“Mum, can you say the story again?”

             It has been the third time that Hana requested for the bedtime story from Rein, and Rein certainly doesn’t want to keep repeating.

              “Baby, I’ve been repeating the same thing, aren’t you tired of it? It’s been so many nights that I’m saying the same story, shall we change?” Rein hushed the little girl, ruffling her hair and tucking her in bed.

              “But mum, I like that story.” Hana furrowed her brows and hugged tighter onto the Rilakkuma bear that she had since birth.

             “Baby, it’s enough for tonight,” a guy came into the room and Hana smiled, “Dad, are you here to listen to the story as well?”

             He smiled, sitting behind Rein and back-hugging her. “I’m here to get my wife back to bed,” he said in English, and Hana pouted.

             Rein’s husband stood up, crossing his arms like an angry man before glaring jokingly at his daughter, Rein laughed. “It’s time for bed, princess. No more foxes stories.” He lowered his voice until it sounded like an order.

             Rein grinned, closing the book and touching the back of it. Her fingers run down the smooth surface of the back cover until the bottom where it stated ‘Authored by Mike Kingsley’. She smiled, putting the book titled ‘The Fox Legend’ next to Hana’s pillow. It has always been her favorite book ever since she knew how to read.

             “Alright, time for bed little girl.” Rein stood up and pulled up the blanket for Hana, she closed her eyes as her parents pecked a kiss on her forehead one after another.

After closing the door to Hana’s door, Kibum picked Rein off the ground and walked to their bedroom. “Hey!” Rein laughed.

             “Baby, don’t you think you should stop saying that story?” He asked, keeping his eyes away from her as she wrapped her arms around her husband’s neck.

             “Why? It’s just a story. Why does it bother you?” Rein raised a brow. “I don’t know, I don’t feel like it’s just a story. I’ve heard it before, standing at the doorway. You said it with so many details it’s like you’ve been there before. It’s kind of creepy.”

             Rein stopped breathing for a second or two and she swallowed her saliva before speaking again. “You think too much, it’s just a story, baby.”

It’s been so long.

             Ever since Jinki and Taemin were gone, life became normal again for Rein. People around her don’t have the memory of the boys transferring into the school; it was like nothing had happened before. It was tough on her, with people having no memories of whatever and yet her memories were overwhelming. She has been through so much during the time the boys were here.

             But life certainly wasn’t very bad for her. A new transfer kid came in named Kim Kibum, he was from the America so they sort of get along well, pretty well. They got together before they graduated and shortly after graduation, Kibum proposed.

             They had a daughter after a year of marriage named Hana, she was very beautiful. She had big round eyes with pearl-black pupils, small-button nose and a pair of lips that resemble that of Kibum’s.

Kibum placed Rein on the bed gently as he stares into her eyes.

             “Is it my turn to have a bedtime story?” He asked teasingly, hovering over his wife for a kiss.

             Rein laughed into the kiss, circling her arms around her husband’s neck, pulling him closer.

             Yeah, life certainly was not too bad for her. She has a loving husband and an adorable daughter. What more can she ask for?

Once upon a time, there’s a girl who was new to this city and knows nothing. One day, she came across a beautiful white fox; for a girl who has nothing, the fox was her only friend. They got along well, played with each other well, and the girl selfishly thought that it will be even better if the fox was able to speak to her.

As if her wishes were heard, the next time she saw the fox, the beautiful white fox has turned into a lovely young lad. Becoming a human doesn’t make it lose its beauty. Instead, its beauty was enhanced as a human form. And so the girl fell in love, she fell in love with a fox-turned-into-boy and it wasn’t something that should happen. Truth to be told, the boy fell in love too, which was why he turned into a human. It was like the ‘Little Mermaid’, and it certainly wasn’t something that should happen.

But it happened, and they were in love.

So they had to face the consequences.

One day many years later, the boy turned back into a fox. He doesn’t have a choice; he had to change back to what he was supposed to be. The girl was heart-broken but nothing can be done. He left, and the young girl had to move on with her life.

And that’s the story of how a young girl fell in love with a fox.
