summer's delight
oh my, oh my, my summer’s delight!
has the sun painted your skin?
or have you hidden under the shadow’s might?
shall you ask me what I think
as I beg a spare of your time.
under the trees for a quick nik?
for all my flesh remembers is you
and the way the south wind pinched our skins
as we bike around the village pint
did I wait? Of course, darling. I counted.
I counted all the time wasted,
for time is a waste without you and me in it
