"Yamada, you have to be quicker! You're lagging behind!"
"Arioka, that's the third time you messed up that move. What is going on with you?"
"Sorry." The two apologized, their faces lined with sweat.
"Lets take a five minute break and we'll start again." Their choreographer announced as the group dissembled for water.
"Dude, are you okay?" Kei asked as soon as Daiki went to fetch his water bottle. "You and Ryosuke seem so out of it."
"Yeah." Daiki answered, taking a sip. The group had already put in 2 hours of overtime because of their mistakes. Daiki and Ryosuke struggled to memorize the dances and their instructor had no plans for them to leave until they've mastered it.
As Daiki sighed in frustration, he heard a big thump and immediately turned around to find his best friend collapsed onto the floor.
"Ryosuke, Hey!" His instructor called, running over to the latter. The younger boy was unconscious and everyone huddled around in concern.
"Everyone, back up! He needs air!" Their instructor directed.
When Ryosuke struggled to regain consciousness, the instructor immediately took his phone out and dialed the emergency extension. "We need to take him to the hospital. He might've hit his head when he fell."
-- Meanwhile --
Rio had almost completed her first shift of the day. Everything was going smoothly and she couldn't stop smiling. She was finally living out her dream.
"Rio-chan, today is truly your lucky day!" Her coworker playfully nudged her.
"Eh? What do you mean?"
"You had just been assigned to a patient who is suffering from malnutrition and fatigue." Her worker giggled. "He's actually a pretty famous celebrity."
"Who?" Rio asked, opening the patient's folder. Her eyes widened at the sight of his name and she instantly, she ran towards the designated room.
Her gaze fell onto the unconscious man. Beside him, sat his fiance who held onto his hand tightly. As soon as Satoko noticed Rio's presence, she immediately stood up and bowed to her. Rio did the same.
"I'm Dr. Yamada." Rio introduced herself as she attempted to tone her emotions. "I'll be in charge of Yamada Ryosuke during his time here."
"His time here? Does that mean he will be here long?" Satoko asked in a concerned voice.
"Well, according to the scans, nothing seems out of the ordinary. He just appears to be under an enormous amount of stress and is malnutritoned." Rio answered, closing her file. "He'll be here for an extra day just so we can monitor his health."
"But I read on the website that these are signs of heart disease."
"I can assure you, that he doesn't have heart disease."
"But I read it online, how can you be so sure?"
"Miss, I've studied for 8 years to become a doctor. I'm well aware of what I'm doing." Rio answered, trying to hold back her glare. "You, on the other hand, look exhausted. Go home and some sleep. Visiting hours resume tomorrow at 9am."
Satoko was just about to protest but decided to swallow her words after meeting Rio's strict expression. "Please take care of him, doctor." She said and Rio nodded.
"I will."
As soon as Satoko left, Rio placed his file on the desk and sighed. However, she heard a chuckle and immediately glanced at the man she thought was unconscious.
"That was amusing." Ryosuke grinned as Rio widened her eyes.
"You idiot!" Rio exclaimed, gently wacking him. "You were awake the entire time?!"
"Since when do doctors abuse their patients?" He playfully joked, rubbing his arm.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"I didn't feel like it." Ryosuke answered as Rio rolled her eyes. "So you're actually a doctor now, huh..." He commented, noticing her white coat. "It suits you."
"Thanks." Rio replied, her hands swaying in the deep pockets of her coat.
Ryosuke's eyes laid on her outfit. He was truly proud of her for accomplishing what she had a
