Joohyun had, spent into the wee hours of midnight, demanding that Magistrate Lau find her a way into the residence. Surprisingly, he came up with an acceptable idea, salvaging a few hours of sleep.
Joohyun, now the magistrate’s third nephew twice removed from his sister’s side, is visiting the city hoping to learn the trade of wine. Wanting his nephew to learn from the best of the best, Xianhua personally showed up at the Song’s residence to request an apprenticeship with the young master.
As close drinking buddies, the old master of the Song family accepted his friend’s request in a heartbeat.
“What a good–looking nephew you got!” The old man praised. “Are you sure he’s yours?”
The magistrate choked while taking a sip of the green tea.
“Aiya, uncle I’ll let you in on a family secret. Out of all my uncles, he’s the best–looking one!” Joohyun bit back her laugh and aggressively patted Xianhua’s shoulders.
Joongki let out a hearty laugh. “Do you have a wife yet kiddo?”
Joohyun paused. “Not yet.”
“Oh?”
“But I’m engaged.” She felt her ears burning up.
“A pity!”
“Why’s that?” Magistrate Lau was interested.
“My daughter is getting older by the day but she has yet to be wedded!.” The old Song Master boasted.
“Oh really?” The magistrate scanned the room. “Wh–urg!”
“Oh! Was that your foot uncle? I mistook it for a roach. My deepest apologies.” Joohyun glared at him.
She and Jisoo were shown to their rooms during the stay as the two elder men chatted a bit more before Xianhua bid farewell and returned to the office.
“How do you think the others are doing?” Jisoo helped Joohyun unpack their things as they settled in.
Joohyun had the other three infiltrate the manor beforehand in case she needed an emergency escape.
As the weeks progressed, Joohyun played along with the arrogant young master façade, eventually warming up to Song Mino.
With the end of the fourth month drawing close, Joohyun had successfully assimilated into the young master Song’s gang. Her management: Okeydokey Brothel.
She was entrusted with the brothel as the assistant manager. To her horror, she had tread upon a discovery so horrendous it had taken every bit of her discipline to not commit the crime of murdering the young master of the Song family.
