Chapter 10: OOH!!! This is a wonderful surprise!!! First of all, I just have to say that your writing is absolutely beautiful. It's so evocative, and you get the characters and their voice so well!!

It's such a great opening with Hayeon. Immediately I can tell what kind of person she is, and then we slowly realize where she is and what she's doing - just a frazzled college student, followed by: she never thought she'd stay with Rendezvous for so long. It speaks volume of her character, and it's just two lines. Brilliant. And it sets the mood so well - the way the fans feel about the group now, how they felt before. The nostalgia that lingers and makes her not fall asleep.

omg I absolutely adore the documentary format! It's just so wholesome when the older girls are forced to watch the young, naive versions of themselves. And I really love the transition between it and the past, it's such a cool format!

"If it weren’t for her preppy, pop-coloured stage outfit, Kyungjoo could blend right in with the audience. She is drowning in the constant waves of starstruck wonder. " - immediately I know /exactly/ how Kyungjoo feels. How do you manage to do it with so few words? I ADORE Kyungjoo, she's so real and excited and I imagine so many feel like her in the beginning of their careers. "Kyungjoo! You were counting out louder than everyone else." WHAT A SWEET SUMMER CHILD I love her.

OOh what is this interaction between Gaeul and Garam, I'm intrigued. Everything these girls do scream of youth and innocence, and it's so endearing to see. It's such a great way to open the story, especially in contrast to their older selves. Also, as someone who got into kpop in 2015, I can't believe I read that Fake Love won first place and felt nostalgic. RIP.

"She steps forth into the fray, traversing toward the edge of an otherworldly haze. Emerging from the busy chatter, Yeryeong glimpses into the different world that her seniors have built for themselves." - woah, this sentence hits HARD. How do you manage to evoke so much feeling? As someone who always over writers (if you couldn't tell by this review XD) I am extremely jealous of your skill!! You're sooo good!! It's also really interesting to see here the difference between Yeryeong, who reminds herself to find the camera and to approach Jimin, and him who doesn't even miss a beat. It really is a different world they've crafted.

Okay, I love Szeyuen from her very first line. I love how you show the politics of the Korean workplace from a perspective of an outsider, who sees it from a much fresher lens, like us. "Keep the producer happy and the broadcasting opportunities will be kept on the table (and if you don’t have the money to buy some brownie points, well, too bad). It’s all the major and small labels’ playing field to compete in, fairness be damned." - it makes so much sense, and of course they have to compete in this unfair tournament too. And of course poor Szeyuen has to wear her skirt and makeup until it's all over. And oh I love how she goes into a tirade in her own head, then gets distracted by the beauty that is Jiu and then BAM, here comes the producer. I was so caught up with her thoughts, it surprised me too! And damn, it's so heartbreaking yet so realistic to see Yeryeong being used essentially as a commodity. Of course Prism would do it, even if they didn't want to they have no choice. I imagine it will put quite the pressure on Yeryeong, especially as it happens more and more. One time is flattering. Ten times is concerning.

And Semi!! Holy you got her perfectly, no actually you got her better! "The idol mask has long dissolved with the makeup remover and cleanser, but Semi just wants to see her one more time." - I absolutely LOVE this, it's so relatable on one hand, and so sad on the other. The idol a mask, but it's addicting being someone more than she thinks she is. Being more than a person. "And there she is!" because of course she wants to be in a group, but it's /her/ she's trying to find in the video. And then she rewinds it again and again (and it's such a great detail that it's a short part, a blink and you miss it, but Semi cares anyway), and it makes so much sense but my girl this is a road to an unhealthy relationship with yourself and your work. And I absolutely love it. Destroy herrr. God, this is so beautiful to read.

I adore this so much, and I can't wait for rendezvous' story to unfold (however long it takes! Take your time!! Uni and internships and jobs are soo hard, I feel you ;A;) <3 Thank you so much for this fantastic chapter!!

Chapter 10: Ohh this is such a nice way of starting the story! I love the juxtaposition of the documentary and then cutting back into the past! I can just picture the kdrama in my head ;;

I also really love the music show sequence where you can see them being giddy at being there but you can also see the backstage politics come into play. Greet your brother for that perfect fancam moment. Give the flowers to BTS to borrow a little of their spotlight. ALSO that part with Yeryeong where she's about to give them the bouquet, know exactly what smile is appropriate, and just gets seduced by the dream of being the one up there but not for the fame but the bond of it all? ART. That is EXACTLY the I made her for and you captured that so well ;A; I loved it so so so much!

And then the Szeyuen bit!! You did such a wonderful job on capturing the tone of each character, I loved how you slipped into Szequen's distant and a little pretentious voice. Of course she's thinking about the corporate politics of it all, and even the little details like noticing the exact shade of blue of Dreamcatcher's outfit! She might be very gay but she's not so distracted by Jiu that she won't still be an artist >:(

And then Semi! She's so relatable honestly, finding herself to bask in her debut but then getting distracted and not really paying attention xD I love the emphasis on her song! It's a nice little reminder of Produce without mentioning it overtly, she must have watched herself perform other group's songs on the show over and over again but here she finally is singing her own song and her own lines!

AHH I really loved this!! Don't worry about the lateness, I appreciate having it at all and I really enjoyed reading this! Can't wait to see what happens to next and you've conquered the hardest part: the first chapter <3

Chapter 10: SO worth the wait!!!! i love the distinctness between how in the future portion they're referred to only by their stage names vs mostly by their real names in the past/present portion, it's like one of those small but powerful things to show how much they've grown both as idols and as people. i'm so excited to see more of all our little babies!
