Make It Count

“You are so…!” Ga Eul pulls away immediately whilst having her hands over mouth, giving the side-eye at the guy whose face showing indifference. That one thing Jongdae told her just now made all her fingers and toes curl up before she whines, lightly hitting the other’s arms. “Jeez, you’re corny. Who would’ve still believe those stuff these days?”
“I do, I believe it. Now what you’re going to do about it?” The guy almost gets himself standing up as he remains firm with his stance on believing confession or couples that be with each other during the first snow would last for a long time. In defence to Ga Eul’s words, he frowns, “Somehow I’m built this way…!” However his confidence did not last that long when he starts having a second thought on it, blushes as he scratches his head and asks quietly, “Do you think I’m really lame?”
“Totally.” Ga Eul hides a smile behind another sips of instant coffee she made at the pantry earlier, carefully placing the mug again on the table – maintaining a nonchalant attitude in front of the other. “That’s your charm though.”
She doesn’t need to spare a glance to know that her man is flustered upon those words yet remains cool despite wanting to laugh over that flushed face. “Okay then, let’s spend some time together when the first snow comes. The weather’s cold so it’d be a lot better to have someone to share the warmth with, isn’t it?”
Jongdae pretends not to hear, instead, he scoots away from the lady to another side of the couch – pulling off his sulky act as his lips pouts and stirring his hot chocolate in a childlike manner.
Amused, soft yet lively chuckles burst from Ga Eul’s mouth before she leans towards her man, nose crinkles, “You’re adorable, Mr. Kim.” Her hand flies to cup those cheeks, squeezing them together. And no words needed, only with the former’s puppy eyes and playful giggles is enough to make Jongdae gives in – his eyes roll yet lips in a smile before the office space is filled another series of their laughter.
“Is there anything you’d love to do that day?”
“Anything.” Jongdae whispers, turning his face sideways to land loving kisses on those palms that stay on his cheeks. “Even standing outside together and watch the sky quietly would make me happy.” The statement then supported with rapid nods right after as he receives a doubtful squint from the other. “I’m serious…! I simply want to spend that moment with you, so anything is fine with me.”
“What the…?” The lady pulls away immediately as she strikes a judging look to her boyfriend. There is one thing that does not really add up here – Jongdae’s wish sounds too simple and pure, almost like someone who never experience any relationship, or even a crush. Perhaps Baekhyun once said it before that this man has never been in one but for a person like this, who is a complete package, it almost does not make sense. And it could be that Baekhyun was simply exaggerating stuff at that moment. “Wait, there’s something I’m wondering of.” She flutters her eyes open, meeting a curious pair of eyes. For a second, her lips pressed onto each other, brows furrowing, “You’ve been in the relationship before, right? I mean, I’m not the first gir–”
“You’re the first.” He blinks a few times, innocently. “This is my first relationship. You’re the first person I fall in love with.”
“No way.”
“I’m not kidding…!” The guy then reaches for Ga Eul’s hand before jiggling it lightly, a grin glues to that face of his. “Oh, and you’re also my first kiss.”
The space goes dead silent in that split second for Ga Eul was in utter disbelief hearing those statement that has been pointed out casually by the man – then one arm swings, hitting the guy straight to his thigh.
“Crazy punk.” Her lips are still gaping, flickering at her boyfriend whose body is curling to avoid any more attack. However she is quicker to extend another arm, this time pinching Jongdae here and there with each question she asks – filling the space with the younger’s plea. “Are you in your right mind, Kim Jongdae? How can I be the first? Your first love is someone’s older than you? A person like me? You’re thinking straight, aren’t you?”
“What? So what if you’re older?” Jongdae ends up getting off the couch, a few steps away from her while hugging himself. “And what do you mean by a person like you? As if it is a bad thing.”
“You know me! I’m not particularly likeable in the first place.” One finger points to that face, threatening, “And don’t even try to sugar-coat it! I at least know that much about me.”
“You’re right.” Jongdae squints to an empty space, hisses
