Tiffany’s POV

I walk out on the street and take a deep breath maybe one of the deepest one’s I’ll take today. I push the doors open and start walking down the hallways of my new school. All the kid’s whispers fill my ears about “the new girl” I keep my head down and speed up slightly to get to my locker. I open it and just as I do this someone leans against the locker next to me.

“Hello gorgeous.” A boy says flashing me a smile, “My name’s Dae-Jung, what’s yours?” He asks.

“Tiffany.” I say quietly closing my locker.

“That’s a nice name. What do you say about having lunch with me today?” He asks.

“Thanks for the offer but no.” I shake my head.

“Are you sure?” He jogs to catch up with me walking closely next to me.

“Yes, I’m sure.” I walk into my class.

“Hello, what is your name?” The teacher asks me.

“My name is Tiffany Hwang, sir.” I bow slightly.

“Well students, meet our new student, Tiffany Hwang, Tiffany, go sit over there next to Tao.” The teacher says pointing over to a very handsome guy with dark hair. I go over to him.

“Hi.” I sit down.

“Hello.” He says.

“She’s so lucky.” A girl says glaring at me like almost all the other girls here. I hear even more jealous whispers from the girls, some a little more insulting than others.

“Just ignore them.” Tao whispers to me.

“Thanks.” I give him a light smile. He nods and continues to take notes. I look at him; he’s very muscular but not overly so, I can see that he has a few scars on his arms. I frown at them but I shrug it off and return to my notes, maybe an animal attacked him. I rub my neck slightly but quickly drop it again, stop it, what if a slayer would see you do this? I mentally scold myself. The bell rings and I gather up my stuff and walk out the room. I take another deep breath and I can smell a sweet scent coming up from behind me. I turn around and see Tao coming up to me.

“So how are you doing, enjoying your day so far?” He asks.

“Yeah it’s quite nice.” I shrug.

“That’s good, I was wondering if you’d have lunch with me?” He asks shyly unlike Dae-Jung who was overly confident.

“Alright.” I smile grabbing my lunch and walking with him to the cafeteria.

“So these are my friends Xiumin, Lay, and Luhan. Guys, meet Tiffany.” He points to three guys.

“Hello.” They all smile at me. I take out my lunch; lasagna.

“I’ll just go heat this up.” I go to the microwave. While I’m walking over to it, a girl sticks her leg out to trip me but I easily step over it.

“Those girls are giving you a hard time.” Tao frowns.

“I’ll be okay.” I reassure him.

“Why is he hanging out with her?” I hear a girl whisper loudly from the table next to us.

“Why would he?” Another replies. Ouch, I wince. I feel a hand pat mine slightly.

“Remember, just ignore them.” Tao smiles warmly, if you knew what I was, you wouldn’t be so kind.
