Prankin Pretty

little bits

First of all, it wasn't really Joohyun's fault.

Well it is, technically, but not entirely. Maybe.

Obviously we all need to agree that this is all Park Sooyoung's fault.

It's six thirty in the morning on a Saturday when Joohyun finds herself crouching behind one of her friend's couch where she has the perfect view of the bathroom without being seen.

No, she's not a ert.

Not today, at least.

Today, she sneaks inside her friend's apartment for payback. Park Sooyoung had gotten her last time with a flour bomb during dance practice and she had to clean up the whole practice room by herself. Today, Bae Joohyun gets her revenge.

Sooyoung loves watching horror movies, but she's also one of the first ones who secretly gets scared once the lights are turned off. Knowing the girl had most likely spent her Friday movie night with another scary show, Joohyun superglued a long black wig in the ceiling corner of the bathroom, replaced the lights dimmer ones and splashed blood red washable paint on the mirror.

It was pure genius.

She pats herself on the back. Literally.

It doesn't take long when she hears the bedroom door opens. Joohyun holds in a snicker as she listens to nearly quiet footsteps heading straight to the bathroom and towards her wonderful creation. Only then does she peek from the couch, her phone already recording in her hand.

"Three, two, one--"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Joohyun struggles to steady her hands as she shakes from suppressed laughter. That is until the screaming person comes out of the bathroom and she does not look like Sooyoung. At all.

"What's going on?!" comes a shrill sound of panic from the bedroom.

Now that voice Joohyun recognizes. Turning her head to the right she sees a very confused looking Park Sooyoung with bed hair, still in pajamas.

Joohyun blinks hard at the realization as she stutters, pointing at her friend.

"I-if you're... Then who's..?"

Joohyun turns her head towards the bathroom with the very distressed-looking girl clutching at her heart, probably in hopes of calming it down.

She got the wrong girl.

And , wrong girl looks so ing cute.

"Oops?"Joohyun smiles awkwardly.

Sooyoung's intense glare says she's not at the very least impressed.

It's the worst first impression ever.

Somehow, Sooyoung coaxes cute girl into calming down. The three of them move to the kitchen, Joohyun following the two a little bit behind.

Cute friend had been told what the unnecessary set up was for but Sooyoung has always been terrible at story-telling. That's the only explanation why cute girl isn't laughing along, Joohyun tells herself.

"That aside, I still need to introduce you guys to each other," says Sooyoung. "Joohyun-unnie, this is my bestfriend Wendy Shon. She just got back from Canada and will be staying with me for a while."

Cute girl sighs and fixes her expression with a small smile. A little forced, but a smile nonetheless. She's probably still a little shaken up.

"Wendy-unnie, this idiot is my friend Bae Joohyun. She's a constant pain in the ," introduces Sooyoung.

Normally, Joohyun would have hit Sooyoung for that unnecessary commentary since it's obviously the other  way around but she's too busy focusing on not embarrassing herself any further.

They shake hands and Joohyun thanks whoever invented handshakes because wow Wendy's hands are soft and firm and Joohyun almost refuses to let go. Almost.

"Nice to meet you, Wendy-ssi. I'm sorry, again, for what happened. I really didn't mean for you to get involved."

And she really is sorry. Joohyun summons her most apologetic expression and throws it at Wendy, pulling at her eyebrows and lips in her most effective pout.

"I'm sorry," she says again.

Joohyun knows she has the face most people would bow down to and she is not above using it to her advantage.

Sooyoung fakes a gag and this time Joohyun doesn't stop her hand from swatting at the younger girl and yet completely missing.

She also misses Wendy patting at her own reddening cheeks, subtly turning away from the bickering duo.

Joohyun ends up agreeing to have breakfast with them, as insisted by Sooyoung.

Well, more like Sooyoung heavily implies Joohyun has to cook for them to make up for the absolute trauma she had apparently caused.

Wendy says it was fine though and rhat she's over it but of course Sooyoung doesn't listen.

Joohyun was going to express her disagreement in... carefully chosen words over Sooyoung's annoying rebuttals, but Wendy looks at her and gives her an apologetic smile and well that's just not fair.

It's definitely not Joohyun's fault when she finds herself standing in the kitchen with a spatula and frying pan on hand.
