Jimin knew this would happen. She knew that the moment she steps inside her home, she will be scolded.

After what she did, it was an inevitable scenario.

She glances at her eldest sister, Joohyun, who could only give her a small smile.

“You will be helping out at the store for the rest of the week. Do you understand?” Jisoo scolds her. She winces at the voice of her sister then sighs, “Yes, Unnie”.

She’s also not allowed to go out. Only from their home to the store, and vice versa.

Yep.

This was also the reason why Jimin decided to spend the whole day with her girlfriend yesterday because she knew this would happen.

Damn the consequences, indeed.

Good thing though, the rest of the week is only three days.

I can do this, she thought.

Just three days of not seeing her girlfriend? Yeah, Jimin thinks it’s easy.

-----------------

She spoke too soon.

It was barely a day but she misses the blonde-haired girl. She really thought she could handle not seeing her for a while. She even tried to distract herself by focusing more on her tasks and helping manage the store, but it was hard. Especially when she is reminded by the blonde-haired girl in everything she sees.

The snack section wasn't helping.

She sighs heavily as she arranges the snackbars. Get a grip, Jimin. Minjeong said she will video call you later. Just get through the day, she tried to convince herself.

Personally, Jimin didn't expect she would feel this way. She knows she's head over heels in love with Minjeong, but to miss her this much? Maybe everything that had happened in the past few days had been a factor. It made her desire to be always with the blonde-haired girl, to make up for the time wasted, she thinks.

Jimin knows she shouldn’t be thinking this way as she knows they'll be together for a long time, but she also knows how uncertain the future is. There's always that unknown factor that tends to get in the way. With her being scarred from her past experience, she doesn't want to go through that again.

She heard the doorbell ring. She was about to stand up and greet the visitor but her sister beat her to it. She was about to go back to arranging the snacks when

"What are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here!"

It wasn't loud but it was enough to catch Jimin’s attention.

"But Jisoo, I just want-" Wait, Jimin paused.

"Now is not the time."

That voice, Jimin abandons what she was doing and slowly went to where her sister was, only to see Jisoo kicking the unknown visitor out of the store.

"Unnie, what’s going on?" The raven-haired girl curiously asked as she tried to see a glimpse of the unknown visitor.

"Jimin?" The older Yoo was startled to see Jimin so near. She immediately tried to block the youngest Yoo's view, "you don’t have to worry. It's nothing important."

"But Unnie-"

"Jimin, please." She couldn’t help but look at her big sister. There was something in her voice that she couldn't decipher. She also remembered that she is still at her sister's mercy. If she fcks up, her punishment might be extended.

"Okay, okay," Jimin retreats. She went back to the snack section to continue what she was doing, while also trying to erase that unsettling feeling.

That voice, Jimin knows she had heard it before, but she couldn’t pinpoint whose. However, that person appeared in her mind. No, that would be impossible, she thought. She knows her family has no more connection to him.

Jimin shook her head. Must be someone Unnie knows, she settles with that conclusion.

It was the better one, after all.

-------------------

"You looked drained, babe." Jimin could only roll her eyes as she heard the other girl chuckle.

"It was exhausting."

"Jisoo Unnie gave you a hard time?"

"Tell me about it," she groans as she remembers all of the tasks her older sister had commanded her to do.

Jimin was now in her bed, laying down as she was on a video call with her girlfriend. She thought she would be satisfied seeing Minjeong on screen, but it made her miss her girl more.

"What can I do to help, babe?" She sees the blonde-haired girl smile sweetly at her, “I want to see you.”

Minjeong looks amused, “you can see me right now,”

“No, not this way.” Jimin whines which made the other girl chuckle. “As much as I want to visit you and spend more time with you personally, I don’t think your Unnie will like that idea.” Jimin groans on her pillow as she knows Minjeong was right. “Let me play you a song, instead.”

Jimin heard a lot of noise on the other line which prompted her to call out for her girl, “Minjeong, is everything all right there?!?”

The next thing she saw was an…electronic keyboard?

