Chapter 29: Lies

I tried to shift my gaze and ignore the Jiyong and Kiko walked inside the room. My hands are shaking as flipped the book I'm holding. I saw from my peripheral vision when they walked beside me, with their hands locked to each other. I gulped and tried not to make a move, because even breathing would just make me cry. I felt like I lost all my blood, I felt suffocated.

Moment later, Mr. Kim entered our classroom, I was silently praying for him not to instruct us to gather with our partners.

"Okay class, end of high school is approaching fast." He noted. "I want you guys to submit me all your projects until tomorrow." He continued.

"But! I will pick three artworks from your class that would present it on your graduation.. Okay, gather with your partners." He instructed us.

My jaw clenched as soon as he instructed us. My hands on my lap balled. I don't know how will I face Kiko after what happened.

"Ms. Park?" Someone called me. I jerked and awkwardly lifted my gaze and saw the school director. "Follow me at my office."

I was grateful that the director called me. I immediately followed him.

Later, at the school director's office..

"Congratulations Ms. Park!" Mr. Hyun said. I looked at him curiously. "You're this batch's valedictorian." He continued as he offered his hand.
