So it's Chinese New Year and the first thing I did was to choke on my own saliva while doing nothing but play mahjong on my tablet. The natural outcome was to cough and hack as if my life depended on it. 

Usually, you would be okay again after a minute, right?

Not me, though...

I coughed up my lunch which also found its way into my nose, making it impossible for me to breathe because both my mouth as well as my nose were blocked. So I was fighting for air for what felt like an eternity, but was most likely only a bit less than three minutes. My parents were making a fuss over me all the while, thinking that I had swallowed something like a baby swallowing a toy. And when they saw me spit out my lunch, they were even more confused. Even my sister came running from the other room asking what happened.

This was definitely not how I imagined the Chinese year to start like. Bad omen?

Nah... Probably, not.

Anyways... I wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year and no near death experiences like it happened to me xD
