Reveal
OrbitHello lovely readers! Thank you for all the comments on the last chapter and to those who voted and new subscribers <3 And thanks for your patience as well.
The last chapter was pretty ~eventful~, so this is a calmer one and it's not as long, but things are going to pick up after this. For anyone who chose not to read the last chapter, a quick recap: Bangdae did the deed and slept together and Daehyun is still the little nuisance he always is.
Btw, I wrote another Bangdae story based on a prompt I got, it's complete and you can read it here. Please check it out if you're interested and let me know what you think, it's a little bit of a different style than I've written before.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, anyone who's reading/read 'Love and Other Miraculous Cures', I haven't forgotten about it! I'm not quite done with that series yet, and the next chapter (whenever it comes out) will be Younglo.
And onwards...
They don’t end up leaving their room until an hour later.
Daehyun loves to kiss and he had been left wanting the night before, so the morning is spent slow and languid, mouths occupied as Yongguk’s hands mold to the faint bruises on Daehyun’s hips.
Afterwards, Daehyun lets his racing heart settle, head dropped against the leader’s shoulder and soft breaths tickling the shell of his ear. Yongguk’s hands smooth across the expanse of skin in his arms, tapping gently on Daehyun’s thigh and lifting them slightly up off the bed.
“Weren’t you the one who was all gung ho for the breakfast bar? Come on, we gotta shower.”
Daehyun hums, legs winding around Yongguk’s waist, mouth now occupied with the elder’s neck.
Yongguk sighs, though he’s smiling, as he slowly walks them towards the bathroom arms secure under Daehyun’s thighs and rear as he moves. The younger lets out a quiet groan, shifting in Yongguk’s arms in an attempt to take some pressure off his aching back.
“All that muscle’s made you heavier, this is not as easy as I remember it being,” Yongguk murmurs, and then there is a muffled chuckle and he feels the pressure of teeth biting at his shoulder in retaliation.
“Is this because I don’t spoil you enough?”
He feels a nod, and presses his lips to the younger’s temple as he sets him down on the covered toilet seat, turning to adjust the water before they both slide into the steamy stall.
Yongguk’s hands lather shampoo into Daehyun’s hair, pulling gently on the strands when the younger blows bubbles into his face. The heat soothes the singer’s aching muscles, and he nearly falls back asleep leaning against his leader as they stand under the warm water.
Daehyun’s stomach growls as they dry off and the younger groans, torn between his stomach and the desire to crawl back into bed with his boyfriend. He pulls on a pair of briefs and brushes his teeth hurriedly next to Yongguk before doing just that, curling up as Yongguk rummages through their suitcases.
When Yongguk turns back around, he sees that Daehyun has donned his shirt from the previous night as well, forgotten on the unused bed littered with their belongings. The younger is tugging the shirt around him to keep some semblance of modesty, sleepiness worn off and suddenly shy in the face of the now brightly sunlight room. The boy’s eyes are closed; the only feature visible behind the collar popped up and pulled around his face as he breathes in Yongguk’s scent on the garment.
Yongguk joins him on the mattress and sits beside him, leaning on one arm propped on the singer’s opposite side. He tugs the shirt aside and watches as colour blooms high on Daehyun’s cheeks as he is caught.
“We have to head down, Dae.”
Both are reluctant to end their time alone, to jump back in to the whirlwind of music shows and promotions, separated by an invisible barrier. Yongguk doesn’t want to leave this place where Daehyun is playful and uninhibited with him, beautiful and free and just that hint of seductive, everything Yongguk has ever wanted and belonging to him alone. To breach the threshold of their hotel room is to return to being Bang Yongguk and Jung Daehyun, members of B.A.P; brothers, friends, colleagues, but no more. To return to a world where Daehyun belongs to everyone and no one.
Yongguk brushes his hands though Daehyun’s drying hair, pulse jumping as the younger leans into the touch, knees coming up to his chest as he curls up, facing him. The urge to give in and stay in bed until they absolutely have to leave is strong, but Yongguk knows Daehyun better than Daehyun’s knows himself at times.
He leans down to kiss the younger once more before standing, ignoring the feeling of Daehyun’s hands falling away from his arms and the low whine with difficulty.
“I want to get down to the buffet before all the good stuff is gone and we have to hear about it for the rest of the day.”
Daehyun grumbles something as he sits up and tugs off Yongguk’s shirt, changing into his own clothes. He moves to the mirror to brush his damp hair into something less likely to dry looking like he had spent all night being ravished.
His body still aches a tad, just enough to send him little reminders of the night before when he shifts this way or that. Just enough to make his breath hitch when Yongguk reaches past him to grab his watch, fingers pressing into the younger man’s sides as he does so.
It makes Yongguk pause in his actions and they look at each other for a long moment before Yongguk shakes his head, pulling away and heading to the front of the room to put on his shoes.
“We’ll never get out of here if we don’t leave now.”
“Hyung, do you think these jeans are too tight-“
“Now, Daehyun.”
* * *
No one wakes earlier than Daehyun, so they still end up being the first people down to breakfast, though they are joined by Himchan and Youngjae minutes later.
Yongguk looks up from the plate Daehyun has loaded with food for him, “Maknaes?”
