After school, Kris met up with Jungah at her locker. “I’ll give you a ride back home.”
“Don’t bother.” She slammed her locker shut and looked up at him, “I have supplement classes.”
“Supplement classes…?” He tilted his head.
“I was suspended, remember? They want me to fill my empty head. Although I probably won’t do much but listen to music. Pretty much useless, I think. Whatever.” She wavd her hand and left.
Kris watched her walk back up the stairs to class. *How long are supplement classes?*
----------
Two hours of boring lectures were starting to drive Jungah insane. She would’ve listened to her ipod the entire time, but she just happened to have Mr. Ahn, a strict man who would’ve been more suited as a military general instead of a high school teacher. His bark was just as dangerous as his bite. He had no problem punishing the students if they didn’t please him.
Mr. Ahn handed out a thick packet of assignments of different topics. “I need them all to be turned in before you leave. I will be in my office. Come and find me when you are done, or you will stay here all night! Understood?!”
“Yes.” The students grumbled.
*Are all Ahns ? Damn.* Jungah rolled her eyes and trudged to the library.
Everyone clustered in groups of twos and threes to finish the assignment faster.
However, Jungah went into an empty corner of the library to work alone. No sooner had she took out her pencil that the seat next to her became occupied. Jungah turned her head to snap at the intruder but ended up gawking at him instead.
Kris picked up her packet and looked through it.
Jungah glanced around then hissed, “What the hell are you doing here?! You don’t have any supplement classes!”
“Of course. I’m not dumb enough to need any.” Kris answered.
*What is he trying to say?!* Her eyes flashed in anger, and her teeth gnashed together defensively, “I’m not dumb!”
Everyone stared at her. Jungah slapped her left hand over her face.
“You better hurry up, or we’ll have to spend the night here.” Kris tossed the packet on the table.
“We?” She raised an eyebrow. He just gave her a knowing smile.
Jungah shook her head. She looked up and did a double take. Her body became rigid at the sight of Wonsuk. There was a bandage on his nose that she had never seen on him before. *Here we go. Another brawl.* He looked up and locked eyes with her. His eyes flickered over to Kris. Fear gripped his throat.
Jungah opened to speak to him, but surprisingly, Wonsuk spun on his heels and walked in the opposite direction. *He just walked away?! Without an insult?!* Jungah blinked in amazement. Slowly, she turned her head to Kris. He was looking too casually at a boring history book.
Her eyes narrowed in accusation, “What did you do to Park Wonsuk?”
Kris looked into her eyes, “What you thought I could never to do him.”
She stared at him in wonder. He opened the history book and pointed at the page, “This seems pretty useful.”
Jungah blinked at him as he put the history book down and looked through the math book. Kris paused and looked at her, “What are you doing? Are you going to just stare at me the entire day? Am I that good looking?” Her face immediately turned into a scowl. “You think way too highly of yourself.” She began to fill in the worksheets.
Two hours passed by like that. Jungah filled in the blanks while Kris gave her overhelpful hints. Jungah dropped her pencil and shook her aching left hand. It was taking a lot longer since she had to write with her left hand. *Just ten more pages left.* She turned her head.
Kris had fallen asleep with his arms resting on the table, and his face buried in his arms. Her expression softened. *Babo. Why would you come here anyways? It’s nothing but boredom. If I were you, I’d get away from school as fast as possible. But you came back…for me?* She took his blazer that was hanging over the chair and placed it over his shoulders. With a small, tender smile, she went back to work. They both didn't know that Kris's phone was overflowing with calls and messages.
An hour later, Jungah completed her work. *Done.* She stretched her sore, left fingers.
Jungah smiled at sleeping Kris, grabbed her worksheets, and left the library. She gave them to Mr. Ahn who took great time scrutinizing her work. “Your handwriting is very hard to decipher.”
Jungah pointed at her broken arm and shrugged, “Being left-handed temporarily will do that to you.”
Mr. Ahn cleared his throat and str
