Mina groaned and moved her hand above her head as she stretched and bumped her arm into something

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Mina said as she looked at Chaeyoung who was rubbing her forehead.

“Well, good morning to you too. Thanks for waking me up with your arm.” Chaeyoung jokingly as Mina was worried

“Yah~ is your forehead okay?” Mina asked as she sat up and looked at Chaeyoung's forehead

“It's okay. I know you didn't mean it.” Chaeyoung said as she sat up

“Let me grab you some stuff for you to wash up.” Mina said as she walks to the bathroom and looked through the drawers

 

Chaeyoung smiled and looked at her phone in the meanwhile. Chaeyoung saw a message from Jeongyeon

“Chaeyoung.. Why didn't you go to the bathroom when I called you?” Mina asked as she wiped with her towel.

“Ah.. Sorry.. I was texting Jeongyeon.”

“Oh.. about the competition?” Mina asked as Chaeyoung nods

“Yea. She said she’ll meet us there.” Chaeyoung said as she stood up from the bed

“Well, go wash up.. And we’ll go downstairs to eat.” Mina said as Chaeyoung walked in the bathroom

“You can go ahead, I’ll meet you there.” Chaeyoung said

“Are you sure?” Mina asked

“Yuuur.” Chaeyoung said while brushing her teeth

“Okay. I’ll see you down there.” Mina said as she put away her towel and walked out of her room.

Mina walked downstairs as she walked into the kitchen and then sat on the dining table.

 

“Mina.. honey? Where’s Chaeyoung?” Mrs. Myoui asked as Mr. Myoui looked up from reading his newspaper looking confused

“Chaeyoung? Who is this person that you are talking about?

“Dad--”

“Is this Chaeyoung a boy? Why did you bring a boy home?” He asked as Mina shook her head

“Dad.. Chaeyoung is not a boy. She’s a girl.” Mina rolled her eyes

“Oh.. then why didn't you say so. Then where is she?”

“She’s washing up right now.” Mina said as Mrs. Myoui put a breakfast plate in front of Mina

“Why didn't you wait for her?” Mrs. Myoui asked

“She told me to go first.” Mina said

“You should’ve waited for her.” Mrs. Myoui said

“Heh.. if she did, she would’ve tackled her like she did last night.” Kai mumbled as no one heard what he said except Mina

“What did you say Kai?” Mr. Myoui asked as Mrs. Myoui set a breakfast plate in front of him

“Yah! Kai-oniichan!” Mina said as her brother chuckled

“It's nothing dad.” He said as he finished up his breakfast.

“I’ll be going to my room now. Call me if you need me." Kai said as he walked out of the dining room and the walked up the stairs

“Morning.” A voice said as the person came into the kitchen

“Good morning Chaeyoung. Did you sleep well?” Mrs. Myoui asked as Chaeyoung nods

“Yes. Thank you for letting me stay over for the night Mrs. Myoui.” Chaeyoung said as she bowed

“No problem sweetie. Have a seat and I’ll get your breakfast ready.” Mrs. Myoui said as Chaeyoung nodded and walked towards the dining table.

 

Mina waved Chaeyoung to sit next to her as Chaeyoung gave a small smile and sat down. 

 

“Morning.” Mina softly said

“Morning.” Chaeyoung replied back

 

Mr. Myoui watches them with his eyebrow raised

 

“*Ahem* so, Chaeyoung.”

“Yes?” Chaeyoung gave full attention to Mina’s dad as he wiped his mouth with a napkin and already finished with his breakfast.

“What classes are you taking this semester?” Mr. Myoui asked

“Just general classes for now.” Chaeyoung said 

“Oh?”

“Yea. Just to get some of the general classes done so I don't have to deal with it later.”

“Aren’t you doing the same Mina, but without the art class?”

“Yes, dad. I'm doing my generals first as well, because they are required before I choose what area of study course I want to take in college.

“I see. Well, I hope you can finish them and figure out what you want to study in.” Mr. Myoui said as Mina nods

“Sorry for the wait. Here’s your food, Chaeyoung.” 

“No worries and thank you.” Chaeyoung said as Mrs. Myoui smiled.

“Honey. Hurry up and sit down to eat.” Mr. Myoui said as she nods

“I will honey.” 

