Chapter 23 - Paris Part 1
MAYDAY
"Deal?"
"Deal."
As long as she was with him, anywhere was okay... for her... he'll do anything.
They arrived in France, Paris, sometime early in the morning. They were sitting at one of the cafes, near the river, drinking their morning coffee, while the girl played in the kid's areas. Like all kids, they had a lot of energy and the jet lag didn't affect them, unlike the grown-ups. One would think that being a pilot makes it easier, but it doesn't. Pilot or no pilot the jet lag is real for all.
"You sure about that?" Areum asked.
"About Disney Land?" He questioned, taking a sip out of his coffee.
Areum nodded her head. Before they had arrived Baekhyun had promised the girls to take them to Dinsey Land, and knowing her daughter Ari and Nari, they got super excited about it and Jieun followed close behind in their footsteps. That child adored Ari and Nari, and together they were the dream team, and out of control, for sure.
"You are creating monsters," Areum hummed playfully.
"Adorable monsters," He winked. "I can't help myself!"
"So I see," Areum winked back." You have been warned though."
"I'll take my chances," He chuckled.
Just as Areum was about to say something when little Ari came running toward them.
"Nari and Jieun want to know when is the trip to Disney Land?" The little girl grinned.
Areum narrowed her eyes as she knew her daughter well. "You mean, you want to know."
Ari chuckled. "I've been caught again, haven't I?"
"You always use the same trick," Areum winked. "Besides, I know how you breathe, sweet daughter of mine."
The little girl giggled, as Baekhyun watched the two in amusement before clearing his throat and answering her question. "How does tomorrow sound?"
"Sounds great!" Ari grinned and ran off to tell them.
"Don't go too far! We are leaving soon!" Areum called out after Ari. "What's the plan?" She then looked at Baekhyun.
He smirked. "And if I don't tell you?" The male .
"Tease," She rolled her eyes playfully.
"You know, I am," He winked. "Besides it's no fun if I tell you."
"Why do I have a feeling that you are up to something?" Areum squinted her eyes at him.
"Hmm..." He placed his index finger on his chin. "Sorry, love. You'll have to wait." he stuck his tongue out at her.
Knowing him she had no other choice but to let it go. She was about to say something but Eunji and Jongin joined them, bringing some sweets with them.
"Coffee without sweets?" Eunji scoffed. "Not a chance!"
Jongin chuckled. "She's a cake monster."
"The more sweets they eat, the sweeter they become," Baekhyun winked.
He earned a glare from the two but he shrugged it off playfully as Jongin did the same. It was impossible to be mad at them as they always found a way around it.

Eventually, the couples separated and went their own ways. Jieun went with her parents, as Ari and Nari followed Baekhyun and Areum. The deal was to meet later since Eunji's mom promised to babysit them while the grown-ups enjoyed their night.
"No peeking!" Baekhyun chuckled as he led Areum towards her surprise.
"She's not," Ari giggled.
"We are making sure of it!" Nari jumped in.
"You girls..." Areum mumbled.
"Good job, girls!" Baekhyun high-fived them.
Areum wasn't sure how long it had passed, but they eventually came to a stop. Baekhyun removed the scarf from her eyes and placed his hands on her shoulders.
"You can open them now," He whispered.
Areum slowly opened her eyes blinking before her eyes widened in shock and she looked around. There was a huge mansion right in front of her. It was made out of three parts. The middle building structure was the main one, while the other two were a bit smaller. One was a summer hang-out area and the other was a wooden pavilion.
Before the entrance laid a garden with beautiful flowers and roses, bushes cut neatly as they circled around, and benches placed in between them. It was beautiful and well preserved despite its age. It was like a fairytale.
Ari and Nari started running around the garden, observing the flowers and pointing out the really pretty ones. Like all kids, it was a new place and they wanted to explore it. Every inch of every corner mattered.
"It's all yours," Baekhyun said softly.
"W-what?" She murmured. "You're crazy... why would you-"
"I wanted to," He said. "Why would I need a special reason to make my woman happy?"
"You are enough," She whispered. "Thank you, I really love it, but babe, material stuff isn't important to me."
"I know," He nodded his head and smiled. "But I want you and Ari to live a comfortable life, just like your brother made sure that you live a comfortable life."
She turned around and hugged him tightly. "Silly, I love you anyway, so please, don't spend too much on such things.."
"I love you, too," He mumbled. "But I want to do it."
"Stubborn," She rolled her eyes.
"Always, but there's more. I don't want to hear it," He smiled pulling away to look at her. "Seeing a smile on your face is my treasure, besides, this is nothing."
She blushed slightly as his lips found hers. Byun Bakehyun was surely one of the most hardheaded people she had met. He and her brother were surely the same.
"Shall we look around with the two bundles of joy?" He grinned.
"Let's go," She smiled.
*
The day itself was really relaxing and Areum and Baekhyun were even able to catch up on some sleep while Ari and Nari played in their new room. Eunji's mom would be coming over with Jieun as they decided to stay in the mansion, mostly because the girls requested it and no one could say no to those bundles of joy. When they wanted something, they found a way to get it.
"Listen to the woman, alright, girls?" Areum looked at them. "I am not kidding. Have in mind that she is an elderly woman, and she needs rest."
The girls nodded. "You don't need to worry." Ari grinned.
"I do worry," Areum blinked. "Lat time her back was aching but she didn't want to make you guys sad, so please, keep it down a notch, okay?"
"We promise!" The girls said in one voice.
Areum was about to add something else, but the doorbell went off, and the two girls clapped and ran to the door. Areum shook her head. At times those two were a handful at times. Of course, Areum understood they were kids and like all kids, they had a lot of energy, but at times it was a bit too much, and at times limits had to be set. They had to learn that not everyone could keep up with their tempo... but it didn't always work. They were only kids, and they meant no harm, but still.
"Aunt, Re!"
Areum smiled as she spotted Jieun running toward her. She knelt down and opened her arms. The moment the little girl approached, Areum hugged her tightly.
"And uncle Baek?" The male pouted.
Jieun giggled and ran
