Hyunwoo stepped out from the corridor, his duvet wrapped around him in some sort of shawl.

“Hazel.” He greeted me slowly.

“Oppa, I-”

“What’s going on?” He asked in stern English. “Who is this?”

“Erm, well you see, Oppa, this is erm, well it’s, this is H-hanbin.” I stumbled on my words a little because if there was anything that my brothers were good at, then it was being protective. I could feel Hanbin standing awkwardly by my side, not able to understand fully.

“But who is he, Hazel?” He pushed. 

“He’s my friend?” I offered. “He paid for my taxi home so I repaying him with Capri Sun.”

“First you don’t tell me where you are, then you’re bringing home strangers and now you’re giving away my precious Capri Suns. What is with you tonight Hazel?”

“I errr well.”

“I think we need to have a chat Hazel. Show your…friend…out first though. I need time to collect my thoughts.” Hyunwoo ordered, his voice stiff and heavy. 

I turned back to Hanbin to bring him up to speed with the conversation. “I’m sorry Hanbin but Hyunwoo said you need to leave now. I’ll show you out though.” I explained. Hanbin nodded quickly and before we left he turned to my brother and bowed deeply to him.

Once outside the apartment door I breathed a sigh. “Man he is so pissed.” I groaned as we made it back into the lift. “Once he goes past shouting, you know he’s super angry.”

“Sorry for getting you into trouble.” Hanbin said, showing no signs of embarrassment. “But that thanks for letting me see you apartment.”

“That’s ok but again I’m sorry.” I bowed as the doors to the lift slid open.

“It’s fine.” Hanbin chuckled. “You worry too much Sumin.”

“I do not.” I grumbled as the lift grinded to a halt once more. “Ok maybe a little.” I admitted, the doors to the lift sliding open.

“So…” Hanbin started as we exited the building. “If you’re not grounded we should do something on my day off. Maybe on Sunday?”

“Sounds good. I’ll text you Hanbin-ah.” I replied, before going it to give him a small hug, arms wrapping around his shoulders as best I could. I felt his body almost tense up a little before relaxing into me. “Get home safely!” I said as I pulled away from him.

“I’ll text you Sumin-ah!” He almost sang as he walked away around the corner, back towards the nice house and the main road.

I woke up the next morning with dread filling my stomach. Once I had gotten back into the apartment, expecting to be told off, Hyunwoo had sent me to bed with a ‘we’ll talk about it tomorrow’ thrown after me. That meant this morning he was going to conduct some sort interrogation and it probably wouldn’t be fun. 

I reached over to my phone to check the time, remembering about my unread messages when I noticed the icon in the top corner. I opened up Kakao and replied to my friends and read Hyunwoo’s mass of messages, then proceeded to look at the next message.

SMINO: Did you enjoy our performance. Spotted you in the crowd, even though you tried to hide. [11:35]

I looked at the message and sighed but formulating a reply.

Hazel~: Yeah it was good. [11:16]

Hazel~: Why haven’t you deleted my number? [10:17]

I then went on to see that I had a message from Hanbin. He must have sent it once he got home last night.

Hanbinnn: That was a long walk-_- But I’m home anyway. [03:58]

Hanbinnn: I hope your brother didn’t kill you. [03:59]

I quickly typed in a response.

Hazel~: I hope you’re not too tired. Make sure you take a rest today Hanbin, I mean it! [10:19]

Before I had a chance to put my phone away, another message popped up onto the screen.

Hanbinnn: Yes Mum. [10:20]

Hazel~: Yah! Kim Hanbin, why are you up? ): [10:20]

Hanbinnn: I live with 6 other guys Sumin. I got woken up at like 8:30 when Junhoe jumped on me. [10:21]

Hazel~: Oh you should go back to bed. You must be exhausted. [10:21]

Hanbinnn: That’s probably double the amount of sleep I get most nights. Don’t worry your pretty head! [10:21]

Hanbinnn: Besides, I’m having an interrogation of my own right now. [10:22]

Hazel~: Oh?  What do you mean? [10:23]

Hanbinnn: Well the boys wanted to know where I was until 4am and I told them I was at the park but they didn’t believe me. [10:23]

Hazel~: So what are you going to tell them? [10:24]

Hanbinnn: Not sure about that yet. Keke [10:24]

Hanbinnn: I’ll message you later, Ok? [10:24]

Hazel~: Sure! [10:26]

I switched my phone back to the main message feed and then selected Mino’s message, which he had just sent in reply. I was trying to waste as much time as possible in my room so that I didn’t have to face Hyunwoo outside.

SMINO: Why do I need to delete it? [10:17]

Hazel~: Isn’t it right? [10:30]

SMINO: Maybe I don’t want to delete it. ;) [10:32]

Hazel~: Genuinely can’t tell if you’re being serious. [10:33]

SMINO: But no, if you’re interested in knowing. That news story is incorrect. No idea where it came from. I don’t really have the time to date. Besides you know what the media is like. [10:35]