“Any clubs that you have joined yet, Chaeyoung?” Mr. Myoui asked as Chaeyoung nods

“I’m in the Taekwondo club and basketball girls club, but recently they made me a ‘graduate’ in basketball so I'm just playing the sport for fun now. And recently I'm going to practice today for the taekwondo competition that is gonna happen in about a month.” Chaeyoung said as he was impressed

“I see. What time do you have to be there? Right now it's 10:10 am. We don't want you to be late.” He asked looking at the time on his watch

“Right.. Practice starts in 3 hours. I still have time to go home and grab my stuff for practice.” Chaeyoung said

“Well, hurry and finish your breakfast before it gets cold.” Mrs. Myoui said as Chaeyoung nodded and started eating.

“I’m gonna go get ready. I’ll get your clothes ready too, Chaeyoung.” Mina said as she stood up and put away her plate and walked upstairs.

“So quick question, Chaeyoung.” Mr. Myoui said as Chaeyoung looked at him

“Does Mina have a boyfriend?” He whisper as Chaeyoung choked on her food, making her cough 

 

Both Mr. and Mrs. Myoui were shocked by the reaction Chaeyoung gave them. Mrs. Myoui passed over a cup of water as Chaeyoung drank it. Chaeyoung cleared out and said

 

“W-why are you asking?”

“Well, I thought since you two are friends, you would know a bit of her relationship status.” Mr. Myoui said as Chaeyoung took a sip of the cup of water

“W-we’re n-not that close. We met each other because of class. I'm not that close to knowing about her relationship status.. that would be her friend, Nayeon’s job to know.”

 

Of course, they would ask and I would have to lie about it…

 

“Oh.. okay. I was just asking.. sorry for making you uncomfortable.” Mr. Myoui said as Chaeyoung soft chuckled

“It's alright.” Chaeyoung said as she finished her food

“Thank you for breakfast. I’ll take my leave now.” Chaeyoung said as she picked up her plate, put it in the sink and walked out of the kitchen.

 

Chaeyoung walked upstairs as she walked into Mina’s room. As she opened the door, she saw her clothes on Mina’s bed. She walked near the bed as she heard the door open. Chaeyoung looked up as she saw Mina wearing an oversize mint green dye hoodie with her hair in a ponytail with jean shorts and white shoes.

 

 

Their eyes met as Mina blushed and broke contact.

 

“I-Is this too much?” Mina stuttered as Chaeyoung was speechless, but came back to reality

“Um… it.. looks good.” Chaeyoung said as she bit her lips while staring at Mina’s legs

 

Mina fidget her legs as she feels exposed in front of Chaeyoung. 

 

“On second thought… Let’s change your shorts into pants.” Chaeyoung said, looking away as Mina bite her lips and pouted

“Is my outfit not good enough?” Mina asked shyly as Chaeyoung looks at her and shook head

“N-N-No! It's… it's just because.. I-… don't want anyone else seeing your legs.” Chaeyoung said as Mina blush.

“P-p-plus… I don't like sharing whats m-mine.” Chaeyoung stuttered while looking away as Mina covered her blush face with her hand. 

“I-i get it. I'll change.” Mina said as she walked past Chaeyoung to go to her closet to get a pair of pants and walked back into the bathroom.

 

Chaeyoung stood there, watching her shy girlfriend go into the bathroom. 

 

What did I just say to her? Chaeyoung said as shes gaslighting herself

 

She shook it off as she couldn’t think anymore. Chaeyoung walked out of Mina’s room and went to the nearest bathroom. After changing, Chaeyoung was about to open Mina’s door, but it opened as Chaeyoung looked up and saw Mina looking at her. 

 

“Ready to go?” Chaeyoung asked as Mina nods

 

They walked down the stairs as Mrs. Myoui saw them.

 

“Leaving already?” She asked as Chaeyoung nods

“I can't be late for practice.” Chaeyoung said as Mrs. Myoui looked at the clock

“But you still have time. Why go so early?” She asked

“Mom.” Mina whined as Mrs. Myoui looked at her with a ‘what do I do?’ look while Chaeyoung chuckled

“It would be better for me to be there early than late.” Chaeyoung said as Mrs. Myoui nods

“Well, if you put it that way, then I won't stop you.” She said as Chaeyoung bows

“I’ll take my leave then.” Chaeyoung said as she put on her shoes.

