Knight in Shining Armour
Description
This might be a crack fic, might just be a tiny one-shot, we'll see how it plays out. Set in Medieval Britain (wtf?!).
The King and Queen are looking for a suitor for Princess Wheein. Hundreds of princes travel far to the Kingdom of Moo to see the beautiful princess, but after seeing more than enough princes, Wheein exclaims that she does not want any of them. Her father pressures her into meeting one more prince, assuring her that she will not be able to resist his charms, but when he finally arrives with an entourage of his castle staff, Wheein finds herself falling for one of his most trusted knights instead: Byulyi.
A/N: Definitely not gonna be a crackfic, lol. It's heading in the angst direction...
Foreword
Wheein heard a knock on the door of her chambers.
"Who is it?" she called out curiously.
"My lady, it is Byulyi, Prince Sungbin's chief knight," the voice replied courteously.
Immediately, the princess scrambled around her room trying to make it look presentable before she let Byulyi in. Being only a teenager she usually had absolutely no interest in keeping her room tidy, but the prospect of such a handsome knight seeing her quarters sent those interest levels sky-high.
"May I come in?" Byulyi asked politely.
"Hold on a second!" Wheein replied hurriedly. She caught sight of herself in the mirror and her eyes bulged at what she saw.
'All the bloody times in the world to look disgusting, and life picks now,' she thought to herself with an internal scream as she grabbed her hairbrush. She could hear no sounds from outside her room, wondering if Byulyi had left from being kept waiting so long and quickly ran to her door.
She paused for a comedic breath before opening the door.
"Hi," she smiled, "sorry about that - I was undressed," she lied, wanting to see if it did anything to the incredibly attractive knight before her.
Byulyi almost choked.
"I-it's fine, my lady," Byulyi mustered out some words.
"Good," Wheein said with giggle, "so, you wanted to speak with me?" She twirled her hair around her fingers cutely.
"Yes," the knight began, "Prince Sungbin wanted me to deliver a message to you."
Wheein groaned, "why him?" she muttered to herself.
Byulyi ignored the Princess' remark and continued.
"He wanted to know if you'll meet him later in the gardens," Byulyi asked.
Wheein gave a look as if to say 'do I have to?' and shrugged.
"I don't know, should I?" she asked.
"Pardon me, Princess, but that isn't exactly my place to say," Byulyi responded with a polite bow of her head.
"Ugh," Wheein groaned, "will you be there?"
Byulyi seemed startled by Princess Wheein's question, "erm," she cleared , "usually I won't be far from the Prince."
"So that's a yes?"
"Sort of."
"Then tell Prince Sungmin--"
"Sungbin," Byulyi corrected.
"Whatever," Wheein laughed, "tell that boring Prince that I'll meet him later."
"As you wish, your highness," the knight said politely as she bowed.
