Jaemi woke up to the sound of a phone ringing in her ear. She grabbed blindly on her bedside table, rubbing her eyes with her free hand.

“Yes. Han Jaemi speaking”

“Oppa?”

Jaemi opened her eyes wide. She detached the phone from her ear and suddenly realized she was answering Baekhyun’s phone. “Sorry, what?” she knew she was speaking gibberish, but hey, you can’t blame her, she just woke up.

“Ehmm..” she heard the girl said. “Isn’t this Baekhyun oppa’s phone?” she asked slowly.

Jaemi’s heart contracted upon hearing the name. “You… Eh, may I know with whom I’m talking to?” she asked politely.

“Dani. Kim Dani”

Jaemi quickly glanced at her watch.

“Hey, I know this is sudden, but can we meet?”

Jaemi wrapped her sweater tighter around her body. She looked around the café for any possible girl named Dani.

She felt somebody tapped her shoulder.

“Jaemi-ssi?”

“Kim Dani?”

The petite girl in front of her flashed a small smile and nodded.

“Baekhyun told me a lot of things about you” Dani smiled again. There’s something in her smile that Jaemi couldn’t quite grasp. “He did?”

Dani nodded, calmly blowing into her coffee. “Don’t worry. He told me only the good things about you”

Jaemi scratched the back of her thigh. “Oh. Never heard about you.” She said, then suddenly raised her arms in defense. “No offense meant, though”

Dani chuckled. “None taken. I knew he wouldn’t say anything about me”

“And why is that?” she couldn’t help but ask.

“I don’t know.”

“Are you his friend?” Jaemi asked carefully. Dani flashed another smile, which she caught something in it.

“No. I’m his girlfriend”

“You’re what?”

Jaemi stared wide eyed. Dani nodded. “Well, we got together only recently, so I completely understand if he hasn’t told any of you guys yet”

Jaemi gulped.

“Can I ask where he is? And why’re you holding his phone?”

“He got into an accident, few days ago?” Jaemi stated, more like a question. She saw the way her face turned ashen, so she quickly grabbed her hand and give it a quick squeeze.

“Which hospital he’s in?”

 Jaemi breathed out the air she’d been holding. “You really don’t know?”