“Me too, mom. I’ll be going to her practice.” Mina said

“Mmm. Have fun.” Mrs. Myoui said as they left.

 

Mrs. Myoui sighs and walks in the kitchen as Mr. Myoui looks at his wife.

 

“What’s the matter?” He asked

“I-it seems that Mina is sticking by Chaeyoung’s side all the time.” Mrs. Myoui replied

“What do you mean?” 

“Well, last night, Chaeyoung was carrying Mina on her back when she walked Mina home. Mina told me that they will sleep together instead of Chaeyoung sleeping in the guest room and now they leave together to go to Chaeyoung’s practice.” Mrs. Myoui replied again

“You know how young kids these days are. They cling together like their life depends on it. They always need that kind of friend that is always there for them. And I think Chaeyoung is that one friend that will be there for Mina.” He said as Mrs. Myoui pouted

“I wish I had that kind of friend when I was young.” She said

“What do you mean? I was that kind of friend to you.” 

“Yea. But you asked me out. They aren't married to each other.” she said as Mr. Myoui was confused

“What's the difference? They sound the same to me.” He said as Mrs. Myoui shook her head.

“What?” He asked

“Don't you have work to attend to?” She asked as he pouted

“Fine.” He muttered as he stood up, grabbed his suitcase and walked to the front door to put on his shoes.

Chaeyoung and Mina waited at the bus stop as there were also a lot of people there. 

 

“Looks like the bus will be full of people.” Chaeyoung said as Mina nods while looking around

“We’ll head to my place and then go to school for practice. It shouldn't take me long to get my equipment.” Chaeyoung as Mina nods.

 

My first time going to Chaeyoung’s place...

 

The bus drove up onto the bus stop as people were struggling to get on it. Chaeyoung holds Mina’s hand as they climb aboard. The bus suddenly closed the door as Chaeyoung noticed it and pulled Mina towards her, making Mina blush as her hands were on Chaeyoung’s shoulders. Chaeyoung noticed it and blushed as well. Chaeyoung turned and paid for their bus fee as they stood by the door.

 

Well, I didn't expect this bus to be this busy…  Chaeyoung thought in her head as she looked at the ceiling avoiding eye contact from Mina while Mina looked down, shy to look up at Chaeyoung’s eyes.

 

Chaeyoung noticed the area from outside as she pressed the button to make the bus stop. The bus stopped at the nearest stop as Chaeyoung grabbed Mina’s hand and got off the bus.  As they got off the bus, the bus drove off. They walked while holding hands at Chaeyoung's place.

They walked up to Chaeyoung’s apartment door. Chaeyiung took a look at Mina who was waiting for the door to open. Chaeyoung gave a small smile and put in the pin to open the door. As the door opened, chaeyoung guided Mina in first as she bowed saying “sorry for intruding” silently while Chaeyoung followed behind. Mina stood there as Chaeyoung took off her shoes and saw her action. 

 

“It's okay. You can come on in.” Chaeyoung said as Mina nodded, taking off her shoes.

 

Chaeyoung walked ahead leaving her bag by the entrance as she walked to the kitchen.

 

“Would water be okay for you?” Chaeyoung said making sure Mina heard her

“Eh? Ah.. sure.” Mina said as she walked in, seeing a picture of Chaeyoung when she was young with her parents, smiling. 

 

Mina gave a small smile as she looked around the entryway of her apartment as there were no pictures, but one. Mina walked towards where Chaeyoung was as Chaeyoung came out with a tray of two cups of water. She was surprised that Mina was still by the entryway.

 

“W-what were you standing over there?” Chaeyoung asked as Mina looked at her silently

“W-wae?” Chaeyoung asked again as Chaeyoung looked at the entryway, but there was nothing there. So she looked back at Mina

“Come to the living room and sit down. You didn't need to wait there.” Chaeyoung said as she walked to the living room as Mina followed her

 

They sat down as Chaeyoung set down the tray on the table and gave Mina a cup of water.

 

“I’ll be right back, let me grab my equipment and then we can go.” Chaeyoung said as Mina nods

 

Chaeyoung walks to her room as she grabs her backpack and puts her uniform in it. She zipped up her backpack, set it by the door and walked to her closet to change her clothes. 