“Minjeong, what are you…?”

Minjeong settles on her bed as she finishes putting the electronic keyboard beside her, “I told you I will play you a song, so…ta da!”

Jimin was lost for words. Usually, Minjeong would use her guitar to serenade her, she didn’t expect the blonde-haired girl to use her keyboard.

“I just figured I haven’t played a lot of songs for you using this, for a change, I want to do this for you.”

The raven-haired girl couldn’t help but smile. She lovingly looks at Minjeong who was adjusting the settings of her keyboard, “babe?”

“Hhmm?” Minjeong glances at her,

“I’m so lucky to have you,” she sees Minjeong grin, “I know.”

Both of them chuckle as Minjeong starts to play around the keys, creating a soothing melody.

“Do you have any requests?” The blonde-haired girl asks.

It made Jimin think for a bit. Most of the time Minjeong plays a song she composes for her, but on a guitar, “nothing in mind right now. Surprise me.” She sees Minjeong smile before proceeding to play a familiar tune.

It was one of the piano pieces Jimin used to play before.

“Spring Song,” she says, which brought a smile to the blonde-haired girl’s face, “I don’t know if you remember much, but this was…”

“The first piano piece I taught you.” Minjeong grins as she continues to play. The melody bounces off the room beautifully as the blonde-haired girl skillfully played the piece like it was her own song.

Jimin couldn’t help but smile. Memories from when they were young flooded her mind, and how she teaches the younger Minjeong how to play. Remembers how the blonde-haired girl struggled so much, only to see her play like it's the easiest thing to do.

As Minjeong played that last note, Jimin saw her glancing, “How did I do?”

She grins in reply, “perfect.”

Minjeong shakes her head, “you’re too biased.”

Jimin retorts, “I’m not.”

“You are, babe,” Minjeong still smiles in return, “and thank you. That means so much to me coming from you.”

Minjeong continues to play random melodic tunes as she asks the raven-haired girl if she has a request. It took a while for Jimin to think of a song when she remembered the song her lover made for her that she never heard her play.

Like ever.

“Minjeong,”

“Hhhmm?”

“How about My Everything. I haven’t heard you play that to me yet.” Jimin sees Minjeong paused. She couldn’t decipher her girlfriend's expression. It made her feel like she said something wrong.

“Ah,” she hears the blonde-haired girl clear . Huh?

“Babe?”

“I don’t remember much of it,” Minjeong immediately replies. She gave Jimin a small smile, “maybe next time.”

Something was off, but Jimin couldn’t pinpoint what.

It was the first song Minjeong made for her, so why? She didn’t expect to see Minjeong that uncomfortable to play a song.

Jimin snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Minjeong play a beautiful tune. It was a song she’s not familiar with.

“New song?” Minjeong shook her head, “I heard this song on the radio,” and glanced at her, “I immediately thought of you.”

Kiss the tears right off your face

Won't get scared, that's the old, old, old me

I'll be there, time and place

Lay it on me, all you're hold, hold, holding

Time, time only heals if we work through it now

And I promise we'll figure this out

Jimin couldn’t help but smile.

She understood immediately why the blonde-haired girl thought of her when this song played on the radio.

After everything that had happened these past few days, this song resonates with her.

I will take your pain

And put it on my heart

I won't hesitate

Just tell me where to start

I thank the oceans for giving me you

You saved me once and now I'll save you too

I won't hesitate for you

For a song that is not written by her, Minjeong delivers every word with conviction. With emotion.

And it was dedicated to her.

Like a promise, from Minjeong to her.

Pull me close and I'll hold you tight

Don't be scared 'cause I'm on your side

Know there's nothing I wouldn't do for you

Pull me close and I'll hold you tight

Don't be scared 'cause I'm on your side

Know there's nothing I wouldn't do for you

Jimin felt it, as she always does, whenever Minjeong sings a song for her. Every inch of Minjeong’s love for her.

She feels it.

So much.

It was overwhelming.

But at the same time, it put her heart at ease.

It’s a good feeling.

