State of Confusion
Fireflies: The Man From Nowhere SequelState of Confusion
So Mi did not know what was happening to her.
She lost Amber for reasons she did not understand.
The notes were still coming.
Things between her and Ahjussi were at times strained, while at times strangely intimate.
Ever since the attack on the street, and again with the incident in Muju, Taesik has been like a hawk over her.
Insisting she reported her whereabouts to him.
Worrying over and calling her whenever she was not with him.
Strangely, she did not mind his over protective tendencies and at times enjoyed teasing him over his paranoia.
But she did finally share the fact about the threat notes with Min Sung.
(Flashback)
"What? Why are telling me about this just now?" he asked her angrily. "Do think so little of me? I had to find out about the attack from Amber. And then Amber herself disappeared."
He paced the pavement outside the university cafe.
"Now I I find out that you've been getting threats for almost a year?" he ran his hand through his hair exasperatingly. "I thought as a law enforcer, I would be the first that you seek help from?"
"Mianhe, I didn't mean it that way? I didn't even tell Amber, or my parents."
So-Mi tried to justify herself.
"But you told your Ahjussi."
The statement was said in a dangerously low voice.
"He was in the fight with me...!"
So-Mi again tried to state her case.
"And his friends? They know too, don't they?"
And she had no excuse that time.
"Well, Chi-gon ahjussi is..."
"Also a cop, I know," he finished her sentence for her. "You told your 'uncles' but not your boyfriend?"
She looked up him. Not really knowing what to say.
"But then again, I'm not really your boyfriend, am I? Or at least, not yet?"
Again she kept silent, uncertain.
"Stay with me, So-Mi."
The request came so suddenly.
"Mwo?"
"I mean, it's weird that you are spending more and more time with that ahjussi, and with the men that visit the place all the time."
"Dalseo and Chi-gon ahjussis?' So-Mi asked in surprise. "They are family."
"So-Mi, I'll put my men 24/7 to look after you. How's that? At your Omma's. I can even get a patrol car to drive you around."
So Mi laughed at the suggestion.
"And I just wonder what the tax payers will say to that," she smiled. "All that resources wasted on one single citizen."
"You are not just another citizen, So-Mi. You're special. To me."
Lee pleaded again, his hands on her shoulders this time.
"Stay with me. Nothing more, just as a room mate."
But all he got was a confused stare from her.
