The next day, when the bell that indicated it was lunchtime rang. Mark quickly ran from his class to Mina's class. Chaeyoung and Mina were about to leave together to the rooftop, when Mark showed up at their class's door. Chaeyoung quickly stepped back and hid at the back of the class.

"Hey, Mina. I was wondering, if you would like to eat together with us?" Mark shyly offered.

"It's okay, if you don't want to" Mark quickly added.

Mina's classmates began whispering to each other.

'Whoah, Mark oppa is fetching Mina'

'Are they dating?'

'Mark oppa is so handsome'

Mina, who was in cloud nine because her crush offered to eat together with her, quickly nodded. Mark offered his hand and Mina took it. They went to the cafeteria hand in hand. Chaeyoung was long forgotten.

As Chaeyoung didn't hear Mark's voice anymore, he quickly took a peek and sure enough Mark and Mina had left. He heaved a sigh, then went to the rooftop alone, cluthing his luchbox in his hands.

Many days had passed, and it seemed that Mina had completely forgotten Chaeyoung. Lately, Chaeyoung always spent time alone. Chaeyoung missed Mina a lot, but didn't want to bother her. She grew more and more famous everyday, because she's part of the cheers squad now and she's also dating Mark. He still remembered, how his heart broke into a million pieces, when he heard of the news. He remembered crying his eyes out, but there's nothing he could do about it. To ease his heart, when he missed Mina, he would sketch Mina on his sketchbook.

Today was no extraordinary day. Everything went by as it usually would. After dismissal, he walked to the bus stop and caught a bus to go home.



 

Meanwhile, in the hospital Sana was working in. A victim of hit-and-run was brought to the hospital by an ambulance. The EMT team quickly treated the patient.

One of the nurses then tried dialing one of the numbers on the victim's phone.

The telephone at Chaeyoung's place started ringing. Chaeyoung, who was asleep at the time, was woken up, but he didn't pick up the phone, because he knew he wouldn't be able to say anything anyway. However, the phone kept on ringing. It's weird, why didn't his mother pick up the phone? He glanced at the clock on the wall, it's 3:15 AM. Was his mother that tired, that she didn't hear the phone ringing? So, he got out of bed and went to his mother's room. To his astonishment, his mother wasn't there. He checked the bathroom, it was empty. Where was his mother?

Receiving no response, the nurse checked other number and saw Sana's number. She quickly headed to Sana's office.

Chaeyoung, on the other hand, was hysteric. His mommy wasn't home. He tried searching for notes from his mother, but there wasn't any.

"Okay, Chaeyoung, try to think positive." He told himself.

"Mommy probably works overtime. She'll be home soon" He thought.

However, he couldn't shake the worried feeling, but what was he supposed to do at this point? He tried to calm himself down first, before thinking of a solution.

The Nurse knocked and entered Sana's office.

"Doctor Minatozaki, do you happen to know someone by the name of Park Jihyo?" The nurse asked.

"She was my neighbor, why?" Sana nonchallantly answered.

"She was involved in a hit-and-run accident and was brought here" the nurse explained.

"WHAT?" Sana shouted, shocked.

"Where's her ward?" Sana asked.

She quickly followed the nurse to find her friend.

"How's the patient's condition right now?" Sana asked the nurse.

"For now her condition seems all right, but she is bleeding in her viscera, so since we don't know when her condition could become dangerous, she has to go into surgery quickly" the nurse explained.

Upon seeing her friend, she quickly sat by her friend's side.

"Jihyo, gosh, what happened to you?" Sana held Jihyo's hand.

"Long time no see, Sana!" Jihyo smiled upon seeing her friend.

"Are you a doctor now? Wow, so proud of you" Jihyo attempted to light up the mood.

"A surgeon" Sana breathed.

"Do you want me to pick Chaeyoung up?" Sana asked.

"What time is it?" Jihyo asked.

"3:20 am" Sana answered.

"He has to go to school. I need a favor. Can you please take care of Chaeyoung, in the meantime?" Jihyo pleaded.

"I'll be glad to help, Jihyo, but you'll be needing surgery and I can perform that surgery for you" Sana stammered.

"Sana, I can't trust Chaeyoung with someone else." Jihyo reasoned.

"Look, I know you really want to do this surgery for me, but I need you to take care of Chaeyoung for me. So, can you do that for me?" Jihyo pleaded.

"Of course" Sana answered, dejectedly.

"I'll find a suitable surgeon for you, okay?" Sana assured her.

"Thank you so much, Sana" Jihyo answered, happily.

She then left to find her friend, Dr. Moonbyul.

Meanwhile, Chaeyoung was still facing an internal crisis. Maybe he should try informing the police. Calling the police was stupid because he couldn't speak, so he grabbed his coat and travelled to find a police station.

Sana barged into Moonbyul's office without knocking.

"For God's sake, Sana. What do you want?" Moonbyul asking, upset.

"Byul, my friend needs someone to perform a surgery on her" Sana frantically explained.

"Listen, byul. You do it and it has to be successful, okay?" Sana told her.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, first off, I'll try my best, as usual, so I can't guarantee, it will be successful, secondly, why not do it yourself?" Moonbyul questioned.

"She's a single mother and begs me to take care of her son for her." Sana explained.

"Okay, I'll do it. Give me the report." Moonbyul accepted.

Moonbyul began studying the report and Sana asked her higher up to end her shift earlier, as she had to take care of Chaeyoung. Luckily, her boss agreed. She got into car and drove to her previous place.



 

Upon arriving at the place, she knocked on the door and waited for awhile. She knocked again.

"Chaeng, it's me. Your Sana noona" Sana bellowed.

She knocked frantically, while calling Chaeyoung, repeatedly.

Meanwhile at the police station, Chaeyoung was crying, begging the police officer to look for his mother.

"I'm sorry, kid, it's standard procedure, when an adult goes missing, we're gonna have to wait for 24 hours before looking for them. Now, I'll take you home, maybe she's home already." The police kindly explained.

The police held Chaeyoung's hand and took him home. Chaeyoung was still crying, while walking home with the police officer.

When there was no sign of Chaeyoung, Sana descended the stairs and attempted to find Chaeyoung, when she saw Chaeyoung, walking hand in hand, with a police officer.

"CHAENG" she shrieked

She went and hugged Chaeyoung.

"Are you okay, Chaeng?" Sana worriedly asked.

"He reported that his mother went missing." The police officer explained to Sana.

"Oh, his mother's in the hospital. She's currently undergoing surgery." Sana explained.

Upon hearing this, Chaeyoung's eyes were wide open in shock.

"Well, there you go, kid. Your mother's in the hospital. I'll leave you in her care now" The Police officer excused himself then left them.

'We should go to the hospital now' Chaeyoung persisted.

"I'm also super duper worried, Chaeng, but she insists I take care of you and you go to school" Sana explained with a heavy heart.

'I don't wanna go to school. I wanna see mommy' Chaeyoung stubbornly insisted.

"I know what you're feeling, Chaeng. I also want to just go to the hospital right now and join the surgery, but she'll be disappointed, if we don't follow her wishes. So, let's do this for your mom, okay?" Sana soothed.

Chaeyoung finally nodded and they ascended the stairs.