I will take your pain

And put it on my heart

I won't hesitate

Just tell me where to start

I thank the oceans for giving me you

You saved me once and I'll save you too

I won't hesitate for you

As the last note echoed around the room, Jimin looked at Minjeong lovingly.

“I want to kiss you right now.” Minjeong grins at her and sends her a flying kiss.

She hated the fact that she’s far away from her girlfriend. If she was right there beside her, she would have kissed the girl feverishly, just to express her feelings for her. Because of their distance, she could only settle with words. She hopes it’s enough.

“I love you,” she whispers.

She sees Minjeong smile, “I love you too.”

Before the two could talk more, Joohyun knocked on Jimin’s door, indicating that the shower is available for her to use.

“Go. You also need to sleep early to regain your energy back for tomorrow.”

Jimin wants to argue but she knows Minjeong is right, “okay, you should sleep soon, too.”

Minjeong smiles at her softly, “I will. Good night. Dream of me, babe.”

Jimin could only chuckle, “Every night, baby. You have no idea.”

-------------------

Everything was going so well with Jimin.

She woke up in a great mood, she also got a chance to talk a bit with Minjeong before coming to work. Her sister wasn’t as strict with her as she was yesterday, and the majority of her work is at the counter.

All her good mood went to drain the moment she saw those IG stories.

As Minjeong doesn’t use her IG alot, her friends posted alot of pics and stories on her behalf, and Jimin is not liking it at all.

Jimin is not a jealous person, she never was.

Until now.

Youngjae.

Minjeong told her about him, how he used to be that chubby batchmate of theirs who happened to be a close friend of the blonde-haired girl’s during their highschool years. She doesn’t remember interacting with him, but she does remember him tagging along with Minjeong and her friends.

She also knows that the guy likes her girlfriend.

He wasn’t discrete about it.

It can be seen in the pictures and stories. He shamelessly stares at Minjeong.

And it’s making Jimin jealous.

Really jealous.

Her predicament didn’t help as it made her more annoyed as she can’t be with her girl because she’s still grounded.

When Minjeong told her earlier today that she will be hanging out with her friends, Jimin didn’t know that it included the guy.

She knows she shouldn’t entertain this green emotion, as she knows that Minjeong is hers and hers only. But she couldn’t help but feel protective over her lover when she knows her girlfriend is quite an attractor, especially to the opposite .

She sighs heavily.

Her sulking will only get her nowhere, so she tried to focus on her work.

-------------------

It was the last hour of her shift, but Jimin’s mood is still sour as ever. Even her sister noticed this and asked her if she’s okay.

“I’m okay, Unnie.” It’s not like she can tell her sister that she’s sour because she’s jealous over IG stories and pictures.

It feels petty.

Her jealousy.

She’s annoyed that she feels this way, but she couldn’t help it.

Due to her overthinking, she didn’t notice some people entered their store.

She continues to think a lot of possible scenarios her Minjeong was enjoying her time with her friends, and maybe Youngjae made some moves on her-

*poke*

Jimin got confused when she felt a poke on her cheek and looked at the culprit only to be surprised, “Ah!”

She accidentally squealed too loudly, which attracted a lot of customers to look her way. Even the culprit had to cover her ears as she was also surprised.

Jimin slaps the arm of the other girl, “Aishh, Minjeong!” she annoyingly whispered at her girlfriend who has now recovered her hearing and was chuckling. “I’m sorry, sorry. I didn’t know you would react tha

There's been a lot of hindrances since the moment they met. They do have little happy moments buy it only lasts for a while and it doesn't justify the amount of pain that they have to go through in exchange for it. Kinda makes you think that maybe they are not really meant for each other?

Winrina learning about Ryujin's intervention in past could have been the perfect of the story. Ryujin's acceptance and Winrina finally being together with no strings attached could have been the perfect ending, but it seems like they're facing yet another dilemma and I don't think I can take it anymore 😅

It's been fun reading it but this is it for me. Had enough of winrina angst 😅 God they're everywhere. Wish you all the best author! Hope your hand heal soon.
