Chapter 5

Narrator’s POV:

“Sooyeon ah~ Let’s head out!”

“Mian Rinnie, but I can’t today. Eomma is expecting me for an important dinner tonight”

“Eh? Hmm.. maybe another blind date?” Hyorin was laughing jokingly

“Yah! Not again..” Sooyeon sulked over the phone

“I’m only kidding hun. And plus, you’re the Lee Sooyeon, I’m sure whoever it is can’t deal with you anyway. Geotjeongma!”

“Yah Kim Hyo Jung!” Hyorin winced at her best friend calling her.

“Arraso arraso, I’ll stop teasing you. Have fun! And call me when you’re back home to tell me all about it!” Hyorin giggled over the phone

“Yeah, I’ll see you soon. Love you.”

“Love you too!” Sooyeon heard before ending the call.

Sooyeon’s POV:

“Do you have a reservation ma’am?”

“Yes, under Lee—”

“ahh~ yeah come this way Ma’am.” The waiter smiled sweetly as he gestured me to follow him

“I’m sorry I’m late eomma, appa. The work and the shoot was finished quite late.” I smiled apologetically

“Gwaenchanha. Oh and this is Uncle Kim and Auntie Kim. Best friends with your appa and I since college days.” My mother replied with a smile

“Annyeonghasaeyo Uncle Kim and Auntie Kim, I’m sorry for being late.” I bowed politely and sat down beside eomma

“It’s okay, we understand” They smiled sweetly.

“Ah mianhe, I’m a little late. There was a meeting.” I heard someone speak.

That voice was so familiar. I turned around in surprise.

“You!” He pointed at me.

I stared at him wide eyed but it quickly turned into a glare as I remembered what had happened the previous night.

“Junsu dear! Come and greet Uncle Lee and Auntie Lee.” I heard Auntie Kim call out quickly

We continued to give each other death stares as he took a seat opposite me.

“It seems like you know Junsu my dear?” Auntie Kim asked me.

“Eh? Ah.. aniyo.. I’ve.. err… just met him once before.” I quickly smiled

“Since everyone is now here, Let’s order shall we?” Appa said

All the while, the adults were having fun talking about their college days and making jokes about it.

While I was just sitting eating quietly dreading it all along, although every now and then I would reply to a question.

Hmm~ I wonder what Rin is doing at the moment.. mayb—

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my dad speak.

Narrator’s POV:

“Ah~ Sooyeon sweetie, we have something important to tell you.”

Sooyeon looked up questioningly.

“We have something important to tell you too Junsu” Uncle Kim also said

The two looked at their parents cautiously.

“You two are both getting married next week!”

“With who?” Both Sooyeon and Junsu didn’t quite seem to understand them

And then it hit them.

“Wait. WHAT??!!!” they both shouted at the same time.

“Listen carefully sweetie”

“You two were arranged to be married when you were born.”

“What? How come you didn’t tell me Eomma??”

“It wasn’t time yet..” She replied apologetically

“Eomma! I can’t get married, especially not with him!” Sooyeon stood up

“Sooyeon!” Her dad looked at her warningly

“Yah! I don’t want to be stuck with you for life either!” Junsu also stood up.

The both of them looked like they were going to kill each other any second.

Both families went home quite troubled with how they were going to deal with this.

MEANWHILE….. [The Lee Family’s situation]

“Eomma, Appa! Please! I don’t want to get married with him!”

“LEE SOOYEON! If you are still my daughter you are going to do what you are told!” Mr. Kim angrily stood up and headed upstairs.

Sooyeon stood their wide eyed.

Never once did he ever raise his voice at her. But this time he did and Sooyeon knew there was no point of going against her father.

“Yeobo!” Mrs Kim called after him.

“Sweetie, just think about it, their son is lovely. I’m sure you’ll grow to love him.” She patted Sooyeon’s cheeks before heading upstairs.

MEANWHILE… [The Kim Family’s situation]

“KIM JUNSU! You are going to marry her and that is final!” Mr Kim commanded.

“Son.. she’s a beautiful girl.” His mother smiled before leaving

“AISHHHHH!” Junsu ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
