Narrator's POV

Da-in, Jonghyun, and Minhyun hurry to the truck, not wanting to encounter more zombies.

"Hey, guys, give me a lift," Da-in says as she waves the two over to the backside of the truck. At first, Da-in tries to pull herself up but to no avail. Minhyun snickers at her fail while Jonghyun boosts her up. After she gets up, she pulls in the rest of the guys.

Jonghyun rushes to one of the chests inside. He tries to open it but then finds a lock blocking his way.

"Damn, it's locked." Jonghyun fishes out a screwdriver from his pocket. He proceeds to screw out a panel on the chest and fiddles with the wires and whatever's there.

After a good minute, he takes a knife and slices one of the wires, causing the chest to click open. 

Da-in starts to clap out of amazement. "Wow, I didn't know you knew techy things."

Jonghyun laughs at her use of words. There's a lot of things you don't know about me, Da-in.

Minhyun pries the box open, revealing rows of explosives. "Daehwi is going to be excited. He loves blowing things up. He made that smoke bomb out of flour from the pantry."

Da-in throws her hands in the air. "Well . I'm just an average girl with no talent whatsoever. I can't even cook rice without burning it."

"Hey, you're an all-rounder. You're good at all kinds of combat," Jonghyun reassures her.

"Thanks, bud." She pats Jonghyun's shoulder. "Now, let's haul this over before more zombie hoards come."

And so, the gang heads back to the temporary hideout with their newfound explosives.

*BANG*

Da-in kicks the front doors open with a bang.

"Hey! You guys have to see what we got!"

Everyone starts to gather one by one. Daehwi, who had just woken up, walks in half-awake with a bed head. He rolls onto Jihoon who's sitting on the couch.

As soon as Jonghyun moves the lid, exposing just a smidge of the explosives, Daehwi's eyes pop wide open. He instantly sits upright and scrambles over to the box.

"Woah!" Daehwi exclaims, shuffling in the box. "These are high-quality explosives! Where did you guys get these?"

"Jonghyun found it and called Minhyun and me over to help."

Da-in, too busy talking about how the previous events, doesn't notice a sulking Jihoon in the corner.

Jihoon crosses his arms and turns his head away, pouting. "Why didn't she tell me about this or bring me along? I could've helped..." he mumbles.

He eventually leaves the room out of jealousy. Jonghyun who was leaning on a pillar nearby notices in the corner of his eye an upset Jihoon leaving the room. Being the leader he is, Jonghyun starts to feel concerned, not knowing the real reason behind his behavior.

Just as Jonghyun is about to take off after Jihoon, Daehwi calls for him. Jonghyun sighs and decides to question Jihoon later.

Da-in's POV

The happy moment was short-lived as we had to be on the move. There are trackers embedded in our wrists, and so the government will know that we're lazing around instead of doing our jobs.

Everyone went to their respected rooms to pack their things. As I'm loading my belt with my knives and spare guns, I hear a knock on my door.

For some reason, I expected to see Jihoon walk in. But to my surprise, Daniel walks in.

"Oh, what's up?" I ask putting my belt aside. 

He shuffles around for a bit with his hands in his pockets. After a second, Daniel finally speaks up. "Do you need help packing?"

"No, I'm almost done," I say, looking around. "But, thanks anyway."

He nods his head, acknowledging the rejection, but still lingers in the room.

"Do YOU need something?"

"Ah..." Daniel trails off. "Actually, can we be partners for the next outing?"

"Oh, sure. What's the reason?"

"I guess I want to get to know you better."

"Hmm, I don't think the right time to know me is when we're out killing zombies," I point out. "But, I'll take up your offer."

"Nice, see you outside then," Daniel says, hitting me with his winning eye-smile.

After he leaves, I can't help but think. Man, what's your motive, Kang Daniel?

I head downstairs to where the others are waiting.

"Sorry, did I take long?"

Jonghyun shook his head. "Not at all. We weren't waiting too long either."
