Finding Sugar Man"Won't you call me when you get to Seoul?"
People in my line of work spend so much time on the phone that when new friends find out how I don't really like talking over the phone and instead prefer SMS, they can't help but ask why. I'm actually fine talking official business; I would know what to say, how to project my voice, when to end the call and all, but when it comes to social calls, I get all nervous and tongue-tied, prolonging an uncomfortable silence. With messaging, I get to compose my thoughts and now with all those emojis available, also convey different emotions. But even if I use all those social media platforms and whatnot, I think I'm still analog at heart. I like old-fashioned writing--pen on paper--short notes and letters and dedications on instax photos to family members and closest friends.
Jiwon asked me to call him when I get to Seoul that day he took me home after camping, so I mustered enough courage and called him. We have been calling each other ever since.
I enjoy talking with him. It goes without saying how much I love his singing voice, which I think is unfairly underrated. If one listens closely to all the backing vocals he did, then one will know what I'm talking about. He can be a soloist if he wishes to.
