Bae Joohyun, CEO of Bae Products, and extremely rich.

She had a nice car, a nice penthouse, and a good job. What else could she ask for? Definitely not this.

The sound of an alarm had easily awoken the girl. Looking at the clock it had been already past morning. Joohyun sighed as she raised her arms in order to stretch. Her whole body was sore after taking a not so comfortable nap. Yes, nap- as in a 3 hour nap. Joohyun had been up for the whole night, papers were scattered across the floor that were supposed to be on her desk. Joohyun blinked as she looked at the floor.

"Weren't those papers supposed to be on my desk?" She scratched her hair like a mad man and grumbled "I haven't showered in days."

This was the daily life of Bae Joohyun, CEO of one of Korea's most popular makeup companies. Wake up early, take a shower, go to work, work more, eat, take a nap, then repeat the process. Sometimes, people sacrifice things to get ahead in life, and to Joohyun, it was her dear, precious sleep. Sometimes she wished as if she weren't a CEO, maybe people wouldn't have been so fake if she weren't.

Joohyun had no friends. Being rich also means attracting a lot of selfish people. Joohyun couldn't really make any real good friends because of her reputation, they were either there for her money or too scared to even approach her as a regular person. Except for Sooyoung, she was her best friend and helped her out with a lot of things inside and outside of work. Sooyoung was her secretary, and when things got rough she would usually dump all her work on the poor girl. Speaking of the poor girl, a very loud sound was heard banging on Joohyun's door. . I woke up late.

Joohyun ran to the bathroom to make her look at best presentable (she wasn't) then ran to the door. She knew Sooyoung already had a key to her penthouse, but just knowing that the girl was rampaging on her door instead of actually opening it was to let Joohyun know that she is seriously pissed. Opening the door, Joohyun was greeted by flick on her forehead.

"YAHH!!"

"Don't "YAH!" me! What are you doing unnie!!! I told you there was a very important meeting today, and you MISSED IT! YOU ING MISSED IT WHYYYY" she yelled- hands all over the place. Joohyun winced, then got more pissed by how Sooyoung was acting at her own boss. "DON'T TALK TO YOUR BOSS LIKE THAT"

" YOU"

"IM YOUR UNNIE"

" LIKE I CARE"

A vein started showing on Joohyun's forehead, obviously not showing a good sign. Sooyoung quickly realized what she had said and zipped , later bowing towards the older.

"sorry...." she muttered. Joohyun snickered at the girl's defeat and let the girl inside her penthouse. "I don't feel like working today, cancel everything on my schedule."

Sooyoung stared at her with widened eyes and mouth agape. "BUT UNNIE! IT TOOK ME 6 MONTHS TO GET THAT MEETING WITH MISS KIM!!" she practically whined. Knowing that Joohyun wouldn't care less, she sighed accepted it. "So what are you going to do today? Oh yeah, did you know the penthouse next to yours has finally been bought? Guess how much it was bought for?"

Joohyun raised her brow "1.5 million?" Sooyoung shook her head. "2.5!!!" WHAT!! 2.5 million?? Joohyun's mouth was now also wide open.

"You're ting me, for real?? They must be rich then." Sooyoung snickered "unnie, you have way more money than just 2 million dollars, that's probably nothing for you." Joohyun jokingly slapped her shoulder "money isn't everything, Sooyoung."

But it was true- money can't buy you everything. It's not always about the number you have. Joohyun had come from a very wealthy family, after coming out, she was left with nothing. However, after she finished her business degree, she had slowly started to see her company rise from the bottom. All her hard work had come to this very moment. Sometimes, it was very tiresome to handle a company, but she often enjoyed the feeling.

Sooyung rolled her eyes, "ah yes, I get it. You have money but you don't use it, try not to be wise for once unnie!! It's the modern era, you gotta spend at least some of it" she tried to convince, but it didn't work on the older latter. "No."

"Ugh."

Feeling tired, the black haired girl decided to walk to a nearby café.

"Hi, can I get one hot chocolate please" she asked while looking at the menu. Everything on the menu was basically coffee, and she hated coffee. "Of course. Name?"

"Joohyun."

Joohyun handed over the money and stepped aside to wait for her drink. Looking around, the café had a very nice scenery to it- modern tables, comfy chairs, it sort of had an aesthetically pleasing vibe.

What wasn't so aesthetically pleasing was someone accidentally spilling coffee all over her- including her very expensive blouse.

"What the !!" The coffee was hot. Really hot. She felt the coffee burning down onto her skin sinking through her oh so beautiful (and very expensive) blouse. "Oh god, I'm so sorry!!" Joohyun looked up to see a slightly taller girl with raven black hair and monolid eyes, she was fairly cute to be honest. But cute doesn't stop Joohyun from being angry as hell.

