being one of her few friends is quite an excruciating task, i must say. she's extremely paranoid, and thinks calling me at 3 am because she can't properly reach a high note is appropriate. i've been a victim of her brutally honest, almost sassy nature, and let me tell you, it's not cute. i worked with her in the company for a long time, and although she's amazingly talented, something about noeul just makes you want to strangle her when she gets in her authoritarian mood. still, under those layers of rudeness, apathy and self-hatred, there's an encouraging girl who's just conflicted about how to properly show her good side. i hope people will realize she's not an unemotional who's only feeling is paranoia... okay well she kinda is, but she actually has a heart, and it's not made of ing iron.

it hurt my heart when people claimed my daughter was a diva who got everything handed over to her, even though she always insisted on doing auditions like everyone else. i think this is what shaped her cold exterior, but at the same time made her want to work harder. i've never met someone as ambitious and passionate as my daughter. whenever she didn't get something right, she'd work until it reached perfection. sometimes she has some unhealthy wish for perfection. but i think that's the main reason why she got success throughout her life. i just wish she'd stop burdening herself about every single thing, and i must admit her desire to control everything around her drives me crazy.
TESTIMONY OF RYU NOEUL
sometimes, i feel like after singing so many different stories, i kind of missed making my own in the progress. i don't really know who i am anymore? i only know i'm probably an awful person. why do i even have friends? ugh, i don't know. i've never been to express what i truly feel, mainly because my emotions tend to be ignored by my own self? am i making sense? ugh... anyway. i truly hate myself sometimes, but then again, it's my fault to be like this. if maybe i was more extroverted or followed haera's advice, i'd probably be less insufferable. i became far too obsessed with the idea of proving myself to others, but failed at proving myself to well... myself? i don't really know where to start the change in my personality, so i guess that's why i truly gave up into haera's reccomendations to go into this trip... i don't want to be hopeful, but i am.
BACKGROUND.
➤ limelight born under the arms of ryu chulsoo and ham jinah, noeul's fate seemed to be sealed as soon as she came into this world. both of her parents met while they majored in acting in london, and they managed to make a name of themselves in the theatre industry when coming back to korea. their dream was to open an theatre company of their own, and with the connections they gained over their years of acting, they finally opened their company two years before noeul was born. she started acting in the company when she turned 6, and she seemed to inherit the talent her parents had. the company wasn't huge, but it was more than enough to pay the bills, and they had quite a crowd whenever they did performances. all of her childhood was basically singing her heart out and acting. she always preferred the first one, and her parents always took her to singing contests. within the company, noeul didn't have much friends besides haera. it was initially her seemingly acquired dread for people, but when it'd turn into something else as noeul and the rest of her theatre mates advanced into puberty.
➤ spotlight everyone knew noeul was the daughter of the company's owners, but it didn't matter when you were just a kid having fun. however, whenever noeul got one of the main roles, they'd instantly talk behind her back and claims it was her parent's doing. this is why noeul always begged her parents to let her audition like anyone else, and to not be biased while giving out the roles. they granted her wishes, it was never enough to make the kids shut up. noeul wasn't bullied or anything, but the only one who wanted to talk to her was haera. she didn't want to be sad, and instead of taking the critics to heart, she thought it'd be better to work hard and show the others she had authentic talent that deserved to be recognized. she began to overwork herself, to sing until felt numb, to dance until her mediocre technique was fixed. all the stress she put herself through shaped her into the paranoid, almost diva-ish attitude she now showcases. this only made the others loathe her even more, and she ended up spending most of her life acting in a place where she wasn't happy. she loved the stage, but she could only take so much
➤ highlight when she finished high school and haera decided to leave the company, noeul knew it wasn't her place anymore. she had a rough time telling her parents she didn't want to be there anymore, but they were understanding. they knew how much she struggled on daily basis, so it'd only be coherent for them to ler het take her own path. granted, she is now majoring in vocal music. she was reluctant whether to choose acting or vocals, but she always liked singing more than she liked acting. right now, noeul struggles to go through the calamity that are college assignments and maintain a somehow stable mental state. she's in a process of looking for herself, and when taesoo, the only friend she has besides haera (who he met through haera, ha) offered the trip, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. even if she claimed it was stupid, she was kind of glad haera was such a stubborn idiot.

as noeul likes to label their relationship, haera is the glinda to her elphaba. their personalities were so differing from each other, yet they managed to find a way to complete each other. they've been friends since they were 6 years old, and she was one of the few people who didn't try to bring noeul down all the time, and the one who always stood up for her. there are way too many things she's thankful for, but noeul must admit haera is probably the only one who can stand her during her worst moments. haera's outspoken, extroverted nature always tries to bring noeul out of her shell, sometimes forcing her to meet new people, but she does it with good intentions. still, they're extremely supportive of each other. they might bicker and yell at each other, but it's all quickly forgotten with a cup of lukewarm tea and a marathon of harry potter movies. their relationship is pretty normal, besides the ear-numbing duets full of proficient high notes.

OK SO FIRST THINGS FIRST, WHY DID YOU AGREE TO GO ON THIS ROAD TRIP?
she stayed quiet for a moment before she started talking in her usual pissed off tone. ❝ ... i never agreed. i was dragged into this mayhem.❞ that was mostly a lie. she wasn't dragged, but haera put her psychology major to use and started ranting about noeul not having enough fun and how this would affect her mental health. noeul hates it whenever she psychoanalyzes her, and agreed to go just to shut her up.