 

 

Chaeyoung looked at herself on the mirror as she fixes her hoodie hood and smiled

 

Looks good.

 

She grabs her backpack and out of her room, meeting Mina’s eyes from the living room. Chaeyoung smiled and sat next to her

 

“Are you done already?” Mina asked as Chaeyoung nods

“It's just my uniform that I need.” Chaeyoung replied

“You don't need to change after?” 

“I can just go back to these clothes after.” Chaeyoung said, showing her clothes that she's wearing now.

“Shall we go now?” Chaeyoung asked as Mina looked at her

“Ne.” Mina softly said as Mina set down the cup on the tray

 

They both sat up and Chaeyoung took the tray and brought it to the kitchen and set the cup in the sink while Mina went to the entryway with Chaeyoung’s backpack to put on her shoes and waited for Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung walked out of the kitchen and into the entryway to put on her shoes. They walked out of Chaeyoung’s apartment and went to school.

They walked into the school grounds as it was a bit empty, but still had some students walking or hanging out. They walked in silence as they both took a glance at each other, but suddenly looked away.

Chaeyoung’s upper body bend down as a person arm locked her

 

“It's Son Chaeyoung!” 

“Jeongyeon! Let go!” Chaeyoung struggling to get out as Jeongyeon laughs

“Hahaha! Shorty Chaeng!” She said as Chaeyoung finally gets out

“Tsk.” Chaeyoung fix her hair as Mina took a look and reached out her hand to fix Chaeyoung’s hair, making Chaeyoung stop touching her hair and let Mina do it

“Ooooooo! Couple alert. Couple alert!” Jeongyeon said as Chaeyoung shook her head

“Oh-- Isn't that Gaeun-unnie?” Chaeyoung and Mina looked to where Jeongyeon was looking at 

“Don't tell me that’s…”

“I’m sorry.” Gaeun said bowing to the boy in front of her.

“As I thought!” Jeongyeon said

“Hey… We have to go to practice soon.” Chaeyoung said

“We got time.. Don't worry about it.” Jeongyeon said, still looking where Gaeun was.

“She looks cute though. Ah! Chaeyoung!” Jeongyeon said as she saw Chaeyoung and Mina walking away.

“It's okay. It’ll be okay, so…” 

“What will be okay?!” Gaeun said to the guy who grab her wrist

“It’ll be okay if we try dating for a week.” He said

“What? What are you saying? Let go!!” Gaeun said as a hand appeared and grabbed the guy’s wrist

“Are you okay?” Jeongyeon asked as Gaeun looked at her and saw Chaeyoung and Mina behind Jeongyeon

“Who are you?” The guy asked letting go Gaeun’s wrist

“Hey, second year or third year.” Jeongyeon said as he looked at her

“Persistent guys like you are annoying.” She added as he was shocked.

“You, what grade are you from? Or the club you are in?”

“Ah.. No. It’ll be bad if I cause problems before the competition.” Jeongyeon said

“Competition…” He muttered

“It hurts~ Whats gonna happen to my hand!?” the boy added as Jeongyeon was confused if she used too much strength or not.

“I-I don't think I used that much strength.. D-d-did I?” Jeongyeon asked as she turned to Chaeyoung as she stood there

“I’ll keep quiet about this if Gaeun-sunbae goes out with me.” He said

“Hul? What are you saying?!” She shouted as it shocked the guy

“G-Gaeun sunbae…”

“Leave me alone.. I don't want to deal with guys like you.” She said as he became sad and left scene sadly

"Let's go." Chaeyoung said as she and Mina walked ahead, leaving Jeongyeon behind.

“Th--”

“Hey.. wait..” Jeongyeon said as they all left, leaving Gaeun there.

“Thank you.” Gaeun softly said as she saw Chaeyoung and Mina walking together as she wondered what Jeongyeon meant by competition.

“Ahhh, my former champion is here!” The coach said as he put his arm around Chaeyoung’s shoulder.

“Hello, coach Choi. I’m just here to help you look over your team.”

