Secluded Coffee Shop
Somewhere in Seoul
Next Saturday
2PM
“Omo! You’re really Jisoo!” excitedly the barista handed the Frappuccino to the dashing handsome idol in front her.
“Anyeonghasaeyo.” Jisoo smiled shyly. He was casually dressed in jeans and white polo, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, & sunglasses to complete the entire ensemble.
He paid and thanked her and returned to his seat. She was late. Nayeon was late. Oh never mind, he thought. At least apart from the coffee house staff, no one else was there staring at him.
Jinwoo and his friend of a friend selected this coffee house. The place was way secluded… or maybe ‘deserted’ was a better term. Celebrities can date here, Jisoo told himself.
Jisoo was lost in his thoughts when he heard the barista exchange excited giggles again.
“Whoah! It’s Jennie” one of them said.
Jisoo removed his sunglasses. Yes, it was Jennie.
Jennie… who isn’t his type.
The last one on his list, or can be excluded form his list.
Dugeun… dugeun… dugeun…
He gets the same feeling.
He felt it again.
Same feeling back in 2016. In SBS Gayo Daejun. When he couldn’t look straight into her eyes.
Damn Jisoo, he thought. She might hear your heart beating too fast.
Why does this girl make me fell nervous? Jisoo’s thought were racing. He was not sure which was faster though, his heartbeat or his thought.
She’s not my type… she’s not my type… she’s not my type… he chanted in his head. Why am I so nervous?
Jennie nervously clutched her bag, upon seeing the handsome Jisoo, sitting in the coffeehouse. She bowed to the staff upon entering and went straight to him.
“Hi.” She smiled. “where’s Joy?”
“Oh, Joy’s not here.” Jisoo replied. “I’m his… I’m his…”
“You’re his…?” Jennie asked.
This is way too awkward. “Substitute, I guess.” Jisoo managed to say.
They exchanged quick sentences without even looking at each other’s eyes.
“Have a seat.” Jisoo offered.
“May I take a seat?” Jennie asked.
They both said at the same time.
For five minutes they didn’t say a word. Five long minutes. Nor they looked at each other. Spell AWKWARD. Jennie got up and excused herself to buy a drink.
“No, I’ll buy you a drink, what do you want?” Jisoo asked, blushing, still not looking at her.
“Why are we so awkward, Jisoo-ssi?” Jennie blatantly asked.
“You’re not my type Jennie-ssi.” With that answer Jisoo close his eyes, “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to…”
“That’s pretty honest. I like it. You want me to be honest? Look at me Jisoo.” She demanded. “Oh, wait. I’ll buy coffee first…”
“I said I’ll get you.” He reminded her.
“OK, I’ll have a café Americano.”
Jisoo returned with the coffee in his hand, unsure of why he and Jennie are into this conversation.
“What should I call you? Everyone calls you Jisoo, so should I call you Jisoo? Jichu? Chu?... l
