ANNOUNCEMENT — CONTEST CLOSED AND NOW JUDGING!
ESCAPE — An EXO Writing Contest | RESULTS ARE POSTED!Hello everyone! As you can see above, today is December 31st, which means that the contest is officially closing! We will NO LONGER be accepting any more entries!
This contest has been in the making for two years now and open for a year and three months! Such a long time, and yet, it has flown by. Many people have entered this contest, left for their own reasons, or stayed for their own reasons as well. Regardless of whether or not you entered, withdrawed, completed your story, or even supported from the sidelines, I would like to say thank you and I appreciate all of your effort to engage in something that may have been outside of your comfort zone!
As many of you know, this site has significantly decreased in usage even from the time I joined three years ago in 2017. This contest and the entries have surpisingly shocked me with how a massive 25 individuals attempted to start something new and create art— even in a trying time as this year! So be proud of yourself for getting this far, and be proud of each other for doing it together.
As of now, I have closed the entry form and withdrawn all contestants who's stories were not completed and did not respond to my messages. The chapter list of entries you see now is updated per those who's narratives are completed and will be judged, and those who have contacted me regarding an extension and have been granted it. Please see the list below to ensure that your narrative's placement is correct. If you believe that you do not see your narrative in the right category, please message thesydney.
As a reminder for those of you who have taken the extension, you have until January 31st, 2021 to complete your narrative. We will be judging the completed entries during that time and will not begin reading yours until you have completed it, or the deadline is reached. If at any point, you complete your narrative ahead of the January 31st deadline, please drop a comment below to notify us so that we may begin reading your entry. In the same, if at any point you decide that the one month extension is not enough time, please message thesydney so that you can be withdrawn from the contest.
As a reminder for all, please review our rules and make sure that your narrative has met all categories to qualify. This means that you have subscribed to the contest, the contest's banner is displayed and linked back to the contest in the foreword of the story you have entered, your narrative has a minimum of 10,000 words, you have a minimum of four quotes and prompts, your story does not break AFF guidelines or contain memberxmember, idolxidol, /yuri, m-preg, or , and lastly, features EXO as the main characters/pairing.
Please feel free to have betas or co-authors to edit your story. In the same, you are welcome to edit/change/review/add bonus chapters to your narrative while we are judging, as long as the content does not significantly change. We can not gaurantee however, that we will read your story before or after these changes have been made. Once again, we have attached the guide to correctly place your quotes and prompts below, so please review this in order to ensure you get full credit from our judges.
How the judging will take place:
Because we have three judges and a large amount of entries, we will not be individually reading each of your entries. Entries will randomly be assigned to the judges and graded based on a rubric you can find below and the bonus points claimed. The highest scored narrative in each judge's results will then be reviewed by the judge's panel for first, second, or third place. The remaining narratives will be then be reviewed by the judge's panel f