“Still sleeping. Hyung said we can just grab them some stuff to go before we leave.”
Yongguk nods and tries not to feel irritated when the vocal line immediately begin chatting, all of Daehyun’s attention now on his friend as Youngjae complains about Himchan’s alleged snoring before they tumble into their usual fast-paced banter.
Himchan distracts him soon enough, though, and the next hours are spent packing and being shuttled to their next performance and fansign before they are finally back home at the dorm.
The younger members decide to hop off with Manager Kang to head to the practice rooms or gym and Yongguk is left with Himchan as they settle down in front of the TV.
Himchan groans as he stretches out his body, wincing at the tiny cracks, “If you want to feel like a senior citizen at 23, join an idol group.”
Yongguk laughs lightly, nodding in agreement, “Tell me about it.”
They watch the pictures moving on screen in silence for a time, until Himchan begins to shift and clears his throat. He eyes Yongguk from the side, making sure to keep his voice casual as he starts speaking.
“So,” he begins cautiously, “Do you have anything to tell me?”
Yongguk looks his way briefly before he turns back to the screen, “About what?”
Himchan pauses, seemingly pondering his next words, but eventually forges ahead, “About Daehyunnie?”
Yongguk doesn’t say anything immediately, but his breathing slows and he looks at Himchan, brow rising as if to question. Himchan leans forward and lowers his voice slightly, “About you and Daehyunnie?”
To Yongguk’s credit, there is little change on his face except for the careful blankness that slides over his features and it might have fooled anyone who didn’t spend 24 hours a day around him.
Yongguk knows better than to lie to Himchan, so he sighs and turns back to the screen.
“How did you know?”
Himchan smirks, handsome face morphing into a look of self-satisfaction, “I didn’t. Not for sure. Not until now.”
Yongguk should have expected that, but it doesn’t change anything. Himchan wouldn’t have asked unless he had good reason. He can’t help the worry and mild panic that seeps into him, but Himchan isn’t looking at him with anything but curiosity and his usual mischief.
“Don’t worry, the dongsaengs don’t have a clue. But, well, I was bored. I guess I was paying more attention than usual, had more time to. And when I started to see the signs…hindsight was pretty telling.”
Yongguk eyes flicker briefly towards his friend, teeth biting into his lower lip as a hand brushes through his cropped hair, “You’re okay with this?”
Himchan shrugs, “You’re happy. So I’m happy, because you deserve that. Both of you. And…I trust you to know what you’re doing. You know, I knew something was there, on your part at least. But I didn’t think you’d actually do anything about it.”
Yongguk smiles softly, thinking about the moment he and Daehyun had decided that they were going to go ahead and do this, “Wasn’t planning to. But I’m glad I did.”
“It seemed weird at first but… you actually balance each other out,” Himchan grins, elbowing him with his good arm and raising a brow suggestively, “So, how is he?”
Yongguk sends his friend a flat look, “Himchan, we are not talking about that.”
“…I didn’t mean it like that, but wow, Yongguk, really? Wait,” Himchan’s eyes go wide, “Last night?”
“What? No, I told you, I’m not-”
“Oh my God, Bbang, yes, look at you gettin’ it! My man! Wait, that’s my precious dongsaeng, that’s my Daehyunnie, my brat, how could you taint…you know, I don’t know how to appropriately react to this.”
“I didn’t even say-”
“It’s okay. I approve. You’re as good as any man can get. Bit of a freak though, right? Come on, don’t deny it, does he know yet? Let’s be honest though, if Daehyunnie isn’t hiding a little kink behind that cute face I’d be surprised-”
“Channie-”
“-Oh he totally is, right? I’m almost jealous; I haven’t even been on a date since before we debuted. On the bright side, with you two out of the way, I have all the ladies to myself. You know this relationship is really working out great for me.”
“Himchan!”
“…Yes?”
Yongguk grins, shaking his head in exasperation as he finally has Himchan’s attention, “I’m happy you’re…excited? For us. And, I know you won’t tell anyone, but…can you not let on to Daehyunnie that you know, either? I just…don’t know how he’d react to that.”
Himchan wraps an arm around his shoulders, “Of course, Yongguk. You can count on me to handle this precious romance with the delicacy of morning dew on the softest of petals.”
Yongguk wishes he had as much confidence in that as Himchan evidently did in his poetry.
* * *
Youngjae and Daehyun return from the gym together and the younger heads straight to their room to collapse into bed until dinner.
Daehyun drops his bag in their living room before heading to the kitchen, where Himchan greets him with a wide grin, leaning against the fridge as he waits for something to cook in the microwave.
He smiles slightly in greeting, “…Uh, hey hyung, mind letting me in the fridge?”
“Sure thing, cutie.”
Daehyun surveys him oddly, but chalks it up to Himchan being Himchan.
The elder moves aside and as Daehyun opens the door, leaning forward to survey the contents, a loud smack is heard followed by a high pitched cry.
Yongguk rubs his face exasperatedly in the living room as Himchan returns, snickering as Daehyun yells from the kitchen.
“What the hell was that for, hyung!”
Quite a few of you thought Himchan was going to be the first to know, and voila, you are correct! Of course, our ulzzang is always the best and worst ally XD
