“So… your boyfriend doesn’t know that you caught him huh?” Sandeul questioned. I shook my head as we walked through the neighborhood.

“No, I just… don’t want to fight with him,” I confessed. Sandeul smiled sympathetically at me.

“Look, you eventually have to figure out what’s up.” Sandeul told me. I nodded.

“I know… and I will but for now I just want to be happy. I deserve to be happy yknow,” I told him. He laughed and I showed him the park first.

“My mom loved taking walks around the park,” He muttered quietly as we walked around. I felt a pang at my heart when he said that. I knew how that felt.

“What kind of person was your mom?” I questioned. A gentle smile found its way up to his face. We found a bench and sat down before he continued.

“She was beautiful and kind. She would deal with me better than anyone else would. My mom was a gentle person, always putting other people before herself.” Sandeul told me. I sighed.

“She sounds nice. I bet she’s watching you right now, so proud.” I assured him. He smiled thinly at me before looking up at the sky.

“You think so?” He asked. I nodded in response. There was an awkward silence but then Sandeul spoke again. “Well if my mom were watching right now she would wonder why I’m being so calm.” He joked. I smiled along side him. “Hey I’ll race you to the swing,” He told me suddenly. I nodded.

“Hana, deul, set,” he yelled, and we both ran off.

Hanging out with Sandeul sure was fun.

[With Hyunmin]

I sat down on the couch thoughtfully after Hyun Jae left.

“What’s up with her lately?” I asked Mika. He shrugged.

“She seemed pretty normal to me,” Mika answered. I sighed not understanding what was going on. She had been avoiding me lately, and when I came trying to spend time with her it turns out that she had plans with another guy? I was worried that there was something I needed to be concerned about.

“I bet that Sandeul kid is worrying the hell out of you,” Mika commented as he sat down next to me.

“Well… she seems so close to him. I mean it’s not bad for her to have friends, but this guy just appeared out of thin air and became her best friend,” I responded. Mika shook his head.

“As much as I would rather sit here and play video games… lets go spy on my sister for a little bit and then come back to play games,” Mika suggested. I smiled happily and hugged him.

“You’re awesome man,” I told him. Soon we walked out of the house following Hyunjae.

[With Hyunjae]

We had been playing around for a while. Sandeul and I decided to play tag around the playground, and now we were lying down on the grass.

“So… that was fun,” I commented. He nodded.

“Yeah…. Now I’m hungry. Any place to eat around here? I’ll treat ya,” Sandeul suggested. I nodded at him.

“There are a couple food stands down the street. Wanna go check them out?” I asked him. He nodded and soon we were off. As we were walking Sandeul asked me about my family.

“So Mika isn’t really your brother?” He asked. I shook my head.

“Biologically no, but I do consider him my brother. I have found that I can now embrace my new family. They love me and I love them.” I told him.

“How nice… and your parents? Did you ever visit them?” He asked. I nodded.

“Their graves? Yeah… I cried my eyes out, but it was worth it. I needed to see them.” I confessed. He smiled.

“Did you have a hard time fitting in to your family?” Sandeul wondered. I shrugged.

“I did at first I won’t lie. I always referred to them as you guys rather than my family. It just takes time,” I told him. He nodded.

“Well I’m having a hard time with that. I still feel disconnected from my aunt’s family.” Sandeul added. I patted his shoulder.

“I don’t blame you… just give it time,” I advised him. Then when we arrived at the stands we pigged out like crazy.

“I’ll give you some of my fish cake if you give me some of your deokbokki,” Sandeul offered. I nodded, we shared our so food happily that I didn’t notice Hyunmin approaching us angrily.  

“Kaja,” Hyunmin grabbed my wrist. My eyes shot open.

“Yah what’s wrong with you.” I pulled my hand out of his grasp.

“Just come on,” Hyunmin grabbed me once again leaving Sandeul clueless.

Aish… now what’s going on?
