The Diet Plan

But he was confused. If he regrets it, then why did he say "next time?"

Fortunately, that "next time" didn't come any time soon.

Of course everything was fine. It's like they had a silent, mutual agreement to forget anything and everything that had happened while the rest of the members were out. It wasn't healthy for them to think about it too much when they have a comeback ahead of them. After countless of dance practices, Junghwan being the one to mess up more than the others, lectures and motivation from the leader, more dance practices, and a bunch of stressful make out sessions with a certain rapper, they were all set. And they couldn't wait to get on stage.

They made their comeback without a hitch, releasing the album on the 6th, as promised. A day or two later, the music video was on the internet, and on the ninth, they had their first comeback stage on Mnet Mcountdown. You could practically feel the tension in the air since every member was nervous. They sang "Yesterday" before going backstage to change outfits and perform "What's Going On." They were supposed to look neutral or have facial expressions that match the lyrics, but whenever Junghwan sees or makes eye contact with the fans, he couldn't help but smile and grin.

The next day was just as hectic. They performed another comeback stage on Music Bank O-Song Special on a big outdoor stage, and it was such a nice day that Junghwan couldn't help but be a bit more passionate. There were also other performers such as 4minute, BEAST, SHINee, SISTAR, BTOB, INFINITE, SECRET, Jay Park, and K. Will who performed regular stages. Even though the huge amount of fans weren't all BANAs, Junghwan was still happy to see them. Fans are precious to idols.

They've also made a dance practice video for "What's Going On" since the responses to the last one were good. All the members wore matching outfits consisting of big, white tees and black, baggy basketball shorts. In the beginning, their entrance, playing around, and randomness was filmed before starting the practice. They danced two times, not counting their actual dance practices, to shoot at two different distances. After finishing the last dance, they thanked the backup dancers before crowding around the camera, panting and sweating. Sunwoo had hurt his finger, but Junghwan couldn't care less, making a face and looking at the camera.

The group played around some more before trying to end the video nicely. Jinyoung, Chansik, and Sunwoo were in front of the camera, throwing comments back and forth and coming up with poses, while Junghwan and Dongwoo were behind them, the latter flinging Junghwan towards the air conditioner. He savored the blasts of cool air one last time before joining Dongwoo and the members in front of the camera. Sunwoo had come up with a pose and started to countdown, expecting the others to follow along. They didn't. But for the sake of ending the video, they tried again, and all five posed at the same time, staying frozen for a few seconds before relaxing. And that was the end of that.

In Junghwan's opinion their fourth mini-album, "What's Going On," is their best album as of yet. Even though it only has five songs, it was enough to show their talent and passion for music. The album has songs of various genres that they haven't done before such as hip-hop and R&B. One of the songs, "Good Love," was composed by Jinyoung and written by Sunwoo and Dongwoo and "really something that came from experience." The song's lyrics explains a love gradually cooling down between two lovers. Since there are feelings from experiences Jinyoung had a long time ago and experiences from Sunwoo and Dongwoo, they consider it to be the best song in the album. Junghwan doesn't know whether to be jealous of the fact that the three have been in what were probably wonderful relationships, or be thankful that he hasn't experienced parting with a lover.

Junghwan had been wearing shorts as part of the fun and funky concept of their title track, "What's Going On" and they reminded him of his childhood. The playing around and getting scolded, the crying and watching his parents put band-aids on his scraped knee. It was kind of like that now. There are many of things B1A4 have to go through, as a group, to keep doing what they love. Good things, bad things, weird things. But in the end, they will always have each other.

Now, when did he get all sentimental all of a sudden? It really doesn't suit him.

After around a week of promoting, something big had finally occurred. On the May 18th episode of Music Core B1A4 won #1, beating newcomer Roy Kim, girl group 4minute, and even the goddess Lee Hyori. It all happened so fast. The MCs were announcing things Junghwan couldn't remember, and it was a tense moment for him and the rest as they paid attention to the results. The next thing he knew, people were cheering and clapping and they were all in a big group hug shedding tears of shock and happiness. It was their very first win on a major show since their debut two years ago and they couldn't help but be emotional.

