“I’ll wait for you, as long as it takes,” she said, discarding any shred of pride she had left. She wasn’t used to crying -- she actually knew how to? -- but the tears would not cease. She hated that she sniffled, she hated that she sobbed. She hated the way it sounded, and she hated the way she probably looked. She hated feeling vulnerable in any way. But most of all she hated the way the boy looked at her: solemnly, pitying her. Pitying her.

No one pitied Jihyun. She would never allow it. But this time, she did. For Yang Seungho, she would allow almost anything.

“However long it takes for you to change your mind about us... I’ll wait,” she promised.
