Moments
“Mom, I’ll be in my room.”
Taking the glass of milk and a plate full of mayo sandwiches from the counter, I went to my room. I placed the glass and plate on top of the bedside table. I took my phone placed beside the glass and opened it to see if there are any messages.
As expected, there were none.
I hummed. Then, I settled my phone down back to its place. I was about to walk towards the balcony when my phone rang. Sighing, I walked back to take my phone. I didn’t take the time to look at the caller’s name; I just pressed that green button and brought the phone next to my ear.
“Hello?” I answered.
No answer was heard.
“Jennie, a friend is looking for you!” My mother’s voice reached the room.
I covered the mouthpiece of my phone to shout back. “Coming!”
I went back to the call. “Who is this?”
“Come see me,” said the caller. After that reply, the call ended.
I stared at my phone for a few moments. I clicked the call log and saw Hanbin’s name. I let out a gasp.
“Come see me? Why should I? He’s in Korea while me-“
“Jennie!”
When I heard my mother, I ran out of my room and went to where she is at the moment. She was at the door, talking to someone.