“Wae? I thought you were gonna participate?” He asked sadly, looking down at her

“Cause I know you coach, you are very picky when it comes to picking who will be in the competition.” Chaeyoung said as he chuckles

“Me? Picky?” He scoffed and moves away from Chaeyoung

“Of course not, I aint picky at all. I just---” He stopped as Chaeyoung looks at him

“Okay.. Fine.. I am. But you know I'm very competitive when it comes to the competition.” He said as Chaeyoung nods

“I know.” She said

“What about me, Coach Choi?” Jeongyeon asked as he looked at her

“Why did you call me to come back, but you told Chaeng to come back?” She asked again

“Ahh.. Well..”

“You forgot I was on Chaeng’s team? Huuuul Coach! You’re mean!” Jeongyeon said

“It's been 2 years.. How did you expect me to remember?” 

“You arranged the team! What do you mean you don't remember?” Jeongyeon said as she pouts

“Sorry Yoo.” He said as he saw an unfamiliar figure beside Chaeyoung

“And this is?” He asked as he pointed at Mina

 

Chaeyoung turned her head to Mina and then to Coach Choi

 

“This is my--our friend, Mina.” Chaeyoung said as he nods

“Ahh.. I see. Nice to meet you. I'm Coach Siwon Choi.” Coach Choi said as he reach out his hand, but Mina hid behind Chaeyoung and gave a small bow to hi as he was confused and looked at Chaeyoung and Jeongyeon

“She’s shy around guys.” Jeongyeon said as he had a ‘ooh face’ 

“It's the Flower Beauty!” A guy said as some of the guys went up to her

“What are you doing here?”

“Are you gonna watch us practice?”

“I can't believe the flower beauty is here to watch me practice.” 

“No, it's not JUST you, it's all of us.” 

“Tsk, I can't have her all to myself..” One of the guys muttered as Chaeyoung heard it

 

You can't have her all to yourself, she’s taken.. By ME 

 

“Ah… stop talking guys, Chaeyoung is looking.”

“Like what is she gonna do? Train us to death?” one of the guys said as he turned and look at him

“Basically.” Chaeyoung said as she was behind him

“WAaaa.. What the heck? You scared me.” He said

“Back to training. Just because the flower beauty is here, doesn't mean you can slack off.”

“But-”

“Train.” Chaeyoung said sternly as they became sad

“Ne.”

 

Chaeyoung walked back to where Mina was as she stood next to her. Mina watched Chaeyoung’s actions as she hissed quietly to herself while Mina giggled softly. Chaeyoun heard it as she looked at her and gave a small smile as Mina looked up and met eyes with Chaeyoung. They stared at each other until

 

“So Chaeyoung, you gonna participate?” He asked as he turned his head 

“Mm? Uh.. no.” She replied as he became sad

“Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!” He said as he went on his knees, begging shocking everyone

“C-Coach Choi! What are you doing? Get up!” Chaeyoung said as he shook his head

“Not until you agree to be in the competition.” He said as Chaeyoung shook her head

“This will be the last time.” Chaeyoung said as he stood up happy

“Yay!” He said as Chaeyoung shook her head while Jeongyeon just smiled.

“Hurry and go get changed, you gonna train the others and yourself. You look a bit rusty.” He said as Chaeyoung looked at him

“Rusty?” Chaeyoung asked as he nods

“I wouldn-“

“Throughout all the years I have been in this club, I still know how to practice.. I ain't ONE BIT rusty! I still train at the gym.” Chaeyoung said as she crossed her arms in front of her.

“Oh? You’re here Chaeyoung?” A voice said as they all looked at the person

“Hm? Yea. Got here a while ago.”

“Nice. You know where the changing room is right?” Dahyun asked as Chaeyoung nods

“I’ll make my way there in a bit.”

“Okay. Just to tell you, the changing room has an upgrade.”

“Oh really?” Chaeyoung said as Dahyun nods

“Okay, okay, enough talking, get in line Dahyun and go get dressed you two. We got to train now.” Coach Choi interrupted them.

"Ne." Dahyun said as she walked to the others who were already training.

"I'll be back. You can follow Coach Choi for a bit. I gotta go change."

"Hurry up." Jeongyeon shouted as Chaeyoung looked at her

"I'm on my way! I'll be back." Chaeyoung said as Mina nods

 

Chaeyoung walked to the changing room as Dahyun went towards Mina.

“This way Mina.” Dahyun said, showing her where to sit, so she can watch the practice.

