Chapter 44
The Last Human (EDITING)
Alec’s gaze turned and his eyes met mine. His gaze was scarier than before. I flinched.
He cocked his head at me with a blank stare. I gasped as I felt something wrap around my body. Nothing was physically around me though. The forces around me felt as if they were tightening around me. My body was dragged towards him.
I screamed in fright and squirmed. Nothing seemed to work against it!
I heard the familiar voice in my head return,
*Don’t struggle against him! Stay calm and quiet.*
*Y-You’re back?* I asked.
*Neh... Now listen to what he has to say, and be smart.*
I came to an abrupt stop in front of him. He stared at me for a few seconds.
“You did not see anything.”
I was so scared that I couldn’t bring anything to say.
“Now what did you really see, human?”
It took me a few seconds to reply,
“N-Nothing... W-W-What did I see?”
“Good girl.”
He pushed me to the door without touching me. I clearly got the message and ran back to my room.
I asked the familiar voice,
*Where have you been?*
He didn’t answer for a few seconds.
*I... was busy for a while.*
*Eh, whatever...* I shrugged it off.
There was a comfortable silence for a little while. I decided to go and explore the castle some more. I found myself wandering around outside.
I suddenly came upon a large fountain. There was fancy handwriting on it.
Fish of the Futu
