The MisfitsLay slithered over the ground, his fingers clawing into the solid stone until he stopped. He noticed Chanyeol and Kai from the corner of his eyes and he didn't have to take a closer look to see that Kai got poisoned. If Lay would have time, he would have healed his friend immediately but right now, he had to take care of Basil. The thing was that he couldn't touch Basil and he hadn't figured out until now why he wasn't able to do so.
Every time he tried to grab him, a heavy shock went through his body, so heavy that it once paralyzed him. Just in time he jumped back as Basil punched the ground. “Out of the way!” Chanyeol called out. Fire burst out of his hand and grazed Basil's skin. Lay was surprised as well for that he didn't know of Chanyeol's ability. “Watch out!” Basil had sprinted behind Chanyeol and as soon as he laid his hand on Chanyeol's neck.
Chanyeol collapsed immediately and he would have hit the ground very hard, If Lay wouldn't have caught him. “Chanyeol! Chanyeol!” The tall Vampire didn't answer because he was completely paralyzed. “He shouldn't have interfered.” Basil muttered and shook his head. Slowly, Lay stood up, his gaze was calm and steady. “That was a very bad idea, you know.”
He had tried not to hurt Basil mostly because he wanted not to kill him. He was Lay's student after all and he didn't believe that Basil was actually evil. He was just... desperate. “Lay, you are not my mentor anymore. Stop speaking like you still are.” The way Lay spoke to him – so as if Lay himself was so much better than Basil himself – Basil hated it so much. “My friends, you don't touch them.”
Lay grabbed the other healer by his collar and threw him to the ground. “I've played around enough.” Again, his limps started to get numb as soon as his finger's touched Basil's skin. This time though, Lay didn't back off. He used his own ability to heal himself and even going past through Basil's. Lay's eyes widened, as he realized what Basil had done the whole time.
“Controlling the small electric impulses the nerves send through your body and using them to shock me. Since when did you manage to do it?” Lay whispered in surprise. He didn't expect any answer though; since he now knew what Basil was doing, he could find a way to work against that. “Do you really think this will stop me? Do you really think you can defeat me with something like this?”
What Basil could do, was not impossible for Lay. Basil's eyes widened and a desperate cry came over his lips. “Damn you! Why don't you kill me?” he shouted at Lay, who slowly backed off. “Basil, you forget that I am a healer first and foremost. I only take life if it is necessary and... you were my student. A talented one and I don't want to kill you.”
Lay never had the intention to kill Basil. What Lay did, was to paralyze the part in Basil's brain, which controlled his movements. Just in case he place a small mechanism in the brain, which would knock Basil out, if he would even think of attacking. “You will live, you will apologize and you will atone for all the things you did to the innocent people.” With those words, Lay s
