I kiss you... but only in dreams.

Despite the morning light outside, the inside of his room is dark. Forever dark.

He looks at the bed. Too forward.

He looks at the kitchen counter. Too suggestive.

He looks at the empty couch. Perfect.

"Miss... Miss? Can you hear me? You need to wake now. You need to wake..." He is begging in desperation. They cannot reach happiness without expressing themselves.

Her closed eyes tell him she is still beyond his reach, outside his circle of influence. Time... time is running out for him.

What must he do? What can he do?

If she cannot speak... than he will. He will tell her his most sincere feelings. He will make an effort to understand her. He will be honest. He will be true.

"Miss... I've seen you quite often these past few weeks... these past few months... and I like you. I like you very much." A heavy weight lifts from his chest and he continues most anxiously. "And I know... I know what you've been through. I can see it inside of you. That hurt you're carry... inside of you. I can see it. Your pain."

Her face remains stolid. So he tries. He tries again.

"I... I know hurt, miss. I've lost someone very dear to me. I know what it is to suffer. But... but we can find happiness again. We can find happiness together."

Can I kiss you?

A kiss... to find happiness... his kind of happiness.
