Fighting For Nothing
Romantic Street: A Detour To Destiny
“Yuri. It’s not what it looks like.” Tiffany said.
“Let’s go.” I grabbed her away from him.
“But Yuri...”
“I said let’s go!”
“Is that how you settle things, Yuri?” Sooyoung butted in.
“You have nothing to do with this.”
“Oh yeah? Aren’t you forgetting something?” He came near me and pulled Tiffany away. “She’s mine, Yuri.”
“She’s never yours!” I hit him on the face.
“She’s mine! She’s always been mine!” He said and punched me back.
“Yuri-ah! Sooyoung-ah! Stop!”
I grabbed him and pinned him on the wall. “You leave us alone, Soo!”
“Ha! Are you ing kidding me?!” He pushed me and grabbed me on my shirt. “You’re the one who should leave. You’re nothing but a tool for her boredom, don’t you know that?! If she had met me in the first place then you wouldn’t have a chance on her!”
“ you!” I tackled him to the ground and punched him hard. “You stay away from her. Get out of our lives!”
“Yuri, stop! Please!” Tiffany pulled me away from him.
“Don’t you dare try to get near her again or else you’ll be facing your death!” I declared. I dragged Tiffany out of that place.
---
“Yuri, let me go.”
“How many times, Tiffany? How many times you’re going to do this to me?!”
“Please, listen to me first.”
“Listen?!” I turned to face her, “You want me to listen to you?! Have you done the same to me ever since? Have you ever listened to what I say?!”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Tears had run down from her eyes.
“Sorry? Is that what you’re always going to say every time you’re gonna stab me?!”
“Yuri-ah. I never cheated on you.”
“Then what was that, huh? Do you think I’m that stupid?”
“I’m just trying to find out the truth. I want to clear my name on you, Yuri. Please, don’t you trust me at all?”
“Find out by how? By meeting him up secretly? Why you didn’t even tell me a thing about this?!”
“I- I’m scared that you’re going to be mad about it.”
“Again?! That ing reason again?!”
“Yuri-ah. St- Ouch!”
I let go of her wrist and saw it had bruised. I realized I did grasp it too tight. I’ve hurt her, the woman I only love, both emotionally and physically. I am so awful. I feel like a monster. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
I tried to rub the bruised part. “It’s oka- Ouch!”
“I’m really sorry. I love you. I love you so much. I promise I won’t ever hurt you again. Forgive me, Fany-ah. Please, forgive me” I pleaded desperately.
“It’s okay.” She reached for me and hugged me tightly. “You don’t have to say sorry. It’s all my fault. I deserve it all.”
“I love you so much.”
“I love you so much too.”
“More than him?”
“Yes, much more than anyone in the world.”
“Promise me. Promise me you’ll stay away from him.”
“Yes... I promise.”
----
It was morning again. She’s still sleeping soundly beside me. Tiffany, my angel sent from above. Yes, she is my happiness but she is also my living pain. She is my life yet, she is the one that is killing me softly.
I know Sooyoung was always the one she wanted and not me. Worse, I am not like him. I’m the total opposite of him. He has the wealth and everything else. I have nothing. He can give her anything she wants. I have to work myself hard just to give her at least a single thing. He had her heart ever since... while I’m just holding her momentarily.
Taeyeon said that I was crazy, that I was a martyr. Even Yoong told me to let her go. But I will never do that. I can never do that. It’s a suicidal act for me. I could never afford to lose her. I love her so much. Call me desperate but I waited for her for too long. I will not let this destroy us. Everything else doesn’t matter to me anymore... as long as she’s mine. Call me the most selfish man in the world, but I don’t care.
I treated her like a princess these passed days I know that’s the least I can do for her. At least I can serve her like her own loyal servant. I’d rather stay this way. In that case, she wouldn’t leave me.
I get up from the bed and prepared our breakfast. I prepared her things for school.