“I’ll be going now.. I have to practice.” Dahyun said, walking towards the club as Mina nodded. 

 

Mina sat down as she looked around and saw papers in frames on the walls and torphys on the shelves. Mina stood up and looked at them as they were first place WT championships. She then saw a picture with a lot of people in it as she saw a familiar face.

 

T-that’s Chaeyoung when she was young. 

 

Mina smiled as looked at the other pictures. 

 

“The flower beauty is looking at the team pictures.”

“She’s so pretty.”

“Her smile is so breathtaker.”

“Should we try to approach her after practice?” One of them asked as the other nods

“Back to training!” Coach Choi shouted as it shocked them all

“NE!” They shouted back

 

Mina was surprised by the yelling as she let out a sigh of relief with her hand on top of her chest.

 

I thought I was in trouble

 

“I see you found the pictures.” a voice said as Mina knew who it was and turned to look at the person

“Ne.” Mina softly said

“Even my younger self pictures.” Chaeyoung chuckled as Mina smiled and nodded

“Chaeyoung, we gotta go.” Jeongyeon whispered as Chaeyoung looked at her

“I know.” Chaeyoung said

“I’ll be over there practicing. Call me if you need anything.” Chaeyoung said as she saw Mina nod as she walked over to the others with Jeongyeon

“Finally the former champion is here.” Coach Choi said as Chaeyooung bowed and went in line.

“Alright time for warmups. Chaeyoung, you want to do the honors to do the warmups?” Coach Choi asked as Chaeyoung went up front and turned to face everyone.

“Alright. Let’s start by getting a pair and do some leg and arms stretches. You should know what I'm talking about.”

“NE!” they shouted as they went into pairs.

“NE!” Everyone said as they all walk towards the exit

“Ugggghh.. Finally, we get to leave, practice feels soo long.” 

“I know. It's sooo tiring.”

“We’ll have to be ready for the competition.” 

“Yea!”

“Let’s win it guys!”

“Ye- Isn't that Gaeun sunbae?” One of the guys asked as Mina looked towards the exit doors and saw Gaeun sunbae

“What is she doing here?”

“Is she looking for someone?”

“Maybe?”

“But who?”

“Is she still trying to go out with Chaeyoung?”

“Hul.. Really?”

“Yea.. it's been awhile since the last time she tried to court Chaeyoung.”

“I heard she’s been turned down a lot of times by Chaeyoung.”

“Wow.. is she trying to do it again?”

“Hul! So cool.”

“Cold hearted Chaeyoung and in love Gaeun sunbae trying to melt her heart.”

“Hul.. that's a drama i liked to see—“

“What are you guys doing blocking the way?” A voice said annoyed as they all looked and saw Chaeyoung.

“Your girlfriend is here.” One of them said as Chaeyoung was confused and stood next to Mina

“What girlfriend-“

“Gaeun sunbae.” Another one said, nudging Chaeyoung’s arm.

“Now’s not the time for being childish. Get going! All of you!” Chaeyoung roar as they all got scared and bowed

“See you at the next practice!”

“I-i suddenly remember i have homework to do.”

“I have to meet up with my friends for a study buddy.”

“I got— bye!” As they all ran

 

Chaeyoung sigh as Mina tug on her sleeve. Chaeyoung looked at her.

 

“Let me take care of this.” Chaeyoung said as she walked towards Gaeun sunbae while Mina’s hand slipped away from the sleeve.

“Chaeyoung.” Gaeun sunbae said as she smiled and saw her coming towards her.

“What are you doing here?” Chaeyoung asked

“I-i heard you had practice s-so… I bought you this.” Gaeun sunbae said as she gave her a water bottle. Chaeyoung looked at the bottle and back at sunbae

“I don't need it.” Chaeyoung said coldly

“But-”

“You deserve better because… I don't have feelings for you and I never will.” Chaeyoung said as she walked away.

 

Mina watches as she feels her phone vibrate.

Mina put away her phone as she made her way pass Gaeun sunbae

 

“Wait.” Mina stopped as she turned and look at sunbae

“What part of Chaeyoung do you think is good?” She asked as Mina stood there silent

“What? Can you even answer a question?” She added as she looks at Chaeyoung who was walking away

“Cause no matter how many times I get rejected, I will not give up on Chaeyoung.” She said as Mina stared at her

“I'm the one who understands Chaeyoung the most.” Gaeun sunbae said as Mina shook her head

 

No.

