The alarm clock rang at 5:30 a.m. sharp and Byulyi literally jumped out of her bed. She wasn't used to being woken up by the alarm clock and Iphone ringtones didn't make it any easier.
The sun was still behind the mountain and turned the sky a beautiful lilac-blue. She texted her friends that she was up and could leave in the next twenty minutes. She immediately got a message back that they were already ready and she should just knock on their door. Byulyi dressed warmly, brushed her teeth, washed her face and checked out with her gigantic backpack and then knocked on the door next to hers.
Hyejin opened the door and invited her in.
"Wheein is still in the bathroom but she'll be ready in a second, then we can finally leave" she said and closed her bag.
"I'm so excited, my dad used to tell me about this tour so many times when I was little" Byulyi stared out the big window at the mountains they would be crossing over the next few weeks.
"It's going to be great" the curvy brunette said happily and took a sip from the glass of water that was standing next to the bed. It was done perfectly and the blankets lay folded on the mattress.
Wheein came out of the bathroom and still looked a bit tired, but there was great anticipation for the coming weeks on her face.
"Good morning Byulyi" she said and hugged her "did you sleep well?"
,,Yes and you?"
"Short but good" Hyejin and Wheein said at the same time and then burst out laughing.
"What do you mean, we arrived here yesterday at 6:00 p.m...." teased Byulyi
"hmm think your part but it wasn't what you think"
Wheein chuckled and cling to her roommate
"Wheein has a great talent for being very talkative when she's excited, in case you haven't noticed," Hyejin said, then pointed to her backpack, "Shall we start? The sun is already rising."
Byulyi and Wheein nodded and left the room with their luggage a short time later.
The air was colder in the morning than it was yesterday when they had arrived and made them shiver slightly.
Byulyi put her hands in her pockets, her gloves were still somewhere in her backpack, she probably wouldn't get them out until they set up camp.
The snow crunched under their feet and was the only thing that could be heard, apart from the wind whispering in the mountains and the distant cry of a bird.
They were silent, the overwhelming size and beauty of the mountains fascinated them again a
