jeongmi dumpJeongyeon readjusts the strap of her worn leather bag on her shoulder. She winces at the pain, the old thing that was filled with her notes and Chaeyoung's art supplies was biting on her shoulder even through her thick flannel shirt. Atleast there's only three more blocks left, Jeongyeon thought, then she can finally discard the damned thing on her apartment floor.
She curses Chaeyoung for making her buy her art materials on the way home and spending her bus money on it. The younger girl only gave her enough for one sketchbook and two charcoal pencils - Jeongyeon could have pretended to not have read Chaeyoung's text to buy some acrylic but she doesn't have the energy to be on the receiving end of Chaeyoung's angry fit tonight.
Jeongyeon finally rounded on the corner of the street where her apartment is. Jeongyeon was spent, her shoes heavily dragged on the rough surface of the asphalt.
Until she sees a shiny black car parked under the lone, flickering street light in front of her apartment. A car which Jeongyeon knows all too well. A smile spreads on her face, feeling her exhaustion lift a little and excitedly skips her way to her apartment door.
"I'm home," Jeongyeon says as she brings her heavy bag down on the floor.
