Chapter 27: The End!
Since You've Been GoneDear Noona,
Sorry it took me so long to respond to your letter. You probably already know why.
Things have been pretty different since, well let’s just say since God called you back to Him.
I married a boy today! You know him pretty well actually, your second favourite neighbourhood kid, Mark Tuan. You know, it felt really surreal, walking towards him in the same church I had promised myself I would never enter again, almost 3 years later.
It felt like I was holding on to the door of my past but also holding on to the door of my future. At first, I didn’t know how I would ever choose between the two of them. How would I ever be able to choose between comfort and curiosity? They’re such diverse emotions.
I realised only when I was standing in front of Mark today however, that I didn’t have to choose. It turned out that the doors I was holding on to were one and the same.
Curiosity and comfort walk hand in hand.
I would never be able to find comfort in a new habit or hobby if I wasn’t curious enough to want to learn it in the first place.
So I realised one of the most important lessons of my life, funnily enough on the day of my wedding.
Then again, are we even surprised at this point? When has my life ever been conventional?
Anyway, so that was something I learnt today.
You know, I missed you a lot today. We had so many dreams for our weddings. We were supposed to be maid of honours for each other, you were supposed to threaten Mark to take good care of me or else you would kick his , there were so many things I wanted to do with you.
But I guess you were there in spirit, huh? At least, I hope so.
Oh, you know because of my lack of maid of honour, I ended up making Jackson the ‘man of honour’; you could say he was pretty honoured when I asked him. Lol, I crack myself up.
I also made the members of SHINee my ‘bridesmen’, they would have made good best men but it was pretty much decided from the start that GOT7 would take up that role. It didn’t matter though, the guys loved the idea. They were all for it, even Key, who seemed a bit embarrassed at first but ended up loosening up a bit when Jackson spiked his drink with some vodka.
Don’t look at me like that! Key was having the time of his life, and so were we, while recording him dance on the table.
It was hilarious, noona. You should have seen him dance.
Gotta admit though, you have pretty good taste in guys after all
