ICYMI: Claiming is now OPEN!

Have you checked out our prompt archive yet? There are so many wonderful prompts just waiting to be claimed!

Subscribe to our fest here on AFF for future updates!

Below, you will find some guidelines. Please read through these carefully before you proceed to claim your prompt!

CLAIMING

  • Claiming will be done through Google Forms.
  • We are operating under Korean Standard Time (KST). All deadlines will follow this timezone.
  • Claims are conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • You are allowed to claim your own prompt if you wish.
  • If you cannot find a prompt you like, but would still like to join our fest as a writer (yay!), we also have self-prompting available.
  • You do not need to have an Ao3 account in order to claim a prompt—you can give us the link to your preferred writing platform instead (e.g. AFF, LJ, etc.). We only require an email address that you check regularly as a sure way for us to contact you.
  • We will send you a confirmation email within 48 hours of your claim. If you don't receive an email from us after that time has passed, send us a message.
  • The story written for the fest must be a standalone. You cannot write a sequel/prequel to any of your existing works.
  • If you would like to change your prompt, please contact us. Once your prompt has been dropped, you are free to go through the claiming procedure once again.
  • PLAGIARISM is not allowed. Your work will be taken down immediately if it is discovered to have been plagiarized.
  • Respect the prompter and their requests. If you have any questions regarding your prompt, contact us and we will help you relay your concern.
  • Give warnings for sensitive or triggering material where they are needed. This includes topics such as mental illness, violence, character death, noncon/dubcon, etc.—it is always better to be safe than sorry. ual positions (i.e. who tops and who bottoms) is not considered sensitive or triggering material. If you are unsure on whether something should be added as a warning, please contact us and we can help you decide.
  • If you finish early, let us know so we can send you the submission format. Once your final submission has been received, you are free to claim another prompt if you'd like!
  • HTML format is not required. We are choosing to forego the HTML requirement since we will only be posting on Ao3, and will be able to copy and paste your document directly into the rich text editor. That being said, please make sure that your final submission is formatted correctly and to your liking (all words that need to be bolded are bolded, spacing, etc.)—mods will double check that the format we have posted matches the one in the final submission document you send us.
  • Keep in mind that when you sign up to claim a prompt, you are signing up for a commitment. Please do not make us chase you for check-ins or submissions. We will email you once if you fail to check-in after the second check-in. Participants who miss both check-ins will be dropped regardless of how much they've already written.
  • There will be no claiming deadline. Claiming will remain open until the posting period begins.

CHECK-INS
Check-ins will be conducted through email. We will send you an email with check-in format prior to the check-in date.

1st Check-in: There is no minimum word count for the first check-in. You will just need to send us your progress via email.

2nd Check-in: The minimum words count for this check-in is 1000 words. We will ask that you send in your progress as either a .docx, .doc, or .txt attachment along with your email. If you need an extension, now would be the best time to ask.

Final Submission: The minimum word count requirement for the final submission is 2000 words, sent as a .docx, .doc, or .txt attachment. HTML format is not required.

EXTENSIONS & DROPOUTS

  • Extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis. Please email us if you think you will need some more time.
  • There is no dropout deadline. However, please let us know ASAP if you know that you are unable to fulfill your prompt.
  • Have fun and don't stress! If you ever need an extension, or if something happens along the way, let us know. We are here to help!!
