We were sitting on a wooden bench, laughing frantically as we remembered our first time having an overseas trip with our parents. Taemin was 13 at that time and I was 12. We were on Paris when me and Taemin decided to walk around the town without our parents’ permission. We went to this restaurant near our hotel and bought Escargot without knowing what it was.

Taemin was the first one to eat it. I watched every move he made because it was hilarious seeing my brother acted like a real gentleman. The funny part was when he ate the Escargot and he, almost immediately, spat it out on a woman’s purse. The woman saw it and almost slapped my brother, when our parents came and apologized to that woman.

Taemin and I were grounded for a year because of that…

But I didn’t feel guilty at all. It was really fun and that precious moment would be a funny story for my children one day. I looked at Taemin who wiped his fake tears and breathed heavily because of laughing too much. He smiled.

“I wish we could go back to those good times… Maybe I would force you to eat that thing?”

I shook my head. “No! I would never eat that in a million year. Never.”

“Oh really? I know a good France restaurant in Apgujeong, maybe I could take you there someday?”

“No way!” I shouted, gaining some death glares from the walkers. I bow my head a little then looked back at Taemin who was laughing at my mistake. I frowned.

“Yeah, yeah Mr. Escargot. Stop laughing.”

“Why should I?” He asked, folding his arms in front of his chest while smiling like a little kid.

“Because I said so.”

“And who are you by the way?”

“I’m the queen of Seoul.” I stated, making him laugh and shaking his head violently.

“If you are the queen, then I am what? A prince?” He asked jokingly.

I smirk. “No. You will be my pet. You will be my little puppy!”

Taemin didn’t say anything but smiling warmly at me as he ruffled my hair. He stood up from his seat and helped me standing up as well.

“Let’s take a walk…” I nodded and followed him afterwards.

The sun shone brightly as we walked down the shore while laughing at the jokes we shared. Taemin and I have been playing around at this beach for hours now, but he still doesn’t want to tell me the reason why he brought me here. Something was bothering him and I, 100% sure that it wasn’t about Chohee.

I think it’s because of my relationship with Jongin.

From the way he looked at me when he saw Jongin kissed my cheek, I knew that this relationship would bother him so much. It wasn’t surprising though seeing him all sensitive toward me and guys, he was always this protective if his loved ones were involved. Suddenly, he stopped his feet from moving too far then faced me with an unreadable expression playing on his face.

“Why did you give him the love letter?” He started, looking directly into my eyes. I shrugged.

“Because I like him of course, why would I give him a love letter if I didn’t have any feelings for him?”

He shook his head. “I don’t know? Maybe it was a mistake?”

“What do you mean by that?” He sighed and looked away, making me feel anxious about what he’s going to say.

“I never thought you would ended up with Kai instead of Sehun. I aways thought you and Sehun had this kind of chemistry that made people would think of how cute you were when you’re with him.” He turned to me. “But then I saw you with Kai, I couldn’t help but to feel jealous.” I raised my eyebrow. Jealous? Why would he felt jealous of Kai?

As if he could read my mind, he continued. “I was the one who protect you, I was the only guy in your life beside our father, but now you have a boyfriend, I think my position as your protector is going to be taken by him?” He chuckled. “But is he going to protect you, Soyoung-ah? Is he going to make you happy? Is he going to be there for you whenever you need him? I sounded like a possessive boy, aren’t I?”

I nodded. “Definitely.”

Taemin didn’t say anything, but chuckling instead. Something seemed a bit off from him, but what is it? Why did he have to be so scared like that? Jongin is his best friend, why would he felt so worried about me being his best friend’s girlfriend?

“I hope he wouldn’t do something funny to you sissy.” I raised my eyebrow.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

He smiles and walks away from me. “Nothing….. I’m just warning you.”

Days have passed and today was the competition day. Taemin, Jongin and Sehun had dragged me away from my bed and forced me to watch their performance. Knowing it would be so boring for me if I didn’t have someone to talk to, Taemin invited my best friend, Chohee, as well. The place where they’re going to perform was really, really big and filled with so many good looking people. Chohee and I couldn’t help but to spazz at some hotties that passed our seats, making Taemin and Jongin covered our eyes with their hands.

Sehun, on the other hand, was not interested in our little conversation. He chose to practice all by himself instead of fooling around with us. It wasn’t surprising though, I knew how Sehun felt about this competition. He’s an ambitious guy just like Taemin and Jongin. The way he danced to the song was indescribable, I hope we could win this game and brought a trophy home or else, we would have to see Sehun killed himself at Han River.

No he wouldn’t do that of course, I was just exaggerating geez…

I was talking with Taemin when a guy with a dozen of roses came and told me that someone had bought these roses for me. Jongin, Taemin, Chohee, and even Sehun threw their questioning looks on me.

“Who gave her these?” Jongin asked, giving the sender his cold stare just to make him said the truth. The sender pointed to a bunch of guys across from us and told us the one who gave me these beautiful roses. He was sitting on a table, staring at me with his doe-like eyes while mouthing if I like the gift or not. I giggled at his silliness for trying to talk to me, so I put my thumb up in the air and nodded. His face lightened up as he saw me putting my thumb up in the air. Before he could say something again, his friend, who doesn’t look like Korean called him then he followed his friend to the other side of the room.

My lips curled upward as he turned his head to me and gave me a wink before he followed his friend. I giggled again then turned back to the others just to find everyone was staring at me weirdly.

“What?” I asked, feeling a little bit comfortable with their stares. Jongin, who was standing not so far away from me, gave me a cold stare and frowned.

“What was that for?”

Uh-oh…..