"Are you ing kidding me?! This blouse is expensive!! Probably more expensive than your rent!!" Joohyun screamed. The taller girl winced, taking another look at the shorter's blouse. "I'm really really sorry miss!" The girl exclaimed, grabbing napkins from the nearby table to wipe off the coffee that clearly had engulfed Joohyun's whole shirt.

Joohyun's eyes widened as she screamed in horror. "STOP!! YOU'RE MAKING IT WORSE!"

Little did the taller girl know was that she was smudging the coffee, causing it to spread even more- and yes, making it worse. "I-i.. Uhhh..." she gulped.

Joohyun was already infuriated by this girl, she looked to be way younger than her too. She took a look at her already ruined blouse and sighed, she couldn't demand the girl to pay her for the cost of the blouse, because it was way too expensive- and the girl didn't seem to look like a wealthy girl. She had a regular red flannel on with a pair of black jeans and black boots. She looked like a typical college student.

My day could get any worse.

"I-I'm really sorry..." the mon

Chapter 7: There's finally a breakthrough! Clear progress right here
\(^-^)/ ♡
Jisoo was spot on with her observations about Seulgi and Irene's personality, and I actually do agree that some of those could've made a bad combination had things been different. Had Seulgi not been attracted to Irene's feisty and headstrong personality, there certainly wouldn't be a chasing or pursuing of sorts from Seulgi's end towards Irene. Interestingly enough, their similarities does give them an edge when it comes to their own agenda no matter how people may look at it as a possible setback or cause of issue. On the other hand, their differences are the things that makes it possible for them to be more connected and go seamlessly together in terms of temperament and the like. It was those things that kept them coming back for more. While those traits looked and sounded undesirable and annoying at first glance, it was those things that really grabbed attention and made it stay. Without those things, I think nothing would standout and make both of them stop and look twice at the other.

Irene's backstory was credible enough to make such lasting impact on her that she basically turned into a different person the moment everything was said and done. I don't know what would be Seulgi's own story, but I'm guessing that she might be able to relate and identify enough with Irene because of her own background. Other than her personality, maybe her experience could end up somehow mirroring some of what Irene experienced before. If not, well there would still be no issue anyway. Whatever her story might be, they actually match and fit well with other. Their past won't have much bearing as long as they give each other a chance and remember that they could just make a better history out of the present if they so wish to really let the past stay as the past.

By the way, it turned out that a flustered Joohyun is a laughably adorable and clumsy Joohyun XD More of this please hahaha Not only was it entertaining, it was also a testament to her finally lowering down her walls bit by bit to and for Seulgi.

Chapter 6: Joohyun’s attitude towards Seulgi frustrates me. She belittles Seulgi while at the same time giving her mixed signals. She kept on asking if Seulgi can afford to buy this or that without even realising that she might have hurt Seulgi’s feelings with such questions just because she doesn’t look like those typical rich people. I also wonder if Seulgi’s image is one of the factors why she kept on denying Seulgi’s request for a date. She is conceited and full of herself and I can’t wait to know her reaction once she knows Seulgi’s real identity.

Chapter 6: Well, it would be nice if something were to happen that would make Joohyun at least admit that she does like Seulgi enough to consider a better relationship with her other than simply a neighbor. Anything that would move their standing along because at the rate things are going, it's more likely that Sooyoung would've already gotten together with Wendy and going steady for months because Seulrene's doing a perfect imitation of a snail's pace. Even considering Seulgi as a friend is a good enough step towards the right direction. A very small step forward is better than doing nothing at all. Seulgi and Joohyun's romantic involvement isn't even a possibility in the future at this point because of the damning stubborness and denseness on Joohyun's part. There is also the matter of Seulgi's full identity to deal with. It's getting kind of ridiculous how Joohyun and Sooyoung still misses glaring evidences or clues about Seulgi's person. They know that she is rich and that she knows people in high places, and yet they've never thought nor had a guess that maybe there is something more to Seulgi than meets the eye. There were instances that had shown Seulgi doing something that wouldn't be out of character for a person of importance, people giving her much leeway and respect, Seulgi knowing things at far greater detail, etc. and yet they've never processed those events as clues of Seulgi's identity. Just how blind can Joohyun and Sooyoung be for not suspecting even a little bit? They even missed an opportunity to know more about Seulgi at the party. They could've subtly asked the other partygoers if they know Seulgi and her line of work, you know XD Ask around or pretend that they don't know Seulgi and ask them who she is because they have never seen her before. They wasted the chance hahaha
