Yangyang made his way back to his tent from the lake, glancing at the angry rainclouds. He had been out waterskiing all day with the rest of the people at this Summer retreat, but didn't feel like getting struck by lightning. Just as he made it to his tent, he heard the rain begin pouring, smiling at the good luck he had this time.

Peering out at the downpour, his smile widened as he noticed that several other people hadn't been so lucky, screaming and making a mad dash for their tents or campers. He knew it wasn't very nice to take joy in others' misfortune, but it really was a funny sight.

The young man's smile faded when he noticed one person, in particular, wearing a dark green raincoat and faded, torn blue jeans that clung to the man's lean frame. He would recognize that body anywhere. Huang Guanheng. from the safety of his tent, he watched him make his way to his own tent, seemingly unconcerned about the rain. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it instead. Yangyang remembered that about him, knowing that he was a risk-taker. Yangyang watched him until he disappeared into his tent, lementing the moment when he couldn't stare at his wet form in those pants.

Guanheng stripped his wet jeans and underwear off, changing into fresh clothes and opting for sweatpants this time. He was freezing and also knew he wouldn't be going out again, unless he absolutely needed to. He knew full well what came out at night, so he was happy that he had remembered his pack of earbuds. putting them in both ears, he turned and pulled out his book, hoping it would be enough to distract his mind from the torture.

After reading for a while, he set his book aside, turning over to try and get some sleep. He was able to fall asleep after a while, but his mind knew what was out there, so he couldn't escape the nightmares that haunted him.

                            *********************

Yangyang woke up late, glad for the restful sleep the peaceful environment gave him. It was a nice break from his job at the college gym, and last night the frogs had helped him drift off to sleep with their soothing tunes. Getting dressed in faded black jeans and a red teeshirt, he pulled his socks and shoes on and stepped outside of his tent. Making his way to the restroom, he glanced at Guanheng's tent, noticing he hadn't left yet. Yangyang had a mission on this trip, and that was to actually get to know the other man better. That was his main goal.

                        *********************

By noon, Yangyang had eaten a chicken sandwich and chips, ready to head back out and enjoy his vacation. Glancing once more toward Guanheng's tent, he noticed that he still hadn't emerged, aside from one quick trip to the restroom. Wondering if he was feeling okay, he made his way to the other man's tent, knocking as well as he could on the canvas.

"Is everything okay? I just, like, haven't seen you out much and hope you're feeling okay," Yangyang knew it wasn't really his place to bother another grown man to get out of bed, but he really was a bit concerned.

Guanheng tensed up when he heard the other man's voice, recognizing it right away. Unable to speak for a moment, he took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you, though," he answered Yangyang quietly.

"Okay. Well, I'll see you in a while, then," Yangyang shrugged, almost certain he had heard some distress hidden in Guanheng's voice. Despite being very curious about what was bothering him, as well as a tiny bit worried, he headed off to the food smelled so good, it caused his mouth to water.

The picnic tables were already filled with campers, mostly students from the local college, but Yangyang decided to keep to himself. He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, and something about the way Guanheng had dismissed him was still nagging at the back of his mind. He was trying to remember what their last meeting had been like, nearly two years ago in high school. He remembered it slightly, but not clearly. The biggest thing that stood out to him was that Guanheng had been very sweet and had helped him pick up his school books when everyone else simply walked by after Yangyang had been knocked down by another student. He had been very kind, and also had a beautiful smile. Yangyang was determined to see that smile again, and the delicious looking food gave him an idea of how he could get through to Guanheng.

Waiting for his turn, he took two plates and began loading them up with food, taking two cups of lemonaid at the end of the table. If Guanheng turned him down, he di