 

“Chaeyoung is cute and cool. And also...And also I like her.

 

But.. she doesn't like you the way you like her.

Month later...

 

Cheers can be heard from the outside of the gym.  Chaeyoung’s team entered as the competition was about to being

 

 “Chaeyoung!” Jeongyeon called out as she saw her walking in the gym.

“Wow, Chaeyoung entered concentration mode.”

“Us too!”

“Let’s win this!”

“Yea!!”
“Hey Jeongyeon! Chaeyoung!” A voice said as they turned and saw Nayeon and Mina on the stands.

“You guys came!” Jeongyeon said as she smiled

“Both of you, good luck!” 

“Yea!”

“Chaeyoung!! Fighting!!” a voice said as Nayeon and Mina looked at the person.

“Hul! Gaeun sunbae is here.”

“She’s probably here for Chaeyoung then.”

“Wow, their love must be strong.” 

“Dude, they came to watch the competition. At least wave to your girlfriend.” Jeongyeon said as she turned to Chaeyoung while she looked at Jeongyeon.

 

Chaeyoung turned around and continued walking as Jeongyeon sighed and followed behind her.

 

“Chaeyoung..” Chaeyoung turned to look at the stands

“Who was that?” Someone in the stands said

“Sounds so angelic.”

“She must be pretty.”

“Good luck.” Mina said as Chaeyoung's face started to heat up as she could feel it blushing.

“Let’s go, Jeongyeon.”

“What do you mean ‘let’s go, Jeongyeon’? At least reply back to your girlfriend.” Jeongyeon said as Chaeyoung turned her back on her

“Chaeyoung, are you shy?”

“I'm not shy at all!”

“Then-”

“It's because our relationship is not public yet.” Chaeyoung whisper as Jeongyeon forgot

“Ohh.. that's right. Never mind then.” Jeongyeon said as they continued walking to where Coach Choi and the team was.

“Hey.. Is this the first time you’ve spoken to Chaeyoung?” Mina looked to her right as Gaeun sunbae was talking. 

 

Don't tell me they’ve spoken to each other more than once?

 

“I see.” Gaeun sunbae said as she saw Mina look forward

 

What is this, Chaeyoung? I’ve talked to her so many times, but it's always a short conversation.. Does that mean they talk to each other longer than me and Chaeyoung?

 

“Look, the match is starting.” Nayeon said

“Time for the matches to begin. Check-in with your coach to see where you will be competing. Good luck.” The announcer said.

“Alright. We are going against England. Best out of 3s. We’re gonna have team 2 go up against China, so we’ll have to win this match, Iran, Vietnam, and Philippines to get to the quarterfinals.” Coach Choi said as the team nodded

“Alright, gather around and put your hands in the middle.” He said as everyone put one hand in the middle

“On three. One. Two. Three.”

“KOREA!” The team shouted as they dismissed while the audience cheered in the back.

“Not gonna lie, ever since the competition started, the Seoul team has been winning their best out of 3s. They are qualified to go into the semi-finals to whoever wins on the east side (US, Italy, Germany, and Russia). 

“Semifinals are Korea, Japan, Italy, and Russia.” The MC said as the crowd cheered.

“I'm very much looking forward to South Korea as they are the only team that hasn't lost yet. “ The second MC said

“That is right, I think this might be one of the cleanest wins that South Korea has ever done in a WT competition.”

"It's down to the finals. Team South Korea vs Japan. These two teams have been head to head with each other since the very beginning of WT." The MC said

"Who do you think will win this year's competition Kim-ssi?" The second MC asked

"With this year's competition... I would have to say South Korea, they have been consistent with their matches and haven't lost any. This may be one of the matches they'll have to give up to get their secured win of the match and win this year's competition." MC Kim said nodding.

“Phew.. That was a close one at the end. Good job taking the win in the finals.” Jeongyeon said as Chaeyoung smiled

“Thanks. It wasn't a clean win. I lost 2 matches, but I finished it.” Chaeyoung said as Jeongyeon nod

"Well, at least you made a comeback. 3-2." Jeongyeon said as Chaeyoung smiles.