Junghwan stood behind Jinyoung, head down as he listened to their leader struggle with words as he thanked the company, staff members, and other people, Chansik helping him from the side. And at the very last second, just before they were about to be off the air, Jinyoung was able to thank their fans.

They celebrated that night by eating dinner at a local restaurant near their dorm. Their manager was proud of them and told them they could order anything they wanted; it was all on him. As much as Junghwan would like to take the opportunity to eat until he couldn't eat no more, he didn't want the manager's wallet to be empty. It was late at night and there were only a few customers apart from them, making the service faster. They decided to get large portions and share it amongst themselves, chatting excitedly as they waited for the food to arrive. When it did, they held a toast for getting first place, bringing their drinks together and cheering.

The group immersed themselves in a world of food, not talking at all and just concentrating on eating. Their manager broke the silence by lightly joking on how they seemed to prefer food than each other. Sunwoo placed his arms around Junghwan and Chansik's shoulders, "I don't know what you're talking about," he feigned being offended. "As you can see, our love for each other isn't something food can break." He nodded his head in affirmation before continuing to eat off of Junghwan's plate.

Chansik shrugged the rapper's arm off before taking a piece of meat from Sunwoo's plate, making Junghwan smile in approval. "Hyung," he said, reffering to Sunwoo. "I don't know what you're talking about either."

And so began the war of eating off of each other's plates between the three youngest members. Sunwoo was at a disadvantage since he's sitting between Junghwan and Chansik and he seemed to be the target of both of them. They were a giggling mess of "yah"s, wooden chopsticks, and tangled arms as each one tried to defend their plate and steal off of one another's. The oldest hyungs just smiled and watched, Jinyoung telling them to be careful. Sunwoo surrendered when he almost knocked over a glass of water and their manager told them to stop playing around, looking sternly at each of them before grabbing the last piece of meat off of Sunwoo's plate.

The rest of dinner went by smoothly. Sunwoo forced Junghwan to feed him kimchi, squeezing his thigh until the other finally gave in and brought the chopsticks to his mouth. They held eye contact for a second before Sunwoo patted him on the head, telling him he was a good slave and that he'll be rewarded accordingly. Junghwan didn't appreciate the comment and pinched Sunwoo's arm, making the other pout and rub the spot that was hurt while calling Junghwan a meanie.

Everybody started relaxing once they were done eating. Junghwan and Sunwoo were playing a little game at the corner of their booth, Jinyoung was on his phone, and Dongwoo was finishing up eating. Chansik had just come back from the restroom when their manager announced that they were going leave soon and it would be a perfect time to use the restroom if needed. Junghwan stood up, saying he needed to wash his hands, while Sunwoo said he needed to pee. Junghwan scrunched his face, slapping the other's shoulder before turning to Chansik to ask directions to the restroom.

"Wait," Junghwan halted in the middle of a short hallway, causing Sunwoo to bump into him. They were currently looking for the restroom and for some reason they couldn't find it. "Did Channie say turn right at the obviously fake plant or left?"

"I don't know. You tell me," Sunwoo said carelessly, fixing his hat before getting hit by Junghwan. "Ow! Left, he said left."

        "Okay, let's go~"

The younger just grunted in reply.

"Sunwoo, I swear we passed by this painting a few minutes ago."

"They probably have the same painting everywhere."

"No, this is the same one, see? There's a smudge on the wall next to it."

        "So?"

"So we just passed by here because I accidentally smudged the wall with my oily fingers!"

"Okay, okay - oh hey, look," the rapper points to a sign on the wall. "'Restrooms.'"

"It's been right here all along?" Junghwan asked in disbelief.

"Guess so," Sunwoo shrugged before going in. A second later the door swung open, almost hitting Junghwan.

