To be a Degenerate.
Third Time's the Charm [Discontinued]
When Soonbok woke up this dreaded morning to attend the wedding of Jongin’s ex, she had a gut feeling the day would not proceed smoothly. However, nothing would have prepared her for the scenario she found herself in now. Sighing listlessly, Soonbok picked the groom’s dry blood from her nails, her back ached from the poor quality plastic chair. Next to her, Sehun was mumbling something under his breath, looking very much possessed.
The pair made quite a visual impact. The embroidered nightingale details on Soonbok’s dress had been tainted by blood, creating an ombre effect. Furthermore, the blood stains eerily matched her faded red hair. Meanwhile, Sehun’s freshly pressed shirt was now dishevelled and served as canvas to an abstract art piece painted using blood. His suit jacket was nowhere to be seen and his tie hang loosely around his neck. Without any context, the nurse and doctor pair could have easily been misidentified as a Bonnie and Clyde wannabe couple. The fact they were currently sitting in the police station only strengthened the comparison.
Sitting opposite them was Kyungsoo in his pristine police uniform. The male tugged at his collar as he attempted to remove the aforementioned imagery from his mind. A tall officer with absurdly large ears exited from the interrogation room and approached them. He crouched down next to Kyungsoo, whispering softly in his ear.
“Thanks Yeol, I’ll take over from here.” Kyungsoo nodded, giving his partner a firm pat on his shoulders.
The tall male straightened his back but did not leave immediately. Instead he turned towards Soonbok and gave her one big toothy smile.
“Officer Park Chanyeol at your service,” he introduced himself. “I’m officially your fan nurse Gae.”
After announcing that, Chanyeol gave a 90 degrees bow before excusing himself. Kyungsoo scratched his neck, unsure of how to react. Sehun choked on the air he was breathing. Soonbok blinked expressionlessly as she kept her eyes on the retreating back of her new fanboy.
“Officer Doh, should I conduct a mental health assessment on officer Park?”
Kyungsoo chuckled softly at Soonbok’s reaction. Noting that Sehun was looking rather restless in his chair, Kyungsoo decided it was time to wrap this whole mess up.
“We’ve spoken to the other guests. We’ve concluded you two have done nothing wrong and that it was all just an unfortunate incident,” Kyungsoo stated calmly. “No charges will be pressed against either of you.”
“Obviously not,” Sehun slammed his hand on the table. “I’m utterly innocent. Why was I even brought here to begin with?”
“It’s just a formality okay?” Kyungsoo stared at Sehun the way a parent would when chiding a child. “I need you both to give your written statements and then you are free to go.”
Opening his drawer, Kyungsoo took out two pieces of paper and two pens. He slid these across to Soonbok and Sehun, urging them to get started.
“People are idiots. Marriage is overrated. That wedding venue lacked architectural integrity — the city should probably investigate,” Soonbok listed. “End of statement.”
“Nurse Gae I beg you,” Sehun groaned. “Can’t you cooperate just once?”
Inhaling deeply, Kyungsoo forwent any attempts to maintain his professionalism. Rubbing his neck in a clockwise motion, he looked utterly done with life. His attention though quickly shifted towards the entrance as a noisy group of people who appeared to be foreigners were brought in. The poor rookie Seulgi had been left to tame them whilst her partner Minho yelled random words in different languages in an attempt to establish communications.
They ended up settling down with E