“Hey! Good job winning the competition!” A voice said as they looked up and saw Nayeon waving at them with Mina and Gaeun sunbae standing next to her.

“Thanks.” Jeongyeon said smiling.

“Both of you were amazing.”

“Really?” Jeongyeon perked in delight

“No.” Nayeon said as Jeongyeon face changed to sad

“I only watch Chaeyoung’s matches.” Gaeun sunbae said

“By the way, when did you guys become good friends with sunbae?” Jeongyeon asked as Mina shook her head

“Stop shaking your head.” 

“It's not like that.” Nayeon said as she whispered something to Jeongyeon’s ear.

“Ohhh.” Jeongyeon replied.

 

Mina looked at Chaeyoung as Chaeyoung noticed it and gave a small smile to Mina.

 

“Now you guys can relax since the competition is over.” Nayeon said as Jeongyeon nods

“Yes.. Finally, I forgot how painful it is when we do so much training within a month,” Jeongyeon said as Chaeyoung nods

“Hey Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon!” A voice said as they all looked

“Oh Dahyun, what’s up?”

“Coach Choi said to join us in the barbecue to celebrate the win and also get a team picture.” Dahyun said

“Oh sure, just text us the place, we’ll be there.” Chaeyoung said as Dahyun nods

“See ya.” Dahyun said as she left.

“Ooo.. Can we join?” Nayeon asked

“I don't know. I’ll ask.” Chaeyoung said

“Me too!” Gaeun sunbae said, raising her hand in the air as Chaeyoung looked at her.

“Maybe.” She replied as she put her hand down.

“Let’s go back inside and take a picture.” Chaeyoung said as Jeongyeon nods

“We’ll see you guys later.” Jeongyeon said as they turned and walked back inside the stadium.

“See you tomorrow, Chaeyoung.” an angelic voice said as it made Chaeyoung smile and lift her hand up to wave at them.

 

Gaeun Sunbae sigh as Nayeon and Mina look at her. Then suddenly she walked towards Chaeyoung and Jeongyeon as she grabbed Chaeyoung’s wrist and pulled her away from them.

 

“What is she doing?” Nayeon asked 

 

Gaeun sunbae pulled Chaeyoung to the side as she looked up and said

 

“If you don't want to go to the barbecue party, let’s have lunch with me.” Gaeun sunbae said with a smile

“No.” Chaeyoung replied as Gaeun looked at the ground

“If that’s the case, then I’ll tell you something.” Gaeun said as she stopped and looked up at Chaeyoung

“Mina.. she’s like you and you can't fall in love with me because of tha-”

“Mina and I… are already dating.” Chaeyoung said, making Gaeun sunbae shocked

“Whe-”

“It's none of your business. So now that's out of the bag.. It’s time for you to move on.” Chaeyoung said as Gaeun sunbae looked down with teary eyes.

“Ho-how could this be… You know.. Dating the flower beauty,,, it won't go on smoothly.”

“It doesn't matter. I’ll protect her from anything.” Chaeyoung said as she turned 

“No more of this one-sided love sunbae. It deserved better.” Chaeyoung said as she walked away to the entrance.

 

But I truly love you, Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung walked out of the barbecue restaurant as she let out a relief sigh. She looked around as she saw two figures walking towards her,

 

"Took you long enough." Chaeyoung said as Nayeon pouts while Mina points at Nayeon

"Its Nayeon's fault for taking a long time,"

"It was not a long time. I had to retouch my makeup." Nayeon said as Chaeyoung shook her head

"Come on, everyone is waiting." She said as Chaeyoung walked in the restaurant, followed by Nayeon and Mina.

"Ohhh Nayeon and Mina is here." One of the guys said

"Hello." The team greeted as the three of them sat down.

"Thank for cheering us to win." another guy said as everyone nods

"Yea, if it weren't for the flower beauty to cheer for us, I don't think we would've won." 

"Yea."

"Its not because of that.. You just don't have the motivation to win." Coach Choi scolded as they all went quiet

"You guys are scaring her. Can we just eat now?" Chaeyoung said as Coach Choi nods

"Before we eat, let's have a toast." He said as he stood up with his cup of beer while everyone followed

"To us, for winning this year's WT competition."

"To us!" They all said as they clink their cups together.
