in, looking back down at my phone I was happy to see that the person who had messaged me was none other than Taehyung!

Are you free to talk right now?

To: Taehyung^^

Sure, what's up?

my phone started to ring and the caller ID wrote "Taehyung^^" without hesitation I picked up almost immediately, forgetting that it might have made me seem desperate.

"Hi Minjung"

"Hi Taehyung"

"So, anything I can help you with?"

"Well, I am flying to the states for business purposes and I will need to stop over at California for a few hours and I thought that we could have a quick lunch? If that's okay with you."

"Oh, when will you be coming?"

"Within the next few days I guess? I don't know which day yet though."

"Tell me when you know. Isn’t it passed midnight over in Korea? Why aren’t you sleeping?”

“I just got home actually”

“Work?”

“Yet I had a lot to do today, tomorrow another hectic day starts”

“You mean later?” I said and chuckled

“Yes, later. Are you done for the day?”

“No, I’m heading out in a while. Now little boys need their sleep so that they can grow up healthy” I playfully joked to Taehyung

“No way I am a big strong man”

“I highly doubt so” I excitedly replied while lying back on my bed, just when I was about to ask Taehyung what he wanted to eat when he comes over next week when I knock came on the door telling me had I had to go out for another ‘Job’ again. "Taehyung, I got to go. But I look forward to seeing you in a few days’ time, text me when you're flying here." A chuckle came from the phone "okay, I'll text you." There is this feeling inside of me when Taehyung said he wanted to come see me, I was... happy and excited to see him. I ended the call but still couldn't stop smiling widely to myself.

Hi my readers, how are all of you? I have been busy the past few days so I couldn’t update. I know this chapter isn’t my best chapter>< Kind of feels like a filter chapter doesn’t it? Tbh I’m not very satisfied with this chapter, but not to worry the next chapter will be better! I won’t be able to update the next few days as I would be out of the country.