        "Wha–"

        "Wrong one."

        "Oh."

The men's restroom was empty, which makes sense since they were pretty much the only customers left in the restaurant. Junghwan headed to the sink, getting some soap and rubbing them on his hands before putting them under the faucet, the water automatically coming out. He was busy rinsing, making sure they weren't oily anymore, that he didn't notice Sunwoo go up to the sink farthest away from him. Junghwan was about to go dry his hands when he felt water droplets hit his face. He turned to see Sunwoo grinning at him with his now-straight teeth, hands dripping wet.

"You little punk!" Junghwan managed to shout in his manliest voice before giggling and flicking water at the other. After about a minute of chasing each other, running back to the sink to re-wet their hands, making senseless threats, and laughing like maniacs, the pair stopped to catch their breath, both of them grinning at each other. "Hey, Sunwoo, didn't you say you needed to pee?"

"That's what I said." Junghwan opened his mouth but Sunwoo cut him off with his own question. "Your hands are clean now, right?" Junghwan nodded his head before Sunwoo grabbed his hand and led him to the last of the three stalls, sliding the latch to lock the door.

"So," Junghwan watched his band mate grab some toilet paper and closing the toilet lid, wiping it afterwards before plopping himself down. "What's up?"

        Sunwoo sighed. "I'm tired."

Junghwan instantly became serious. "I'm tired" can mean so many different things. Was it because of his so-called diet plan? Or is it the idol life? Family problems, maybe? So many things are running through his head as he stood there, staring at his best friend.

        "What?"

"I mean, I just finished eating and we were walking around for a long time, then you decided to play around in here and now my side hurts."

Junghwan breathed a sigh of relief. So it wasn't serious (or about his diet plan) after all.

"Junghwannie, were you worried?" Suwnoo smiled teasingly.

"Of course! I thought it was something important."

        "Well, it's your fault."

"Yah, you started it! I was just an innocent bystander."

"Being innocent can get you in trouble." And for some reason, Junghwan thought that Sunwoo's statement meant something else. Or maybe that's just him.

Junghwan pouted. What were they doing in a bathroom stall anyway?

        "Sit."

        "Huh?"

"Come here and sit," Sunwoo motioned Junghwan to come towards him, but the other just glared.

"No. Who are you to order me around–" Junghwan yelped when felt the other grab his hand and yank him towards his seat on the toilet lid. Sunwoo pulled him downwards and grabbed him by the waist, positioning him so Junghwan was straddling his lap.

        "Your kissing partner, that's who."

Junghwan blushed and continued to look at anything but his "kissing partner," missing the smile that was on Sunwoo's face.

First of all, HERE. BAM. UPDATE. Took me long enough

Second, if anybody cares, yes, I passed my finals (and all my classes, Yay~ :D)

Third, I've been so distracted lately (asdfghjkl Wolf 88 VIXX MBLAQ) and tried to catch up on anything B1A4. Interviews, variety shows, etc.

Fourth, this has to be one of the iest chapters.

And fifth, I only expected this fic to be about 10 chapters, but I think it's going to be longer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you and I'm really, really, really sorry this took so long. I'll try to update faster. Say, before this month ends?

Like this story? Give it an Upvote!

Chapter 15: I keep coming back to reread this because it's just sooo good. Of course there's flaws especially with the transitioning of scenes etc but who really cares when your characters have such strong voices and your writing is good, you just lack a bit ot technique. Tip: no need to explain in such details about their daily schedule, we don't have to know unless it's relevant. Since it's been years already I guess maybe you have learned it by now but I wanted to point it out anyway. GOOD LORD I LOVE THIS FIC. It's just somehow soooo cute and sweet and exciting and I'm really curious to what happens in the other half of this chapter that you never released?? I know maybe you don't WANT TO update this fic anymore but just in case that you DO then please do so, no one cares that it's been ages or that your style has changed. We just enjoy reading it^^ good night!
